Harrington & Richardson Company History
Harrington & Richardson Company History
I am into not only the history of our great country but also firearms and the companies that produce them. This will be a very boring video for anyone not into firearms history. You have been warned. I will do a video on the H & R Model 650 next.
@ltdantn Thank you so much, I really appreciate it. A shotgun is the best home defense weapon made. IMO. Thanks for your input and congrats on the shotgun.
In pronounced like woosta or Wooster In the New England accent.
They are owned by the Freedom Group now, actually part of Remington. I am not sure if they will ever make them again. I baffles me on things that some companies do or do not do. Look at Colt, if they would make the Python again, it would sell like crazy. Who knows my friend. Thanks. : )
Actually mine is a topper model 158, with the design going back to 1872.
@Delta094204 I love the Colt Python but I would not consider it a cowboy gun. It is an awesome revolver though. I use to own one years ago and sold it. It is one of the ones I wish I could do over. lol. Thanks for watching.
Over too soon was expecting a finish.
@Hardcorediver44 Thay are outstanding wheel guns. I love how well made they are and will last more than our lifetimes. Thanks for commenting. : )
real good video!! why is it that the older you get history becomes so much more interesting?
@rdean45acp Chambered in .32 its a sweet gun and you do not see many of them. Thanks for watching bro… : )
@FabioCrow07770 Yes they are Fabio, they work great for backyard shooting. Thanks.
FAIL: Excell shotguns are manufactured in Turkey,
THANK YOU . NOT BORING AT ALL !!!!!..
Great video thanks for the info. Not boring at all.
@jimkressin Wow, I came over to answer another comment and somehow missed this one that is 7 months old. lol. I am sorry it took a little while to get back to you. lol. I always pride myself in answering all comments and pm’s. I always say it might take awhile but I will answer, I am keeping that promise. lolol. Really truly sorry I missed it and thank you. : )
My last name
Thanks, very informative!
@ChromeFreak123
I like Colt Pythons (I love how they look glassy black). But I’m not sure if they’re what you would call a cowboy or wild west revolver.
@magicdaveable I will have to watch my video again but I do not remember saying that but I could be wrong. I know they were an American company but I am not sure what I said about China. I really don’t remember that. I will watch the video and get back to you in a day or 2. Thanks.
I love revolvers. To me they are the coolest looking hand guns. Anyone have recommendations for what is the definitive cowboy/wild west revolver model that I can get?
I still have my H&R 649. very well made utility revolvers. Always work and never break.
@xSGTxSPLATTERx I will do my best to get that done for you, give me a little time. Thank you.
Good vid boss. I found it rather interesting.
Don’t give up completely on New England being firearm friendly. My Grandfather worked for H & R most of his life in Worcester ( it’s pronounced like “sister” My grandfather taught my mom and my two older brothers how to shoot. My brother owns dozens of handguns and collects rifles. He has A CCW permit and has never been hassled. My grandfather’s cardinal rule was “Don’t ever point a firearm towards someone unless you are absolutely prepared to kill them. He was a kind and peaceful man! Good Video!
Great Video Thanks, I’m never board with company history. expands the whole shooting?firearms experience.
Have you tried to Google the serial # info for year? sometimes that can get the info you need.
Great video!!
There is just not a huge demand for them but I think H&R guns are outstanding. Thank You. : )
whur-ster
Thanks. : )
@Cr0cket20 Thank you Cr0cket, I am a history geek also.lol. Thanks for watching brother.
I was just gifted a model 732 h&r and its really cool little gun!
@trapperbt Thank you and I love firearms history, I am happy you liked. Thanks again.
@TheFirearmsChannel Thank you Mike, I thought it would be very boring buy if you are a firearm freak like I am, we love it. lol.
@magicdaveable lol, yes I have heard friends from Mass. pronounce it that way. lol. Thank you for the smile. : )
@rbenterprises100 I know you are right, in high school history was my favorite subject next to science and P.E.. Thanks bro..
Good info. Not sure how much you know about them, but if you like gun company history you want to look at Berretta. They have over 500 years of firearm history, more than any other firearm manufacturer. I have an H&R model 950 .22lr myself. It is a very nice revolver a decent shooter. Thanks for the info.
i have an H&R .32 model 732 – 4" barrel , i picked it up for 35 dollars was told that the police used to use that model in the late 70s earlier 80s I cant seem to get a manufacture date on it as i dont know where to start can you help ?
H&R is or was an outstanding company that made some great guns. Thanks for watching. : )
I am sorry but thank you none the less for watching. I love history of firearms and the companies that made them but do not think many others would. I may do more of them, Thank you. : )
@rugersix Harry lol. I was bored myself when I watched but I am fascinated in how these companies started and how so many of them can be tied together by family bonds. Thanks as always Harry.
I have a 70s H&R 1872 Topper 12 ga. Nice gun, still in mint condition.
I like this video. Very informing. I, myself, have an H&R Model 949 .22 9 shot revolver. If you would be so kind as to make a review for the 949, it would be greatly appreciated, as I love mine, and want others to see how great a gun it is.
Cool video,I own many firearms from about every company.Would really like to start a collection with sticking to a single brand and was really looking to the H&R alot of cool looking guns and the prices are cheap,is there a reason?
thankyou for the history lesson I have a H&R model 04.32. 6 32s&w do you have any info on it would like to learn more about it.
@DemonHide I do too but not everyone is in to history. Thank you.
@magicdaveable lol, yes I have heard friends from Mass. pronounce it that way. lol. Thank you for the smile. : )
@Delta094204 There are many, what is your preference ? Thanks for watching.
Interesting, I worked at H & R 1871 in 1991-2, and had no clue of the history behind the name.
Why won’t they start making their revolvers again
OK, sweet. I would love to see it bro., make a vid. : )
