Not going to lie. I really don’t care for my 30 30. Trigger pull is way too heavy operating the lever is not really smooth and crisp seems gritty and rough after 40 rounds. My fingers are starting to take abuse. And I Really got to squeeze that lever into the stock. To get round to fire off. Is there anybody else out there having the same problem? I picked mine up around 2014-15 for $380.00.

Nothing I would like better than people start their video with "shit". I exited right away.

  5. Terry Stover on November 9, 2021 at 9:57 pm

Make your videos without the F bombs and they will be better. If you paid $600.00 for that 336W, they saw you coming.

"Fuck man, fuck shit, shit ass." Indeed. I got mine for $400 US. I don’t shoot it too much because the ammo is more expensive. But it’s definitely my favorite gun to hold and look at. Beautiful.

Can get that gun all day for 400. You can get a 336c which has a better finish for 600.

  20. Winburna on November 9, 2021 at 10:15 pm

No earplugs?! Bye bye hearing…and I have that rifle too! No way I’d want to fire it (or anything for that matter) without earplugs or some form of hearing protection.

  21. Taylor Fritz on November 9, 2021 at 10:16 pm

    That’s not a 336w… the w is a walnut stock.

  27. paul muad' dib on November 9, 2021 at 10:23 pm

My dad taught me to shoot with the 22LR version of this rifle. After I got that down, he handed me the 30-30. My God the kick. Great rifle but he scared the pee out of me.

  28. Vince F on November 9, 2021 at 10:27 pm

Yes the action will smoothen out over time. The loading gate will get a bit easier-you learn over time just how much pressure to apply cartridge on gate where it feeds into magazine perfectly(not too little-not too much). And you can expect the loading gate to get scratched. It is unavoidable especially with a matte finish. Great rifle- like you say everyone should own one.

I plan on getting one these. And yes, it does sound a LOT like an SKS. Mostly because of that 30 caliber bullet lol

  43. Elvis241000 on November 9, 2021 at 10:44 pm

Just purchased one at Walmart for $457.00 not counting tax.

  44. Jeffrey White on November 9, 2021 at 10:44 pm

Loading tip – don’t push the round all the way in until you are done. Keep about 1/4 the length of it out while you use the next round to push it all the way in until the desired number of rounds are loaded. I love the gun and have had it since I was 15 (now 34).

I like those laminate stocks. Some people prefer that Walnut treatment, but I’m getting older and after many years of rucksacks and jumping out of perfectly good aircraft, I ain’t so stable on my feet. I swapped the factory hardwood stocks out of my 336W for a set of RamLine/Champion plastic stocks. Nice and light and scratch proof for an old Phart like me. Haha ha ha. All the Best!! Peace Be To Journey!

    2 kinds of commenters:
Those who need hearing protection to protect them from cuss words.
Those who whine about the guys not using hearing protection.

  48. Brandon Shepherd on November 9, 2021 at 10:50 pm

When you’re loading try leaving the end of the case out just enough so when you put the next shell in you won’t have to push down as hard to get it started. It easier for me that way
