Red Dot Mounting Guide for M&P 2.0 optics cut pistols.

Red Dot Mounting Guide for M&P 2.0 optics cut pistols.

I help you find which screws and plates you’ll need to mount your red dot to your M&P pistol. Since my last video, almost a year ago, I’ve been asked about what plates and screws I used to mount my red dot. With all the red dot combinations out on the market there is no way I could go over all of them. So I made this mounting guide to help you figure out what will work for your pistol and red dot.

How do you like the accuracy on the mp9 2.0? I’m looking into getting one over the Glock 19 mos.

Mine has a little notch like a little bolt or pin sticking up not allowing the plate to lay flush

I have a psa dagger docter footprint if I got your holosun sight does that mean I don’t need an adapter plate?

I called S&W about which plate to use on a M&P 2.0 metal. They said to use the #3/Doctor. It would not fit so I called back and they said that they were mistaken.
That I should use plate #5 with screw type
“C”. I put it on (it’s a tight fit) shot 400 rounds and it’s working fine.

One question type 3 plate fits with my dot but the plastic bump it’s in front instead of the back but the bolts align it’s that fine ? Thanks

I used the screws for the delta point pro, with this same optic. The holosun 507c x2.

This process also works if you are using optics like the Holosun 509T-RD that comes with a metal adapter plate. You’ll use the same process I show in the video, but instead you’re going to try fitting the plastic plates to the metal adapter instead of the optic itself.

I’ve been hearing from other gun channels that the plastic mounts are crap and the red dot ends up moving a bit, I’m trying to find the metal plate that I need for the AT3 tactical ARO Micro Red Dot Sight. Any Ideas on how I find such plate?

my 2.0 has a smooth slide. i dont have the 2 screws that he removed at the beginning of the video.

  13. EpicGamerNik on January 30, 2023 at 2:18 am

Where can I purchase the plates from the beginning of the video? I got this gun as airsoft and it didn’t come with those.

  14. Shaun Sian on January 30, 2023 at 2:19 am

Don’t use the Holosun screw that came with the optic because apparently everything I’ve seen videos wise the screws that come with Holosun optics snap or shear off

  15. Dan Jones on January 30, 2023 at 2:25 am

Do they make a 45 compact version ready for optics?

  16. He Not I on January 30, 2023 at 2:26 am

you can flip down the sear deactivation lever to disengage the slide from lower receiver. Thus not having to “drop”the hammer when removing the slide.

can’t thank you enough. I’m about the build exactly what you did here with the Holosun and a M&P, so this was perfect.

What’s a good holster for the optic on the gun and possibly a pouch for a extra mag?

  19. John Poitevin on January 30, 2023 at 2:29 am

Did you find that the provided Holosun screws had enough thread engagement to keep the optic mounted properly and securely?

I didn’t get one dose somebody have a link to where I can buy this plate kit

  21. Brian Baldwin on January 30, 2023 at 2:31 am

Great tutorial, thanks! I already bought a plate from C&H Precision when I didn’t see the Holosun listed in the book. "Learning by doing."

  22. Richard Hill on January 30, 2023 at 2:36 am

    Very helpful, thanks.

  23. Jonathan M on January 30, 2023 at 2:36 am

Thanks for the video. I’ve mounted plenty of optics on glocks/cz’s but with my 2nd hand m&p 2.0, i didnt have the instruction book and the amount of plates had me confused.

  24. Ross Scarsellato on January 30, 2023 at 2:37 am

First step, throw away the bag that came with your m&p. Next, order a real plate from c&h precision.
