*NEW* Mossberg 940 JM PRO Shotgun!

*NEW* Mossberg 940 JM PRO Shotgun!

Join me as I take a first look at the Brand New Mossberg 940 JM PRO Shotgun. A truly turnkey competition 12 gauge shotgun that has significant improvements over the older Mossberg 930 models.

First and foremost, the gas system was re-engineered. This lets the new 940 go well beyond 1000 rounds before it requires cleaning. Additionally the entire Loading Port has been reworked to facilitate faster reloads.

The Shotgun also features an adjustable length of pull, 9+1 capacity, Briley choke tubes, oversized charging handle and bolt release button as well as two color options, Tungsten Grey or Multicam Black. With a MSRP of $1015, there is a lot of value packed into the new Mossberg 940 JM PRO.

  7. SBE Precision Products on November 13, 2021 at 6:15 pm

Run the 940 side by side with a 930 that has the Or3gun Marine Spacer, and an SBE Precision Products stainless steel competition piston. You will be quite surprised by what a tuned 930 is capable of. Just for fun look at the 940 spacer and 940 piston compared to the 930 upgrade parts. See where Mossberg may have drawn some "inspiration"? If you need would like to try the 930 piston please let me know.

  11. BeaverDAMage on November 13, 2021 at 6:17 pm

Really bummed out that this gun came out like 3 months after I bought the 930 JM Pro which everyone including mossberg called "a competition ready shotgun"

  12. John Quinn on November 13, 2021 at 6:17 pm

The repeated mispronounciation of Miculek is just too much for me to handle. Like seriously?!

  13. Sir Frydryk on November 13, 2021 at 6:19 pm

Really nice, but I don’t think it would work well as a home defense arm.

  14. Natán Lee on November 13, 2021 at 6:19 pm

Well I still love my 930 pro.

The JMpro 930 is a black mark on Mossberg…the early shotguns are plagued with problems. It is not a shotgun that works out of the box. A 1000 rounds between cleaning is a joke…the gun gets worse over time no matter how much you clean it. There are aftermarket parts that vastly improve the performance. Cheap workmanship and manufacturing shortcuts takes its toll on the gun…piston ring design in the gas system fills with carbon build up…like it was designed for that purpose. The recoil spring bites into the the guide rod actually shaving off metal depositing it into the recoil spring tube…a $700 gun mind you. This is not the mossberg I grew up with…instead of owning up to the problems, mossberg will tell you that you need to clean it. DON’T BUY MOSSBERG…BUYER BEWARE. I was going to buy a saiga, but with Mossberg + jerry = I thought I couldn’t go wrong. That was a big mistake.

I just bought this 940 brand new a few days ago on August 28, 2021 for home defense and plinking. I have not fired it once. While searching for videos on Youtube on how to disassemble this gun and clean it, I came across a video that someone put up showing this thing jamming very badly. After watching it, I was worried and wondered if mine was ok. So, I decided to manually cycle rounds through it, without firing the gun, to see if mine would properly cycle. So, I loaded it with four rounds of new Winchester 2 3/4 inch and four shells of a Turkish brand ammo that I bought(there was no American ammo) when I picked up my gun from the store…..eight rounds total in the magazine. I began my test by manually pulling back the operating handle quickly, which put a round from the magazine into the port, and then letting the handle go to chamber the round. Almost every second or third pull of the handle caused a jam just like in that "jamming" video. I tested the gun for twenty minutes this way experiencing a round getting stuck in the loading port and not chambering almost every other pull. At one point, the gun actually chambered a round loading the gun while trying to simultaneously place TWO ROUNDS in the loading port…one round was entirely in the port while the other was partially sticking out of the magazine and partially in the port jamming it against an the other round sitting in the port. It was jammed so badly that it took a half hour for me to figure out how to unjam the rounds from the loading port. All this happened while a round was still in the chamber loaded which I could not remove because after unjamming the port with the two rounds, the bolt got locked in the forward position and I cannot open it to eject the round…the operating handle and bolt are jammed shut. Now I have to send this brand new, never fired gun back to Mossberg with it loaded. After I get it back, I’ll sell it….for a huge loss no doubt. Just think, for a couple hundred dollars more I could have bought a Binelli…..smfh

Worth buying if I just want a cool shotgun that’s not as expensive as an M4?

  42. Braxton Sweat on November 13, 2021 at 6:57 pm

If you have a 930, just check out OR3GUN and SBE Precisions Piston. They came out with the same gas sytem improvements first. Almost like mossberg copied them. Plus you can get an adjustable spring retainer and other small things. Because of them I’d put my 930 up against that 940 any day.
