RUGER/MARLIN OFFICIAL UPDATE!

RUGER/MARLIN OFFICIAL UPDATE!

Ruger CEO Chris Killoy shares initial plans for Marlin rifle production in response to a shareholder’s question during the 5/12/2021 on-line shareholders meeting.

GUN NEWS IN 5 MINUTES OR LESS guessed this strategy 100% last month in an earlier update. (but then again, a broken clock is right twice daily, so we’ll hold off on taking a bow!)

More to come!

    I’m ready to buy a lever action rifle 336 marlin Can’t wait…..

  3. gerald clemens on October 31, 2021 at 8:24 pm

Hopefully bring back tube fed .22 like the old 782 or ramp up production on any existing tube fed 22.

  4. Brian Lee on October 31, 2021 at 8:24 pm

So are the new Ruger / Marlins going to be called the Rulins ? I’m hoping that the quality is as high as the JM Marlins. I’d like to see them bring back the 336 cowboy in 38-55 and 44-70. Thanks 👍

  5. ssanderford63 on October 31, 2021 at 8:24 pm

I really hope the new rifles are Ruger branded. It won’t stop me from buying if they keep the marlin name, but I’d much prefer ruger branding.

  6. MRGTOLS1 on October 31, 2021 at 8:29 pm

It going to be interesting to see what new innovation Henry USA bring to the table now Ruger is in their market

  7. Scott's Outdoors on October 31, 2021 at 8:29 pm

I’d just like to see one at a reasonable price. 3 years ago the 336 was at most a $450 gun, now people are wanting almost $2k for a used one.

  8. ProfabDesigns Marine & Offroad on October 31, 2021 at 8:33 pm

Pls buy a remote microphone, the sound quality is just terrible. It looks like your using a cell phone and sounds bad.

  9. Thomas Taggart on October 31, 2021 at 8:35 pm

Make a real 39 as has been made for over 75 years. No rebounding hammer and crossbolt safety which completely rearranges the internal workings, pivots, linkages and geometry

  10. Chris Noyb on October 31, 2021 at 8:35 pm

"… in the larger calibers." So my Marlin by Ruger 1894CB in .357/.38 most likely will have to wait.

  11. Mark Miller on October 31, 2021 at 8:36 pm

I love marlin rifles and am excited to see that Ruger now owns them because I believe that the quality of the rifles will improve under Ruger

  12. Lion Celica on October 31, 2021 at 8:37 pm

I just hope they don’t start making them with cast receivers

  13. DON CROCKER on October 31, 2021 at 8:39 pm

Mainly what I am looking to buy is a Marlin 1894 in 357 magnum. The remlin didn’t work well and were of poor quality! Please make the 1894 model in 357 magnum and you will have plenty of buyers! It will also go perfectly withe the 6" stainless GP 100 I own in 357 magnum!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  14. Lifted_Above on October 31, 2021 at 8:40 pm

Need Henry or Marlin (Ruger) to produce a legit 454 Casull levergun. Please.

  15. Chris Noyb on October 31, 2021 at 8:41 pm

Remington wanted $2,300.00 for a Custom Shop Marlin 39A. For those wanting Ruger to make the 39A (and/or the shorter version), what would you pay for the Ruger version? I’m thinking a long wait IF IF they make it, and a hefty price tag (which will probably mean no 39A).

  16. Stetson&Spurs on October 31, 2021 at 8:43 pm

I’m pretty excited about Ruger’s purchase of the Marlin brand. Always loved my Ruger M77’s, and Super RedHawk’s. I think Ruger makes a great firearm, and I cant wait to grab a new 336.

  17. RyeOnHam on October 31, 2021 at 8:46 pm

The Model 60 is going to be a hard sell. Ruger might be happy just sitting on the rights. You might as well be asking Ruger to start producing the Camp Carbine again, despite them having a comparable product in production.

  18. Jim Marcum on October 31, 2021 at 8:47 pm

Marlin 22lr lever guns should be made like they were in the past with forged billet receivers, but I am pretty sure they will do the cheaper investment cast to maximize profit. I have two older 39A’S which I have much respect as how they were built. Both of these rifles are 60 years old years old and they were abused and neglected. Before cleaning, I shot both of them, and they functioned without a problem. Neither had ever been broken down and cleaned. Both had lead build up around the feed ramp and the outside of the chamber. The bolt had hammered the lead into every recess around the chamber. I guess the lead build up was from minute shavings of lead from the bullets as they were chambered over the last 60 years. As I was removing the pockets of lead, I was afraid the action would become very loose. but the action stayed tight and smooth. If it is not broken, don’t fix it. I hope Ruger does not change things up on the design of this rifle, it does not need any. This would be a perfect match to their SAA line of 22 rimfire revolvers.

  19. Robert Bianco on October 31, 2021 at 8:47 pm

Wow! I’m pretty upset. Didn’t they say they were going to make the stocks in New Hampshire, and the Barrels in North Carolina?
    Oh man! I don’t really like that…
    No! Not at all!

  20. Jesse Eno on October 31, 2021 at 8:49 pm

Be ready for the price tag, and some issues I think

  21. Shaun Sian on October 31, 2021 at 8:49 pm

I hope they bring back the Handi Rifle single shot rifles

  22. Lawrence Constantine on October 31, 2021 at 8:50 pm

nice to see little old Newport NH get a little action

  23. J B on October 31, 2021 at 8:51 pm

I would REALLY like to see the model 56 Marlin come back along with, of course, the 39A! And maybe see them bring back the 5mm Rem Rimfire Magnum cartridge find a place again too!

  24. William Keith on October 31, 2021 at 8:52 pm

I wish Ruger would make a tube-fed lever model 96 to take 22 S, L, 22 LR. Continue with 10/22 versions and make the Marlin model 60 and add a takedown version to that line, also adding a stainless and synthetic stock versions.in black and camo. Put an adaptor plate for red dot on these guns.

  25. Josh Smith on October 31, 2021 at 8:52 pm

I wanna see a 350 legend in a lever action. I’m really suprised nobody has done it yet

  26. William Oxendine on October 31, 2021 at 8:55 pm

I have a Marlin 22and 44 mag rifle had for about 40 years love both Marlin and Ruger great guns have four Ruger pistols

  27. jpb1231000 on October 31, 2021 at 8:55 pm

  28. sub terfusion on October 31, 2021 at 8:55 pm

Ok im all in on the Ruglins….make me one in a .450 mag case necked down to .375.

  29. Robert Bianco on October 31, 2021 at 9:00 pm

Not the way My 30-30 from North Haven Ct, was made!

  30. Clifford Bryant on October 31, 2021 at 9:01 pm

I will sure buy a Ruger made 30-30 rifle I love ruger

  31. SnoopReddogg on October 31, 2021 at 9:02 pm

‘Meh’ to the ye olde Marlin Levers, bring back the Model 62 Lever-Matic and then I’ll be interested!

  32. Kevin Rollman on October 31, 2021 at 9:04 pm

That is great but my 2019 Remington made 1895 CBA 45-70 is one of the best Marlin lever guns ever made!!

  33. Mopar_ Dude on October 31, 2021 at 9:04 pm

Ruger doesn’t need to bring back any Marlin models that Ruger already makes an equivalent to (semi auto and bolt action rifles). Center fire and rim fire lever actions are all that are needed in the Marlin lineup. Improve on the older designs and bring out a budget minded line like Ruger’s American Rifle line. Ruger could also do some great low production lines through their custom shop and matching sets (using same caliber) of lever action rifles and single action revolvers. Ruger already makes excellent guns that cover the other bases, no need wasting money on other lines and more employees for little to no profit.

  34. William Sirman on October 31, 2021 at 9:05 pm

Ruger makes the Ruger 10/22 as everyone knows! The Model 60 was it’s closest competitor! Why build a gun to compete with the 10/22? Good by, Adios, and Sayonara, to the Model 60 folks!

  35. robert frederick on October 31, 2021 at 9:06 pm

  36. John Doe on October 31, 2021 at 9:06 pm

Ruger is probably happy with the 10/22 market share and is going to build centerfires for their company’s market.
It’s just smart business… At least they saved some of the Marlin line that Remington nearly destroyed.
Yall Take Care and be safe, John

  37. Henry Payton on October 31, 2021 at 9:06 pm

Henry is a fine rifle and I gave my grandson a 22 lever for Christmas but I have to admit I’ve got a Marlin 39 that I have had since 1975 and wouldn’t swap for 2 Henry’s.I also have 2 Marlin 336 models, one in 30-30 and the other in 35 cal.I can only hope Ruger carries on with as fine a manufacturing as Marlin.

  38. shadowdawg04 on October 31, 2021 at 9:07 pm

My Marlin 35 Remington is the best mountain and heavy timber rifle… inside two hundred yards it is simply right as rain!!!

  39. Henauder Titzauf on October 31, 2021 at 9:08 pm

I have a great Marlin 9422M. Bought it about 10 years ago for $275.00 out the door! Great rifle, great product. I hear they are about $1,000 to $1,500 now, if one could be had. I also have a Remington 597M that I bought at Cabelas for $179.00 on sale. Both excellent guns and all are on my will donor list. I hope Ruger/Marlin will be a great marriage. We need the Marlins at a decent price!

  40. John Norman on October 31, 2021 at 9:09 pm

I hope to have a 336A. Things are so weird though, that I’m not sure if anything will ever approach anything "normal" again. If you can’t buy all the ammo you can afford on demand, I don’t know what point there is in dreaming about a new gun. Might be fun to dream but seriously, all the "feel good" and "fun" evaporated from the hobby and sport over the last year. Ammo that’s now 2 1/2 times what sale price I paid for it in Dec. 2019 doesn’t motivate me to tear off my back pocket to buy guns or ammo and be happy with it.

  41. Charles Cho on October 31, 2021 at 9:13 pm

Great that Ruger bought Marlin and will continue their lever guns. Just spent a year looking for an 1866 Winchester Yellowboy. Fine gun but would have much rather it say 44-40 made by Ruger instead of Miroku.

  42. David Hopkins on October 31, 2021 at 9:13 pm

Hopefully they make some takedowns, or something to match that 8 shot .357 revolver.

  43. ssanderford63 on October 31, 2021 at 9:15 pm

I would bet the title to my truck that Ruger never brings back the model 60. Why would they want to bring back what is basically the only historic competitor to the 10/22?

  44. sleevey on October 31, 2021 at 9:15 pm

I love 45-70 dark and I have a Henry long ranger and a chiappa 357 mares leg but have had many problems with both so I’m waiting to get another Marlin dark in 44 to top of my lever gun collection. Or the SBL. It’s the rails and threaded barrel that I want on my levers. My old man eyes need at least a x2 to see normal targets clearly and I’d rather it just come with the rifle. The Dark series also has a hardened stalk Finnish like Rino coated to take all the banging around I do trying to stuff more rifles in my safe and dropped from my end gate .

So keep going Marlin. I can’t wait forever or I’ll have to mount it on my. Grave stone

  45. Jody Followwell on October 31, 2021 at 9:16 pm

I bought a used Marlin model 1894 .357 lever gun in 1990 and have always loved it and still do. It was stolen from my home by someone on foot. It laid in the woods for two months until my neighbor found it and returned it to me. After a good cleaning it still operated like it always had. I will buy another Marlin after Ruger gets things going. I’m interested in a 350 Legend and Ruger makes them. I wonder if they would make a lever action in 350 legend?

  46. David Edward on October 31, 2021 at 9:18 pm

Ruger made 1894 in 44 magnum with a .429 Ballard cut bore with a 1 in 20 twist.
What Marlin should have made imho.
I would like it in a pistol style wood rifle stock instead of the straight grip. 16.5” and 20” round barrels. Also in 357 magnum.
    My (Dream Guns).
Ps .454 Cassule 1895 would be a great southern Michigan and Ohio hunting gun.

  47. Oreo Puppy dawg on October 31, 2021 at 9:19 pm

If the 39 was first everyone would buy one and wait on the others

  48. William Sirman on October 31, 2021 at 9:19 pm

The worst aspect of the 22LR Firearms Category right now is… Ammo being $90/120.00 a Brick! It’s killing sales of 22LR Firearms. Worse yet, many new shooters will never enter the Shooting Sports with Ammunition prices as high as they currently are! The Ammunition Manufactures should remember, that 22 Caliber Rim fire Firearms, are often the "Entry Level Drug" to the Shooting Sports! Many young shooters will never get their first firearms experience, at $100.00 a Brick! As with many commodity shortages, such as Ammo, Gas, and Toilet Paper, the Price never Comes Down Again After the "Shortage is Over" for a reason, and that "Reason" is Greed! They’ve got us when it Comes to Toilet Paper and Gas, but so far as Ammunition goes, not so much! They’d better remember that or suffer the economic repercussions! So wait until those prices drop, before you start replenishing your ammo supply, or the prices will never drop! Now you know the Rest of the Story!

  49. cavscout62 on October 31, 2021 at 9:19 pm

Still have a Golden 39A and it’s as accurate as it was when I was 10 years old and that was around 50 years ago. Love it!
