M&P 2.0 Optics Ready 9mm with new style trigger

M&P 2.0 Optics Ready 9mm with new style trigger

Just showing some of the differences between this and the older curved style trigger.

EDIT: I think I may have said I torqued to 10-12 foot pounds, rest assured, I meant 10-12 INCH pounds. INCH pounds is correct, not foot. Foot pounds+ loctite or something similar and you’ll break the screws.

Update: These are the most proper screws that have been found according to pistol-forum. The screws that come with the M&P, none of them are designated for holosuns OR RMR. It just says “Use trijicon supplied screws.” Those partciular screws are the same screws holosun provides. However, they’re not nearly as long as they should be. These screws are much longer

@RANDY_MARSH What trigger and suppressor night sights do you have on your S&W M&P9 2.0?

  3. J Taylor on August 23, 2022 at 8:03 pm

The triggers keep getting better. I have the 10mm and the Shield Plus. The Shield Plus trigger is superior. not a night day difference, but definitely better. Whatever they did with the Shield Plus trigger they need to add to the M2.0s. I see no need for an Apex with the Shield Plus. the others I do.

  4. Frankie Wesson on August 23, 2022 at 8:10 pm

Good review but I totally disagree with you on the triggers. Just my preference, but this is the 1st of many M&P’s that I didn’t replace the trigger with an Apex flatly. I love the new trigger. Hated the old ones.

  5. Nasir on August 23, 2022 at 8:10 pm

Is the new trigger plastic, it looks flimsy.

  6. Vonte Mac on August 23, 2022 at 8:11 pm

Finally the 2.0 is a complete handgun.

  7. Nobody on August 23, 2022 at 8:11 pm

The new triggers seem to be $100 in cost difference between the same optics ready models. The older rounder trigger is $100 cheaper. You think it’s really worth that difference in price considering after market?

  8. VampMedia on August 23, 2022 at 8:13 pm

People focus to much on reset.

All opinions on what gun to buy. Zero problems on my VP9. 5k rounds. Work in the ammo industry. We test like no other…But my other pistols had problems. On my M&Ps and 1 glock.

  13. RELLIK on August 23, 2022 at 8:20 pm

Can u get that flat trigger on the non optics 2.0?

  14. C Lowe on August 23, 2022 at 8:20 pm

Good video showing the differences. I went to CZ a few years back, but really looking at switching to M&P due to lack of available CZ parts and thier LE/MIL program going down hill.

I swapped to a APEX flat faced on my new M&P m2.0 Compact and the uptake and break is of course much better…but the reset while shorter isn’t anymore tactile vs the stock flat faced trigger…must just be the way the geometry of the gun is set up…still worth money for the apex on the M&P

  20. Gspeed214 on August 23, 2022 at 8:27 pm

Did you use the screws that came with the optic or the ones that came with the gun

  22. Justin Burnette on August 23, 2022 at 8:29 pm

Is the grip on the flat face trigger the same as the regular 2.0? Or closer to the shield plus? As far as texture. Thanks.

  23. sircharlescv on August 23, 2022 at 8:30 pm

M&P 2.0 hinged trigger is horrible, traded this gun in because of this reason. Now comes with bad*ss flat trigger !! Looks like I’m gonna buy me another M&P

  24. Khan Cordice on August 23, 2022 at 8:30 pm

Which of the Holosuns are you rocking?

  25. Plox Plox on August 23, 2022 at 8:31 pm

is it lower 1/3 co witness with that red dot that what I really want ???

  26. David 99 on August 23, 2022 at 8:32 pm

Cool video, I don’t see the trigger being a problem if the issue is not hearing it, triggers are more of a feel thing , I guess pistols these days changed the mind set

  27. Daric on August 23, 2022 at 8:32 pm

Thanks for the video. I dry fired a ton of M&Ps to compare against the new trigger at the shop. I actually felt the reset on the Compact with the new trigger was better than the Shield Plus models with the same flat trigger that I tried. Being able to use full-sized or compact mags and the rail for using lights or lasers convinced me to get the Compact over the Shield Plus.

  28. Cracker on August 23, 2022 at 8:36 pm

Nice video, I was gonna ask what you do for work but I don’t think it would be smart to for safety reasons just cause how this world is today, please do make more videos.

Nice pistol bedroom is a disgrace.

  34. mmafanatic1992 on August 23, 2022 at 8:42 pm

My local range just got this gun and the take-up is very gritty and it feels like as if they have sand inside the trigger. The break was crisp. That’s about it.

  35. Aron Stensaa on August 23, 2022 at 8:42 pm

why did they take away the reset so, annoying err!

  36. Phoenix Skeptic on August 23, 2022 at 8:44 pm

    Clean up your room man.

  37. Brian Johnson on August 23, 2022 at 8:44 pm

Where did you find the flat face trigger that you have on your 2.0 ?? I would love to get one of them triggers for my 9c and 40c

  38. resolute123 on August 23, 2022 at 8:47 pm

Sadly the Shield Plus has the best trigger, both break and reset. The new 2.0s flat face trigger were disappointing.

  39. Dynasty 22 on August 23, 2022 at 8:48 pm

Damnit Smith and Wesson I just want a apex trigger for my duty gun ffs

  40. Trent Rockwell on August 23, 2022 at 8:48 pm

Smith really should just team up with Apex and make them standard they would sell waaaay more of them I love my m&p’s but even with the 2.0 when I felt good glock or Sig triggers it left a ton to be desired now that I have an apex flatty it blows all other triggers besides a 1911 trigger out of the water both the break and reset are unmatched

  42. Todd Parsons on August 23, 2022 at 8:51 pm

A seems like S&W has gone way up in life across all firearms, their new ARs are much more expensive.

Oh make your bed you slob.

  43. Two wheeling Nut on August 23, 2022 at 8:52 pm

Good review. I have been looking for this. I have a 2.0 5” FDE that I just installed the Apex poly trigger on and what a difference. I am interested in one of the new 2.0 with the flat face trigger but haven’t seen one at my FFL. Not sure about it yet but I see one coming down the road. I have a couple of 1.0 shields, on normal, and the other Performance Center. I did handle a Shield Plus and it’s calling me.

  44. Dan T on August 23, 2022 at 8:53 pm

I have the same model. I got the C&H precision plate for the 508T in green. Floyd’s edc magwell and +2 and +6 baseplates. Did an undercut as well. I’ve shot it a few times. Trigger really doesn’t bother me when shooting, but dry fire you do notice that gritty take up. All in all, it’s a great gun in my opinion.

  45. Lior Bar-On on August 23, 2022 at 8:54 pm

Thanks for uploading this Sir. It would be nice if Smith could offer both triggers in the box (the way they offer multiple palm swells).

  46. Michael McMillan on August 23, 2022 at 8:55 pm

I don’t understand. You have to hear the reset . that is absolutely bull. If you are in tune with your gun. you feel the reset before you hear anything and you’ve already got the next shot down range. It’s semantics I have a dozen mmps five of them have the new trigger from The Shield to the 10 mm to the 9 mm the reset has gotten better and better not only does it brake cleaner but it actually pushes back out. And if you’re not worried about it go get a trigger job. Smith & Wesson has put a pistol out that is Optics ready iron sight ready for the Optics and is super reliable very accurate nitpick. Now clean your room please
