I recently purchased this used, with ported barrel and slide. Is it a problem to put a new barrel in it that isn’t ported?

My pro series has been the most accurate autoloader I have owned in years.
It will hold a 3” 5 shot group at 25-30y easy all day with a little practice.

I just bought a 2014 model of this. Came with 2 extra mags and all the original stuff otherwise. I paid $440+tax, I haven’t seen the gun ALONE for that little. It’s in great shape too!
I am considering this pistol for my first carry weapon.
I am loving this camera though… on the long shots, I can actually see the slug moving before it hits the big black target.

I’ve got an M&P…Great weapon! This guy is a great shot.
Is the main reason for the 5" just sight radius? I want to get into some comp shooting, and not sure about what to buy. I have a shield 9 and can track the sights thru what very little recoil it has. Does the longer slide prevent muzzle flip? Because it would seem that even though the weight is farther away, it has more leverage against your hand? I could be wrong…just looking for some insight.

Watching Hickhok casually manipulate firearms, one could easily gather a sense of peace of mind because you can see & learn from an elite level carrier that, firearms are just tools… handle them responsibly & with care. But… most importantly, have fun with them!!!
What type of ammo? I just bought this gun and it’s my first gun ever I don’t know what brand of 9mm to use
I shaved my dove tail because this beast is my edc and appendix carry that tail doesn’t feel good getting it in the gut.

How is recoil of this compare to X5 legion?
I used to have one of these and loved it. Super reliable and accurate combat pistol. I traded mine in for a canik last year which is also a freaking amazing shooter but I’ve been regretting trading in the old m&p..

Does anyone know if this particular gun is supposed to have a very heavy and long trigger pull? It was almost insane trying to shoot this because the trigger was ridiculously hard to pull

I have a 9mm m&p pro stainless. I have fired steel, aluminum and brass case. 115 – 147 grain. Uncoated lead, fmj, and all types of home defense. It has never had one issue except for a bad primer on a box of fed. The only thing I have not fired from it is shotshell rounds and is accurate every time.
