Hi-Point C-9 pistol
Shooting and discussing the Hi-Point C-9 9mm pistol.
Note: Occasionally, somebody takes serious offense at this video, mainly because they are poor listeners, I suspect. They immediately get upset at the thumbnail and ANY criticism of their favorite firearm. Accusing me of being a gun snob, or one of those evil “rich” people seems to be their only lame recourse. I think what really gets them is that I have a different philosophy about buying low-end guns, which I explain in the video and have talked about many times. Personally, I’d rather give up the beer, or other luxuries a bit longer and buy a previously owned higher quality firearm for just a few more bucks. Sorry, the feedback we get is that you come here for honest impressions; I’m not going to make stuff up or come up with a “feel-good” narrative that I don’t really believe. At the same time, if you like Hi-Points and they work for you, have at it. I’m happy that you like them and they work for you.

I own one of these for home defense because it fulfills that need. It sits in a box on the shelf like 99% of the time and that’s OK. Its not for conceal carry and it’s not for everyday carry.
I have. Limmited income do i cant aford any other gun
I’d buy this from a pawn shop for $25 just for the novelty
Well… I’ll say this, how old of a company is highpoint? They must be doing something right to make what 30 or 40 years making guns.
if looks were important, so would your review.
Y’all talk all this s*** about High Point High Point to be here when We Dead and Gone it is a machine I got three of them never hung up since I had them Real Talk haters
No doubt it was milled from a railroad track?
Those are the shittiest pistols i have shot.
Oh the took the place of the dope guns or throw down guns that’s all
For a pistol so reviled…they sell a hell of a lot of ’em.
Пистолеты не красивые .А за видео 👍👍👍
Jam a gunsmith they are big peace of junk they say they have less then 1% failure they first month I sent back over 39 pistol had 3 in the gun range come apart I don’t shoot them my hands are worth more than that
If it works, don’t knock it.
I wonder if the people who like to bash the hipoint ever actually owned one. I’ve had mine for 12 years and it’s proven to be reliable. I’ve fired hundreds or perhaps over a thousand rounds through it and it only started to malfunction when it needed cleaning. I just took it apart and gave it a good cleaning and it was like new. I’ve never had mechanical issues with it. It’s not a pretty gun and it is on the heavy side. The biggest negative about it is that the slide is kinda rigid when trying to chamber the first round, as shown in this video. Other than that you get a very reliable gun and for a cheap price.
Whoa. I love that paper target hahaha
I remember a hi point is all I can afford at the time and I had a feeling we’re trying to break in my house and I was right to Intruders came in and the first thing they said was let’s rape his wife and daughter…but that hi point c9 laid both of them down… So get what you can afford and save up to get something better
To be sold in Ca it has to go thru a lot of testing. It may not have the cool factor but they seem to work. Seen them on the ranger that said for those who don’t have the funds or want a truck gun in case of an issue, it fits the bill.
If my battle buddy had a hi point i would ask for a different buddy!
A friend of mine gave me a Stallard JS 9MM because it wouldn’t fire for him. So I called the Company (when they were in business) they fixed the gun (for free) and gave me 2 extra clips for it. So armed with 3 clips and 500 rounds proceeded to the rifle range and let er fly. It shot pretty straight so I added one of those laser optics and it shot even straighter..LOL The friend that gave it to me said it was used by a Army Colonel as a side arm (came with a shoulder holster also). I’ve had it for at least 25 years, don’t know what I’d do without it, its part of the family now.
Junk!
This gun don’t deserve to b shot by hickok45
Dam them things are ugly lol
@hicock45 do glocks need to be broken in
It might be a little ‘Macgyver’ or ‘Red Green’, but you could probably put anti-slip tread tape on the slide to make it easier to grasp and rack.
I purchased one to keep in my lockbox in my daily driver. I’m often in bad neighborhoods and don’t want to worry if my car gets broken into. It’s reliable and if it gets stolen it won’t break my heart or my wallet.
Hell with pride if it saves me money and and put a person down at 5 ft im ok
I have a Hi-Point 40, I bought it when I came back from Iraq in 2006. I wanted a home defense gun, was in a bad neighborhood and the price was right. I put about 1000 rounds through it the first time I took it out to shoot and it shot well. It is a brick, but for the weight, it is well balanced and very accurate. I worked at a maximum security prison and a lot of the guys are former military, so we have fired about every gun under the sun, when I told the guys I had bought a Hi-Point they were immediately bad mouthing it, and I heard a lot of horror stories, so I told them, "Hey I put 1000 rounds through it without a failure, so are you talking from experience or are you just repeating what you’ve heard?" and to the very last, they were just repeating what they had heard. When I tried to nail it down to how reliable were the people they heard this from, it was clear they were repeating these horror stories from people whom they wouldn’t have believed on any other subject. This is a gun that people love to hate and I get it, I jokingly call it my brick and I tell people, if I run out of ammo in a life or death situation, I could just beat ’em to death with it. Now I am the kind of guy, when I shoot a gun, I clean it and these are not easy to field strip for cleaning, but that’s what I do with all of my guns. I do have lots more guns now and the Hi-Point is not one that gets a lot of range time anymore, simply because of the difficulty in breaking it down for cleaning, but I still keep a mag loaded and have it handy, should anyone decide they want to kick down my door, but to be honest I’d probably grab my Taurus Raging Judge Ultra-lite first and my Bersa Thunder .45 Ultra-compact next. I do have a SCCY 9mm as my personal carry and get ready for it, I carry a KelTec P32 as my backup it’s not much bigger than an old 25 auto but that’s why it’s my backup.
My first gun I ever bought was a Hi Point 9mm. You could drag that thing through mud and it would still fire. It could take a lick’n and keep on tick’n. I can definitely say that.
I got an m&p shield. 40cal last night for 100 bucks and I traded a beat up marlin. 22 rifle… he only wanted 200 to start with I am buying a house and my wife said no way I’m spending 200 so I compromised with her and the seller she got to see the rifle she hated leave he got 100 bucks and a gun he can sell for 100 or 150 and I got a quality pistol that I can add to the collection of "things my wife hates"
Glad I got one …it’s not my only gun and it shoots fine….they sell very well in gun shops a d Pawn shops in Florida!😀
Making the cheapest handgun possible should be something to be proud of
Clearly they missed that memo
I think this gun fulfills several functions, it is heavy, I could use it as a tool and if the bullets run out, then you throw a tremendous brick at the head🤣🤣🤣🤣
when he said known for light weight 😂
I don’t understand why this gun gets a lot of hate it shoots as great as all my other high end 9mm guns I almost prefer this than my 9mm ruger!
That is the gun i got my only one i own because i cant affored more because of my income
What’s so disgusting about it?
It’s the Sten of semiautomatic pistols. Crude but lethal.
I can’t believe y’all put down American-made gun just because of the price y’all sad
31:45 speed reload! 😂
yeah, hickock, i hear what you are saying…i do not agree. i own one and would never get rid of it. that goes double for the carbine.
When mom says we have Glock at home
i feel like the h3vr dev got his inspiration from hickok45

I like the way High point shoots. Its one of the most accurate weapons I have owned.
Damn thing shoots real bullets, and will kill real people. But it’s not a real gun. Really
