    Mine has an MN just bought it a Walmart but has sat there for I while so I can figure out the year

    My marlin 444ss serial number starts with 13 , I’m having a hard time figuring out if I should buy it ,it is stamped north haven Connecticut …please help I want to know if I have a pre Remington deal and I want to know what year it is

    The 1894 serial number is incorrect. The 1973 model Octagon can be 73XXXXXX or 27XXXXXX. I have a 73XXXXXX

    Marlin model 101 bolt action t-handle cocker w/24k trigger and walnut stock EK on barrel puts it at May 67 .

    Well the barrel has a stamp them . I have all 3 operation plant version. New Haven Connecticut . North haven Connecticut . And mayfield kentucky. The marlins you want are the JM stamp 😀 I also have a marlin DL .22 no serial # pre 1960.

    Just call Marlin customer support give them the serial number off the gun and they’ll tell you what year the gun was built. You can do this with any brand firearms that are made.

    So my rifle starts with 98, I purchased it around 2003, does that mean it was made in 2002?

    Great info. I bought mine in 1988 and the # tells me it made in 1988. I shot about 10 round but it gave me too much trouble so I putted it away till now. I don’t know what to do with it rather than keep and look at it.
