in this video I demonstrate a H&R topper 88 survival rifle build ive been working on for awhile.
the rifle performed well and im pleased with the results.
I was target shooting @ 50yrds and was shooting freehand. I believe the groups would be tighter if I used a prop.

After just watching your lasted video I had to come back to this video. I just love it. Great information on this gun. I love the conversion calibers tubes. I hope I can get this setup some day. Great job with this amazing gun!

Awesome mods to an outstanding firearm. I never had a H&R rifle or shotgun but, do have a Model 900 22lr with 2 1/2 inch barrel. The company of the buttpad is pronounced, Ty-gris, very good budget products I might add. Thanks for sharing.

I miss the H&Rs. I have owned two, and one was the .308 ‘Survivor’ model. Between a scope that was woefully oversized and the bull barrel, I made it too heavy. I should’ve just put a red dot, or a handgun scope at most, and focused more on what I should’ve had *in* the stock. Glad to see how someone else’s kit worked when it was more thought out (and clearly more utilitarian and versatile). 👍

Nice way to bring new life to the Topper, I might do that to mine, if I could figure out the correct bolt head size..it seems it’s somewhere between standard and metric, very odd

I like the versatility of the topper with inserts idea . They also make an adapter to make it into a muzzle loading firearm so if you have a smooth or modified bore you can shoot ball or shot .

If anyone has a Henry AR 7 or the older ones made by Eugene Stoner and wants a better all steel barrel for it I have a like new one only couple shots fired through it for cheap $$ just collecting dust here lol.

Good stuff brother…I am working on one also, waiting on my adapter before I post the video.

I had a topper, it never fit me. It ha such a high shot for my body type that I could not hit the broad side of a barn if I was standing in it. Sold it. I really wanted to like it.

    I love your setup brother.

I would be wary of using Ziploc bags for water proofing. I’m a kayaker and I’ve been disappointed with their performance more than once. They may hold up better in a rain than they do in a capsize but I’d rather use a drybag or drybox for stuff that I count on to be dry for survival. I’m digging the set-up though, thanks for sharing.
