Leupold "VX3i" 6.5-20x50mm Side Focus (CDS) Target Rifle Scope

Leupold "VX3i" 6.5-20x50mm Side Focus (CDS) Target Rifle Scope

The Leopold VX3i 6.5-20×50 Target Scope is naturally ideal for long range shooting. The Custom Dial System (CDS) makes it easy to range your target and simply dial the corresponding number for that distance. My scope has been customised with the tactical turret knobs as well as the CDS system for the Federal 168gr Match ammunition. These scopes retail for around $1500 and the tactical knobs $250 and are imported by NIOA: http://www.nioa.com.au

so when you focus it in at  400 yards  and move lets say out to  600 do you have to refocus it,ya I know what ,parallax  i was just wonding about the focus  from the side ?

  2. oncall21 on December 9, 2021 at 8:15 pm

I had a VX3 6.5-20X50 Mil dot Loopy. It was my spotlighting scope on my Sako 22/250 HB rifle. I should never have sold it. One point to mention is that these Loopy’s are probably the lightest in this magnification/size range so they don’t unbalance even a sporter rifle. Great review Ozzie. Thanks for sharing.

hey ozzie what do you think of the ruger 10/22 with a archangel stock (buttstock included like the set up shooting stuff australia did) and would you do a review on it?

  6. Lenox Chew on December 9, 2021 at 8:19 pm

Awesome… I love the scope reviews. Going to go with the Leupold VX3i 3.5×10… Amazon has it for 319.99 with free shipping. Have to wait until I get my rifle the Zastava 30.06 Mauser action. Can’t wait

This is an older vid.. But I’ve seen your cds temps at 20 and 27 degrees… Seems like a gimmick to me

I’ve noticed you wear the same ear plugs in most of your videos, are they electronic or just a normal passive set?

  13. Omora on December 9, 2021 at 8:24 pm

What do you think the closest practical range for a 6x scope would be?

  14. Trigger Reed on December 9, 2021 at 8:24 pm

    Great Review!

  15. Paul Halliwell on December 9, 2021 at 8:26 pm

hi Aussie , been following you for ages. great reviews. waiting for one of these scopes in the 8/25/50 for target shooting . going on a Lithgow 308 going to try the 22 crossover as well . could be fun . do you think it will handle the extremes. keep up the great work.

  16. ted intessimone on December 9, 2021 at 8:26 pm

I was just wondering what scope rings you are using and height..I’ve got the same rifle and was looking into the mark4 leupold rings,,just not sure what will clear with the scope..P.S. I have the same scope as you..thanks.

  17. Scott Mac on December 9, 2021 at 8:27 pm

Looks nice, I recon your la102 308 deserves one too. You’ve shown us already how accurate it is. Maybe more than the ruger. Nice shooting Ozzie

  18. Kalon Johnson on December 9, 2021 at 8:30 pm

Nice. Review. What rangefinder was you using

  19. Paul Halliwell on December 9, 2021 at 8:31 pm

g day Aussie, I didn’t expect a reply. but I ment the extremes in the different types of shooting distances and calibers, from short target 20 m to 100 m for 22 lr and 1000 m for 308. great channel.

  20. Eltoro74 on December 9, 2021 at 8:32 pm

  23. Tony Gasperini on December 9, 2021 at 8:36 pm

I’ve got one of these scopes on a Ruger Precision Rifle in 308WIN. I have only just started trying to sight the scope in and have decided to start at 100meters. The windage is absolutely perfect but it is shooting aproximately 100mm high at 100yards. The problem is that the CDS dial won’t allow me to adjust the scope any lower . The CDS dial is pointing at the zero mark and that’s as far as it will go. Can CDS dial on this scope be adjusted in a way that it will allow me to shoot at a target starting at 100 meters ? Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

just wanted to know if you have done a review on the steyr mannlicher 30-06

  25. Minh Vu on December 9, 2021 at 8:40 pm

Nice video, the scope is too much for my wallet! I see that ruger ‘s high end rifle makes the same zipper sound as their low end rifle, sad really!! I have the ruger American range in 7.62×39, I love it and such a fun rifle but the action sucks compare to a tikka!!

  26. Andrew Tanczyk on December 9, 2021 at 8:40 pm

How far would that scope go out for a 30.06 & a 300 Win Mag?

  27. Justin Nowlen on December 9, 2021 at 8:41 pm

What are those auto-reset steel targets you use? Link maybe?

Ozzie, great review as usual. Do you need to take your own rifle there to get a CDS dial sorted? So the can do the testing?

    Gday Oz,
Im really shitting myself! whats the go with this federal government firearms amnesty? are they coming for our guns again, or is it just one of those things where a person can hand illegal firearms?

  45. Dirt Broker on December 9, 2021 at 9:08 pm

What target system are you using? My kids are getting tired of walking lol

  46. Exposing the Darkness with the Light of Truth on December 9, 2021 at 9:08 pm

FYI, CUSTOM DIALS USED TO $50. DOLLARS, AND NOW $250. DOLLARS…UNACCEPTABLE AND ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU’RE PROVIDE ALL INFORMATION!!…MAYBE IT’S BECAUSE YOU’RE IN AUSTRALIA AND NOT THE U.S…WE’VE NEVER USED A SECOND FOCAL PLANE ON ANY SCOPE, BUT WE SEE YOU HAVE AN ILLUMINATING RETICAL AND WITH LEUPOLD, THEY ONLY COME IN THE SECOND FOCAL PLANE, WHICH IS A HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT, BUT NIGHTFORCE HAS ALL OF WHAT YOU LIKE AT THE SAME PRICE; HOWEVER, THEIR GLASS MAY NOT BE AS PERFECT AS LEUPOLDS, SO IT’S SAID. EVEN SO, THEY RUN ABOUT $3000.00 PLUS, WHICH IS OUTRAGEOUS!!…DON’T GET ROPED INTO THE SECOND FOCAL PLANE…NO SERIOUS SHOOTER EVER USES THEM, JUST THE INEXPERIENCED. THEY BUY THEM FOR THE ILLUMINATED REDICAL, YOU NEVER WANT TO SACRIFICE CONSISTENCY IN LONG RANGE SHOOTING–800 PLUS YARDS…SNIPERS NEVER USE THEM!!

  47. Kevin Butler on December 9, 2021 at 9:11 pm

    cool
