For that price tag and all they give you is a rifle case and a 20 round magazine, shame on Daniel Defense

Been eyeballing this for a while now. Thanks Jonny

  3. Absolute Resolution on November 8, 2021 at 5:57 pm

At that price you shouldn’t have to replace the trigger. DD is getting greedy!!

  4. Emel on November 8, 2021 at 5:59 pm

just started looking for one in .308, these things are unicorns

I had a DD5V2 and it was the worst rifle I have ever delt with. I was having gas issues at first (wouldn’t chamber the next round and double feeds). I sent it back to DD and then I was having failure to fires with light primer strikes. I literally could not get more the 15 rounds down range without a malfunction. Oh, and the detent charging handle sucked ass. Anyways, I sent it back to DD and they told me that they would replace the rifle with any DD5 V3, V4 or V5. I thought that was pretty bad ass! I went with the V4 Ambush in 6.5. This gun has run awesome so far. I’ve shot 5 different loads and no hickups. This is the gun I thought the DD5V2 was going to be. The Ambush does have a better trigger than the black guns and they did away with that junk detent charging handle. They definitely fixed the issues with the V1 and V2.

I am working on going to Buck Doyle at Q ranch. This seems to be the correct rifle for that purpose. Can reach out to 600 meters and will handle moving with a rifle well. I also like the fact the 6.5 creedmore round flies through the air better and doesn’t get blown around by the wind. Mike.

  9. LinearTactics on November 8, 2021 at 6:08 pm

I tried that under crown 12 it’s was strong

  10. David on November 8, 2021 at 6:08 pm

From what I’ve read, this comes right out of the box with most, if not all, the bells and whistles. Looking forward to a disassembly

For what it’s worth, the cases DD includes with rifles are crap. Flimsy junk suggesting they don’t think the rifle is worth protecting.

  20. GrapeApe369 on November 8, 2021 at 6:29 pm

There are assemblers and there are builders. DD are builders. Solgw for example are assemblers

    18" barrel for a 6.5cm ahh no

  22. Paul Ganze on November 8, 2021 at 6:30 pm

The price! That is big hurt territory.

  23. StuntmanMike1978 on November 8, 2021 at 6:31 pm

I got a DD5 in 762 a few years back. Accurate, reliable, and worth it. I put PA glass on mine too.

  24. roninpainbringer on November 8, 2021 at 6:33 pm

can you mod it out or are the parts proprietary like the S&W MP10? say if i wanna change out the stock to a magpul STR and the grip to a magpul MOE grip?

  25. Aaron on November 8, 2021 at 6:37 pm

I started my run with the 6.5CREEDMOOR with a Wilson Combat 6.5 Super Sniper, 20" barrel. Talk about a sweet performer! It generally takes all my shitty reloads and adores factory ammo.
Not to make things complicated, my 2nd CREEDMOOR was a Bergara B14 HMR. I am still working out the load details on this rifle but it shoots like a dream with potential for smaller groups.
Either way, both these rifles outperform my limited skills but I believe I made good choices. I have a Burris XTR II 8x40x50 on the Bergara (at the moment) and an EOTECH Vudu 5-25×50 FFP coming for the WC. Will look all barney-bad-ass, n shit.
Enjoyed your video! just adding my $0.02

An AR-15 should be ok to 300 meters for an average marksman.

The 6.5 Creedmoor’s main function should be accuracy beyond that range.

A Savage 110 Tactical has a good trigger (as opposed to the DD5 V4) and with reasonable glass and match ammo can be consistent around 1 MOA at 1,000 meters. Price: deals for this Savage at about $550.00.

It does not have the rate of fire of an AR-10, but it can easily be fitted with > 20 round AICS magazines.

Also, with the scarcity and high prices of good ammo now, training with an AR-10 in 6.5 Creedmoor can be much more expensive than a bolt action rifle in this calibre.

If the goal is accuracy at > 300 meters, then I don’t see the point in spending so much money on a DD5V4 which will need a new trigger and almost certainly will miss targets the Savage can consistently hit.

Let me know what’s wrong with my analysis. Thanks!

  27. Rudolph Ferdinand on November 8, 2021 at 6:38 pm

I would not that $2500.00 is a lot of bucks for an AR-10 in 6.5 Creedmoor. I built one 18 months ago weighing-in @ 11 pounds w/24" barrel (C/F-BSF) with TriggerTech-AR Diamond trigger set @ 1.5 pounds, sweet! without scope $2100/ w/ scope $2700. I have two bolt guns in 6.5 CM; number one is a bolt/AR-10 conversion, and the other Browning XBolt 6.5 CM; the AR-10 6.5 CM very accurate, whereas the XBolt not too good, but okay to hunt with, good.

  28. Tone Griffey on November 8, 2021 at 6:38 pm

So I have to replace the trigger on a 2K+ rifle? In what way is that acceptable? For this price point they should have included a top shelf trigger. Isn’t the trigger the one of the ways the firearm isn’t a big paper weight? When will we stop settling for this? When will we, the consumer, stand up to this nonsense and demand more. DD didn’t break into this market and earn our business by shortchanging us and neither should they stay in the market by doing so.

  32. Conan Mills on November 8, 2021 at 6:47 pm

We, my wife and I, have 6.5 CM in both bolt and semi auto. I have the Ruger RPR and hers is an Aero M5 I built for her for Christmas. I used a Criterion barrel on it and it shoots sub MOA with Hornady 140 ELD-M and right about MOA with Winchester 140 Match. Being patient and hitting the sales, I put it together for right around $1K.

  33. dustbustr91 on November 8, 2021 at 6:49 pm

    sub optimal barrel lengths.
