I wouldn’t call this a disassembly video. More of a field strip. But thanks anyway.
Tengo una igual
Pero la mira se mueve
No se que le pasa
Alguien sabe por qué
I am having trouble getting the bottome assembly back in. It will slide back in but will not fall back in place to put the pin in. I tried to pull the bolt back then insert and it went in like a dream but now the bolt will not shut. The gun fired beautifully all day today and had no visible broken parts upon cleaning. Please help!
Think God i read someone’s comment cause i couldn’t put action assembly back in without pulling the bolt back. Just So Others May know, not trying to be mean just saying there was a little mistake
Your Guide Rod for the Bolt looked damaged and curved. 🔫
What a pussy
So I just bought a model 60 and took mine apart today I had to pull the bolt back to fit the action assembly back on?I noticed you didn’t mine would not go back on and manual recommended to pull bolt back to reattach and then put that little plastic plug in
Great video, thanks.
Good job very detailed thanks
Thank you!
My 60 and i thank you!
5 yrs later and you vidio still helpin
Folks!
Thumbs up, on the vid and that laminated stock…..gotta get me one
I wish I had the stainless version. Marlin’s been like an orphan these past few years……..the "Remlin" years since 2007…..now the "Ruglin" years are about to begin. I think Ruger will give the Marlin brand the respect it deserves. The Model 60 will likely be produced in New Hampshire, right beside the 10/22. All the centerfire Marlins (lever action) will be made in North Carolina, where Ruger produces the American bolt action rifle and AR-15s. Both these plants are state of the art. Very anal about quality control, which is good for the customer.
Can I remove the barrel feed tube? My barrel has rust on it and I’d like to clean it without the barrel feed in the way.
Thanks man!
I was having difficulty replacing the bolt and recoil spring. I had watched all videos on the model 60 where everyone cut out on actually "fighting" with the spring. Thank you so much!!
Yours has a few extra screws then mine , cool vid😎 mine didn’t just set back in either had to actually charge it while putting the bottom back in
Thank you for your help.
Great video, helped me a lot. The 45 ppl who disliked this video suck balls
I need to change the lifter spring 🤦🏼♂️😭
Is there a way to straighten out a bent recoil spring guide? Or does it need to be replaced?
The gun has changed over the years. I have the longer Glenfield model 60. Pretty similar, though. Good video
M60 ss is the GOAT
Hey Brad & Kelly! Thanks for the share!!
Great 👍
That was a great cleaning video. I just picked up two Marlin model 60’s at Walmart on clearance for $75.00 each. It was a home run.
Excellent video
I never took it apart un till this morning to clean it and I couldn’t get the bottom of the receiver on until I locked the firing pin hammer back then it slide sin nicely then I pu it back together and distressed the firing pin
Great thanks! I’m having trouble getting the bottom assembly back in. The spring looks like it’s attaching in a weird way and I’m wondering if it’s supposed to be bent. It looks like it’s blocking the piece from sliding in. Does the spring normally look shifted toward the middle?
The nomenclature you used in the video is wrong in many places.
I just got a Marlin Model 60, watched a few videos on disassembly and reassembly, but for two times the bolt didn’t move back once assembled because I forgot to pull the bolt back before putting in the action assembly. eventually I figured it out, but along the way I may have bent the spring quite some. It seems to work after one dry-fire, but I want to know if I did any long term damage to it.
Awesome walkthrough. Thanks a million for the help👌🏻
Nice Video, Just some updates on New Marlins.. Bought one about 2 months ago. Put it on the bench to sight it in, and about 15 rounds in, the take down screw on the back of the trigger guard fell out on the bench. Unloaded and investigated and found the entire back of the trigger guard was cracked and actually in 2 pieces. I had not taken it apart yet so it must have been over torqued at the factory. It wasn’t noticeable when i purchased it, but the crack was evident after some handling and the 15 rounds.
I called Marlin (Remington), they apologized and took it under warranty. They would have just shipped a new part but they were out of stock. So 6 weeks later I’m still waiting. Called the servicing Gun Smith ( no it didn’t go back to Remington or Marlin – It went to an authorized repair shop about 250 miles from me), He is still waiting on the trigger guard which is on back order, and apparently he sees this a lot with the Model 60. He said the trigger guard is not a true polymer, more of a cheap plastic and has an offset support in the stock which can be over torqued and broken easily. He’s seen them come straight out of the box from Marlin in pieces.
So, the issue now is, when I get it back, do I keep it or trade it for better quality? If I keep it, it’ll run me about $90 for a replacement (aluminum trigger guard, replacement Trigger, and New front site blade to replace that crappy orange piece of plastic).
Also the new screws on the SS version have Torques Screws instead of the straight slot or phillips screws they’ve used in the past.
Thanks for this vid. Thinking about buying one of these today for $175 in a (sadly) synth stock.
2:16 many a small scratches and dings I’ve made from laying down a firearm on its own hardware, lol
Hahahaha 2 min in and you’ve help me find where the hardware goes. Thanks for relieving my headache
Hi, I damaged my recoil spring on my model 99 marlin. Do you know where I can buy a new one. Watching your video, I now know how to assemble the spring. Thank you
If anyone knows who designed the model 60 let me know. I need to take that spring and shove it up his a$$
Great video! Thanks!
Figured out the reassembly is done wrong. I needed to pull the bolt all the way back before putting the action housing back in…
Thanks! I was given a Model 60 that hadn’t been cleaned since 1973. You video really helped.
Excellent! Thanks for this video.
Thank you for this! I received this gun as a gift a while back and never got around to cleaning it. This helped out a lot!
Very helpful video tnx man.
good afternoon! can you help with the manual for this rifle?
Nice Video! *Recommended to have the bolt to the rear before replacing the hammer assembly
Having trouble getting the lower assembly to fit back to the receiver, any ideas
