I have a Model 55 12 Ga that is 47 1/2 long so it isn’t a goose gun like this one. But it has the exact same mechanism and I appreciate your detailed video as I had no idea how to get it apart. Like yours this is my Elmer Fudd gun as all I do is dispatch pesky rabbits, squirrels, and the dreaded woodchucks and skunks that don’t understand that my little 2.4 acre spot in the country is not for them to nest, eat, and crap on.

Picked one of these up today, it’s so big I had to wedge it into the trunk of my Town Car at an angle. That trunk will easily hold 4 large bodies, 6 medium, so that makes the 55 a crazy long shotgun!

I just watched a video in russian but it was about the marlin 55 goosegun. The guy was shooting slugs and had a very good group. He shot 2 different types of slugs and regular magnum 3inch loads. Check it out, he even says his goosegun has the full choke like all of them. Theres also a guy on here saying he shoots steelshot out of them, i think they were made for lead only. But im not a pro so i dont know.

The thing just brings a smile to my face, why there has never been a movie or something where someone is out hunting with this thing, just sitting in a blind would be funny alone…

A local gun store has a 10 gauge for sale that is basically the same as yours. Is it safe to shoot steel shot thru it? If not, then that would definitely limit its applications. But what a fun gun to pull out at the dove lease!!
