M&P Compact vs M&P Shield – Buying choices/decisions
M&P Compact vs M&P Shield – Buying choices/decisions
The M&P compact and new M&P shield are pretty similar guns. This video shares my thoughts and opinions on the similarities and differences between the 2 and some thoughts on which to get or if its worth getting both.
Here is a review that my friend wrote about the M&P Shield
http://thrumylens.org/featured/review-of-the-smith-wesson-mp-shield-9mm/
I have them both the 9c and the shield 2.0 and the original shield 9 I tend to go for the 2.0
You need some stuff like this *mrmasterglock on Wickr * is helpful on that I get some weapons for the store ..
You can go to ets or one these other distributors and get a extended mag for the shield, right? Iโve seen shields with 21 shots.
Just got th SHIELD only 1 thing I missed wen I bought it is that it does not have a place to putt a light.
2021-try getting either! Great video, I have the Shield, but wish I bought the compact as well! SIGH.
Thanks for the comparison! Great video
I’m sold on the compact due to being left handed ๐
I belwive its time to compare the 9c with the new shield plus.
Drums and guns. I can dig that man.
๐
I love my shield. I did so much research on each before i decided to buy the shield. Weird i didnt see this before while researching which was 2 years ago..I love the shield so much. No regrets in buying it whatsoever. But if i had seen this vid back then, i wouldve maybe got the compact first. But hey this just means imma get the compact and shield now.
I have the shield ez 380 I love it all around looked other brands the shield 380 is the one for me
The shield sucks compact rules
i have the shield is it worth getting the compact?
Have a shield love it wouldnโt waste my money getting a m&p 9c. More magazines can always be brought
You don’t have that choice in CA.
I just bought an M&P 45 CMP 10+1 -MA ….. in 2020 for $319.97 from Cabela’s
How did you put the empty magazines in and release the slide?
Some states will not allow any modifications to a weapon other then changing the sights, if you plan on carrying it as a concealed carry. I know in California when you apply for your concealed weapons permit the authorities will tell you that you CCW is not valid if any alterations are made to your firearm. As a side note to the ladies (and I guess also to some "men") never carry your pistol in your purse. Always have it on your person.
Me: โthereโs a compact?! ๐โ
I Love The Pro..I Have 2.0..I Had The Compact 8 Years Ago..I Enjoy The Hand Grip Chance..But The 2.0 WO4KS WELL..I Like The 8 Shot Slim Hand
I would take the contact
Anybody else having a hard time focusing on the guns because youโre staring at his watch? Yeah, me neither ๐
How dumb are you the main meg that comes with the m&p9c is a 15 round and the next step up is a 17 round meg
I have never got the problem with a thumb safety. Dont use it if you dont like it. For me, I only chamber when I have a thumb safety engaged, then practice my draw from a kydex holster and its pretty easy to coordinate the safety release as you draw and bring up the weapon to firing position. Its seamless and becomes second nature. You cant hear a thumb release because it happens as you remove it from a kydex holster and that’s what I practiced…a draw, thumb release in the same motion, ready to fire when you bring it up and not being able to hear the release.
do they make a bigger magazine for the Shield ?????
get the compact nothing less than a 19 grip no pinky no carry and just download mag 8-12rds donโt single stack ๐คฃa downloaded sd9 still lighter than a shield plus singles canโt take extended mags
The compact. ๐
Great video. I was always a glock person ,i have experience with the glock 17 , i was in the market for a glock 26 for CCW. However now the S&W mp9 C is really captivating me, and the price it really making it a worth wild choice. I also still love S&W J frame revolvers. Im very good and proficient with both. any viewers have any comment on which to chose form CCW?
Nice glock is with *mrmasterglock on wickr* I just got mine from him, it glock19
Thanks for this video. I have a 2.0 compact and had wondered how much smaller the shield is. Not really small enough for me to want one.
I’d go with the Shield Plus. ๐
Once again, thanks for taking the time!
Did he just say David Bowie carries an m&p (or atleast did before he died)
He said David Bowie right
13 min comparison video, never mentioned the lack of safety on the compact
Both great guns, all depends on your intended use for each. Each is great for conceal carry. The 9c adds more versality though if it’s going to be maybe your first or only gun. I have the shield but if I didn’t own any other guns I would buy the 9c because I have the ability to use larger capacity magazines for home defense. I like the shield because I can carry anywhere from 7+1 rounds for deep concealment or up to 10+1 with mag extensions if I really need the extra rounds. I usually carry 9+1 and a 10 round magazine for backup.
Good informative video. I enjoyed your commentary. Thanks for posting.
Where did you get the trigger you have in your m&p , not the Apex the other trigger !!
I have a M&P 40 shield compact I was wondering if they make any mags other than the stock 6 and 7 that come with it? I would really like to find a 10rnd mag for it at least
I have 5 shield that range from 9 to .45 and also have 2.0 compact 9.mm 15 round. I love them all but the compact is to big for me to carry.
I bought the shield9 w/no safety. because coronavirus really put a damper on what was available.
However at $349 vs the glock 43… I might have went shield anyways.
and I think I need to add the Performance Center M&P 40 ported 4.25
Is the Barrel for the M&P Shield interchangeable/swappable with the M&P compacts barrel?
Great review you’ve made up my mind I have the 2.0 compact, wanted to get the new shield Plus because of weight but like you say 3 oz ain’t much. Love my 2.0 compact, I’ll just deal with it !
Nice review. I have both guns. The Shield is what I carry when all I’m wearing is a t-shirt. Otherwise, the Compact is what I normally EDC.
Came to look at the guns but that gmt master Pepsi is catching my eye more lol
Good info. Players choice that’s for sure. having 16 rounds is nice, but heavy. I use LIBERTY ammo that’s super light when I carry 10+ rounds. big difference.light ammo. What capacity using this gun is how you decide. Id use it for Everyday carry as we majority dread that heavy gun on a 78 degree day at the beach.
First, I’d buy slightly USED ( either one) in case you want to buy both !I
If You want new, I’d buy the Shield, save the $120=tax and buy 3-4 extra clips. If money wasn’t a problem buy the Compact to keep in the car too.( If its too heavy, your not going to carry it into the Resturant, party or bar.)
Or skip the Shield and buy a used Body Guard 380 and take the new/used Shield Compact is a nice combo too. I like the Body guard its easy to toss in your pocket and I can keep it in my pocket at work.
In the real world do I need more than 7+1 rounds? Not me. How many years did people have one choice. Revolver. Always worked, no safety nothing to think about. 6 shots and 5 in a small frame.
To many movies and TV shows with endless shoot outs.
That’s what makes the decision process difficult for people, they don’t think about real-world situations and why are they carrying it in the first place. If we’re not going on the battlefield I know looking to protect ourselves or our family knowing how to place a round . In my particular situation it’s not necessary for me to have an abundance of Firepower.
Pepsi Rollie ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฅ
Thank u
Very nice thank you for showing it on you tube have a nice day ๐
Let’s be clear, this the 9c not the 9 Compact? The 9 Compact is the 2.0 version and is bigger than the 9c and was released 5 years after tis video was made.
