MY RUGER 57 UPGRADES: 1.)-> HOLOSUN 509T circle/dot fully enclosed sight. My gunsmith drilled the holes to mount the included HOLOSUN plate on the RUGER slide.  2.)-> black Cerakoted the slide 3.)-> painted rearmost surface of the hammer WHITE to easily see if it is cocked 4.)-> The Vest Guy Cordura cloth double mag pouch 5.)-> RUGER Kydex OWB style holster 6.)-> 3rd magazine (2 in double pouch, one in the pistol) Sixty rounds total!
PLUS, for my PS90, 5 mags, 4 in two double mag pouches on my vest. ZOMBIES BEWARE! 210 rounds of badassery.

  4. GLOCK-23 THE WIRE!! on December 3, 2021 at 6:53 pm

It has to be a better name for adjusting your sights then SLAVE!!! CUT IT OUT BUDDY!!

  5. kbfromvt on December 3, 2021 at 6:55 pm

I don’t believe that’s a "different hex key" but rather what they call "Torx". I think possibly a T-15 to be exact in this case.

  6. S&W DoubleTapper on December 3, 2021 at 6:56 pm

Just use a 5.7mm shell laser bore sighter.

  7. Abecension on December 3, 2021 at 7:00 pm

This guy is so full of poo it’s coming out of his ears.

  8. Aaron Novotney on December 3, 2021 at 7:01 pm

instead of that slaving–could you use a laser bore sighter?

  9. Jerm on December 3, 2021 at 7:02 pm

So it looks like we should avoid FN ammunition in the Ruger 57

  10. DatBoiGelo on December 3, 2021 at 7:02 pm

I just purchased one thursday tested it sunday ran into 1 or 2 jams but cleared the chamber and fired ok where could I get the rounds in the red box from and the ss198’s

  11. Mike Taylor on December 3, 2021 at 7:03 pm

Thank you for the info I was wondering about how it would work

  12. Heretic on December 3, 2021 at 7:04 pm

Ive read the optic weight causes various problems with cycling.

  13. john greene on December 3, 2021 at 7:04 pm

I bought the federal American eagles and the ruger hates that shit. Completely tears it up

  14. Mixed Marksman on December 3, 2021 at 7:05 pm

    I know you didn’t just say you shot a 9 mm better than a 57 🤦

  15. GhosT 88 on December 3, 2021 at 7:06 pm

There is an issue with this firearm or the dude running it. Rds off a rest it should literally keyhole the same spot over and over at 10 yards. Wtf ? This dude a noob or the firearm?

  16. Glonks on December 3, 2021 at 7:06 pm

The Vortex adds too much weight with those crappy underpowered Federal rounds.
The 40 grain V-max & the Federal rounds are underpowered junk, so they will have trouble running the slide with the optic on it.

SS195LF, SS198LF, EA T6B, Vanguard BFD & rounds like that are the ones you want to run.

  17. Master_Misanthrope on December 3, 2021 at 7:07 pm

I’m fairly sure this was designed for hunting replicants…

  18. stuzinno2 on December 3, 2021 at 7:10 pm

I just got my R57 yesterday… so excited to get this thang to the range… thanx for the vid with the Vortex Venom…

  19. Alcoholocaust on December 3, 2021 at 7:11 pm

If you are missing with this gun it is your fault dude. I put 200 rounds thru mine exactly where I pointed it and I can’t shoot for shit.

  20. stuzinno2 on December 3, 2021 at 7:13 pm

thanx bro you really helped me out with the mounting of an optic… although I went with the Burris Fast Fire 3… cant beat the (Forever Warranty:No Questions Asked) love the vids keep bringing us the goodstuff

  21. Jordan Wigley on December 3, 2021 at 7:13 pm

Do you have any feeding issues after mounting venom? I do for the first cpl rounds I mean I already did cuz the mags are shit but I fixed that now the red dots making it jam

  22. HoboJoe022 on December 3, 2021 at 7:13 pm

Shout out to Outer impact for where I got my sight plate from, you can use just about any commercially available red dot on the ruger 57 with it. https://outerimpact.com/shop/ruger-57-pistol-red-dot-adapter-mount-m-r-a-copy/ PS.where did you buy your ammo?

  23. Dom sugar on December 3, 2021 at 7:17 pm

That’s funny none of my screws that I have fit the mounting plate on my Ruger there’s only one set of screws and I have that fit but they’re just a little too long not even the ones that came with my Vortex Viper don’t even fit that’s weird

  24. BUDDY on December 3, 2021 at 7:19 pm

    WILL THE VORTEX RAZOR FIT.

  25. Danny O'Connor on December 3, 2021 at 7:19 pm

Very good ammo review with the 57

  26. John Saxtorph on December 3, 2021 at 7:20 pm

For God’s sake do NOT make Ruger 57 your carry gun! Be aware of the lack of firing pin drop safety (Instructional manual, page 22)!!! https://ruger-docs.s3.amazonaws.com/_manuals/Ruger-57-5Grk6FEwx7.pdf
"For maximum safety when carrying the pistol with a loaded magazine in place, the chamber should be empty"

  27. STONEY WAN-KENOBI on December 3, 2021 at 7:20 pm

1/16 Allen is super sloppy in my set screws, any ideas? Ty

  28. Andrettski on December 3, 2021 at 7:23 pm

I put just 40 rounds of Federal so far, no issues. I haven’t shot the same FN you shot(red and blue box)yet, but ready to put the Venom on it. I’m praying it doesn’t effect the cycling. Thanks for the vid.

  29. Andrettski on December 3, 2021 at 7:24 pm

That paper target movin’ around in the wind probably doesn’t give accurate results. Anchor that target stand down.

  30. Steezy Fishing on December 3, 2021 at 7:25 pm

Didn’t even show the red dot

  31. Michelle Schranz on December 3, 2021 at 7:26 pm

    well done

  32. Chris Maness on December 3, 2021 at 7:28 pm

All shots high and left. I’d say this is more of a shooter issue than an issue with accuracy of pistol. I have the gun, have used various rounds in it, and can honestly say after close to 500 rounds, only seen one jam. Never had an extraction issue, nor a feed issue. It’s a nice gun, with either iron sights or optics.

  33. EL OFICIAL FREDDY on December 3, 2021 at 7:29 pm

I Think by you Adding the Mounting Plate and the Red dot Sight you have added weight to the Slide Causing MalFunction…These 5.7×28 pistol need to have a light weight Slide.

  34. Bizill on December 3, 2021 at 7:35 pm

I just put on the same Venom last week. The Ruger mounting plate screws already had thread locker on them. But the problem came when I went to use the screws that came with the Venom. They bottomed out on the top of the slide as I see yours did as well. But mine never came close to tightening the red dot at all. I had to use my belt sander to shave off a few thousandths from both. I don’t recall what how long the started out as but I shaved them down to 0.380" and they seat well without bottoming out on the slide. My slide has permanent marks from the screws now as yours does.

I’ve read about the issues with the weight of the red dots, and with the plate we must use, well, that’s that much more weight. A weaker spring might help with the rearward travel of the slide, but the same weaker spring might cause problems with the next round feeding. I haven’t taken my R57 out to shoot it yet since mounting the Venom. I purchased only 1,000 rnds of ss198lf and won’t use anything else. And I won’t feel confident with the setup unless I can shoot at least 500 rounds without any type of failure. Otherwise it’s the G17 that stays by my side in the mean time.

  35. Eloy Lopez on December 3, 2021 at 7:38 pm

Oh thank the Emperor I was kinda bummed that it didn’t have any rails on top but now I know the items I needs to get and remember knowing is half the battle. 😁Thanks for the vid gots me a new sub on the youstube

  36. Levi May on December 3, 2021 at 7:38 pm

My R57 hasn’t jammed once with around 200 rounds thru it

  37. GhosT 88 on December 3, 2021 at 7:39 pm

Between the failures and the PISS POOR accuracy I will not be owning this caliber once again lol

  38. Khy on December 3, 2021 at 7:39 pm

    What about the feeding issues

  39. Ben Sosa on December 3, 2021 at 7:39 pm

Why buy a ruger 57 when you can buy an FN57💯💯💯

  40. bape on December 3, 2021 at 7:39 pm

It jammed because its the poor man 57

  41. GLOCK-23 THE WIRE!! on December 3, 2021 at 7:40 pm

  46. Ed Par on December 3, 2021 at 7:43 pm

  47. GUNS R US on December 3, 2021 at 7:44 pm

  49. Chaos being dumb on December 3, 2021 at 7:51 pm

  50. Steve H on December 3, 2021 at 7:51 pm

Never tighten one screw or bolt or anything completely before putting in the other screw nut Bolt excetera. Never! Every school boy should know that.
You must not be very mechanically inclined.
