Neck a .40 S&W casing and it would be too short. The starting case for .357sig is 10mm. Also the .357 sig bullets are slightly tougher than your common 9mm bullets. Otherwise all other comments are valid.
Can I put 40 shells in a Glock 31 ?

I own SIG P226 in .357 SIG. loaded with Underwood .357sig 115gr. it’s a hot load,,, ( THAT’S WHAT SHE SAID. ) seriously its screaming demon hard hitting mofo. 1450pfs too 1580fps I EDC .357SIG AND RANGE TIME .40CAL (9mm isn’t even in the same ballpark )

Has anyone else here besides me converted a 40 S&W Shield to 357 sig? It makes for a nice package in my book, but I’d be interested in learning what others think. It’s certainly more fun to shoot than as a .40.

Well said,just picked the same gun,can’t wait to fire it.The 357sig is awesome at long rang over other semi auto calibers. The sig also has thicker brass and barrel .I have become really fond of the the quick snap of the recoil, good videoš

I have a 40 S&W . I’m thinking of getting a 357 barrel for the extra velocity . But what about 40 calliber plus p plus hollow points ? Would they be equal in velocity ?

A lot more energy,Better round flatter shooting and very accurate. Out of the box many popular brands Iāve had similar results to 10mm with 357 sig . A lot of ammo loadings are weak on 10mm . Only High end specialty 10 mm separates itself from 357sig or hand loading 10mm . Those 2 options provide awesome options. 357sig seems more consistent in more ammo offerings .

Older video but still good. I recently put a KKM .40 barrel into my Glock 32 (.357Sig). I tried to load up the Speer 40cal 180gr TMJ into the Glock 357Sig magazine and guess what? It does NOT work! The problem for me was the .40 bullet doesnāt fit between the ānoseā end (bottle necked end), of the magazine through the feed lips. I was so ticked! It looks like Glock slightly tapered the nose end or āshoulder endā of the feed lips, thus preventing a wider (No shoulder) bullet of the 40 from functioning properly in the magazine. So, I just ordered some Glock 23 (40 cal) magazines and theyāll get here in a few days. Iām hopping that it will work because .357Sig ammo is near $50/box per 50. If the new mags work, Iāll buy more Glock mags in .40 in that case. Hickok45 mentioned the same issue on his channel. He briefly explained in one of his Glock 357/40 videos of using one of the two magazines for a caliber swap, but he couldnāt remember which mag would feed both calibers. It looks like I figured out what he meant now. It seems that the feed lips are slightly narrower near the shoulder only and on Glock 357 magazines, than their 40ās. I know people that do the 357 conversation from a .40 Glock gun, but not the other way around. Itās nice that S&W just uses the same interchangeable magazine between the two calibers.
No the 357sig started with Sig P229 than P226 than the Glock 31,32,33,
I reload 357 Sig and push them mid 1400fps using a 125gr Speer gold dot bullet. Hard hitter for sure.
Those calibers are all deadly " it’s a matter of perspective " reality guns kill in general
