Iraq War veteran Chris Cappy gives the Next Generation Squad Weapon rundown. These three companies are in competition to replace the M-16, M-249 SAW and the M-240 bravo with the NGSW.

Each bid has unique pro’s and con’s and feature technology we never imagined would already be ready to use. One of these 6.8mm weapons will replace the 5.56 firing M16 after 60 years in service. We’re taking you literally inside the Textron bid for the NGSW to show you the incredible new technologies implemented.

Find out how polymer cased ammo and caseless telescoped ammo will reduce the overall weight of ammo while increasing the size of the bullet.

Our last version of the video got taken down so we fixed everything and added all new information for you.

Comment below let us know which bid do you like best of the three?

This might sound conspiratorial but hear me out:

With how authoritarian our government is quickly becoming and the fact that it is actively trying to destroy civilian ownership and use of weaponry, particularly military style weapons, DO NOT put it past the people making these decisions to choose a weapons system that is proprietary and can be completely controlled by government, meaning… neither the guns nor the ammo will be allowed to be acquired by civilians nor can the cases be reloaded and find their way into the average joe’s reloading room via the surplus market. It would be a very effective way to destroy the shooting and gun culture in the U.S., albeit a slow one.

These are the kinds of sneaky, underhanded and evil people we are dealing with who wield power in society.

    I wanna keep the M4, can’t they just use a 308 platform?

  3. Nilo Baranda on October 27, 2021 at 5:44 pm

"Former army veteran"? So you’re no longer an army veteran? You’re back in active duty?

  4. Piss Pants Pedo-Joe Biden on October 27, 2021 at 5:46 pm

Saw a video that claimed the main reason for the change was that American citizens wouldn’t have ammo/interchangeable parts readily available for any U.S. Weapons captured from U.S. forces during martial law situations.

  5. Fire Fighter For Life on October 27, 2021 at 5:47 pm

Meta breaks down over time, plastic littering our Warzones…hmm that seems like a future “we’re sorry” from the military and political heads. Honestly doesn’t matter.

The host of this video is a weakling if he is complaining about the weight of the M-249.

I don’t even understand why the US is buying German made weapons when we have plenty of domestic manufacturers… Firearms aren’t like rocket science and neither have a huge advantage over the others. Better thing is to use US tax payer funded dollars to equip our military with US made weapons, not buying from Germany who isn’t a real ally of the US. Most Germans actually dislke the US, hate Americans and Germans voted not long ago on PEWresearch they want the US to fall as the world superpower and influencer and for CCP China to take its place… Germans are also helping CCP China build a war submarine. I don’t think Germany is a legit ally, tbh. Also, I used to live in Germany and can attest to the anti-American rhetoric. These European firearm manufacturers already rely on selling to US civilians, but our military/government should purchase from and support US domestic companies, manufacturers and industry just like most other countries do. The only reason why other countries would procure military gear from a foreign manufacturer is if their domestics simply do not have the capability, are very technologically advantaged, etc. But the US government seems to just put price ahead of anything… We should really consider the advantages of purchasing from a domestic company and supporting our own country instead of a country that literally hates the US and our values.

  12. BullDogGamer623 on October 27, 2021 at 5:55 pm

Wasn’t the point of the ar style of weapons to make it easier to break down

  13. Leo R on October 27, 2021 at 5:59 pm

This is another monumental cluster f*ck,, all of the options are way too complicated and delicate,,, with way too many parts that are prone to breakage.
What surprises me is that they are not evaluating a phased plasma rifle in the 40 watt range https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-B6YbMKda68

  15. Brad KABERLINE on October 27, 2021 at 6:04 pm

My question is what is the point of have plastic m16 plastic casings if your going to add 50lbs of shit??? NOT DELTA

  16. The Texan on October 27, 2021 at 6:04 pm

I like the SIG it’s basically an upgraded m4, common sense keep a weapon, fix the problems, good weapon, upgrade the weapon to next gen, better weapon.

  17. Chike Cupid on October 27, 2021 at 6:06 pm

The guns look like apex legends guns no cap

  18. Pratyaksh Bhuria on October 27, 2021 at 6:08 pm

    Simply get the Indian MCIWS

  19. colin on October 27, 2021 at 6:09 pm

and yet they still got their arses kicked out of ‘Stan…

  20. Gerald on October 27, 2021 at 6:09 pm

    The GD-Design sounds amazing!

  21. Vhiteable on October 27, 2021 at 6:09 pm

I really like the General Dynamics design, but if I were to bet my money on it, I’d probably go with Sig Sauer.

  22. Jairus The Adventurer! on October 27, 2021 at 6:10 pm

My only question is really whether these will be viable in close combat. Desert combat, it’s probably amazing. In an urban setting, I’d rather have an M4 for less weight and recoil.

  23. Christopher T Miller on October 27, 2021 at 6:12 pm

I here the 6.5 Grendel is the best cartridge for the ar15 platform.

  24. VindictiveGrind on October 27, 2021 at 6:12 pm

I was so dumb, I thought the SIG Sauer 6.8 concept was a modified FN Scar

  28. Larry Evans on October 27, 2021 at 6:18 pm

How does a change to 6.8 affect our NATO allies?

  29. GM on October 27, 2021 at 6:18 pm

Wtf is this crap everyone is adopting smaller lighter round because there’s no need to be able to engage target you cannot see same thing happened to m14 ,future is simple light weight smg/assault rifle hybrid like AAC honey bagger

  30. arief Ibrahim on October 27, 2021 at 6:19 pm

    Textron ammo nothing compare….!

  31. Austin Sanford on October 27, 2021 at 6:20 pm

M4 style rifle chambered in that 6.8 mm ammo would be a solid choice IMO

  32. mike laun on October 27, 2021 at 6:20 pm

I love the general dynamics version. Along with the fact it’s just a barrel change to make a 240 shoot the round as the squad weapon. Also that the synthetic cartridge keep all but the barrel cool. Then like the sig it has a reciprocating barrel also.

  33. gerald miller on October 27, 2021 at 6:21 pm

more parts, more breakdowns. plastic ammo means PLASTIC. another problem. get a rifle which can pearce body armor and can work all day long.and go the distance. you know, like the m1 garand.

  34. Alex Rhinehart on October 27, 2021 at 6:22 pm

I’v watched the vudeo and read thriugh the comments and i have three questions.

    1. What significant advantage does any of these guns have over what we are currently using?

    2. Can someone PLEASE explain how anyone could say the textron is "too complicated", have you SEEN the ak47 or m4 rifle inner workings!?

    3. Does no one know about peaizo electric crystals?

  35. Kevin Kranz on October 27, 2021 at 6:23 pm

SIG SAUER ANY DAY OF THE WEEK

  38. Brad KABERLINE on October 27, 2021 at 6:26 pm

Look how many moving parts is to complex no thanks then what oh shit my electric firing mechanism went out get the humvee so we can jump the mother fucker lol

  39. D Bach on October 27, 2021 at 6:29 pm

Just a generic old man rant….after this president gifted $86 billion in equipment to the Taliban, I don’t ever want to hear a career politician bitch about a $10 million price tag being the difference in keeping my son and probably one day,, grand son, from being safe while deployed. If we can give trillions to lazy arse holes to not work, give our service men and women what they need to do their jobs, let alone survive. Bunch of dick heads.

  40. Elterga on October 27, 2021 at 6:30 pm

The textron ejection system might be the most elementally resistant ever. I would assume that this gun can take a beating

  41. SteelEagle33 on October 27, 2021 at 6:30 pm

Will 6.8 go through lvl 4 armor?

  42. Rick Sanchez on October 27, 2021 at 6:30 pm

I all reality, would be better off stick with what they have, or dusting off the m14s, and dumping all this money into securing complete domestic resourcing of individual drones. Russian just ordered 7 million. We’re essentially converting our flintlocks into breach loaders, while "they" are building Garands.

  43. Susan Goebbels Wojcicki on October 27, 2021 at 6:32 pm

As a British Veteran (not my real name FYI), the bullpup design is NOT hated, it is preferred. Reloads are EASY, and balances the weapon nicely, as well as lending to superb accuracy.

Certainly my preferred layout for a rifle.

  47. Reticuli on October 27, 2021 at 6:38 pm

Can 7.62 guns be easily adapted for the Textron ammo with just a different barrel like the True Velocity?

  48. grantourismo0109 on October 27, 2021 at 6:39 pm

    6.8mm arisaka round?

  49. BETTERWORLD SGT0589 on October 27, 2021 at 6:39 pm

A lighter SAW replacement can’t be bad! I carried one on on a road march once, Heavy enough with all the other stuff, almost as bad as the time Top put a Fire Extinguisher in My Ruck!

  50. Crusader Man on October 27, 2021 at 6:41 pm

I hope we use the Sig that’s chambered in the GD plastic ammo.
