Joe man, I love your videos bud. Here in the UK. Its so nice to see Americans loving airguns we think its an art form shooting a low speed rifle, but then we would hahaha… Keep on going buddy… I set up Netflix for a night once and spent the whole evening watching your stuff instead hahaha

  11. Airgun Evolution on November 25, 2021 at 8:00 pm

I really love these videos where you are re finishing stocks… something about watching another man rubbing his wood.

Your video shows minwax wood finish penetrating oil
and wipe on poly. When do you use the wood finish?

  15. Food connoisseur on November 25, 2021 at 8:01 pm

Just wow. Don’t have words, it’s like it’s bought the woods soul out to the surface. Seriously amazing. I also love how the music peaks and the holy shit kicks in 😂😂…every video of yours is a joy to watch… everytime.

It’s this kind of gloss that inspires me to re-finish the 1885 high wall. Keep up the amazing antics!

How many coats would you recommend? Looks really nice.

  24. Ricashbringer on November 25, 2021 at 8:11 pm

Nice video. I have a Service Grade M1 Garand from the CMP. It came with a new stock. It doesn’t need to be refinished, just finished, as it has a nice dark walnut stock on it. I am looking for ways to give the stock a shine. Currently I’ve applied 2 coats of tung oil to it. I trying to decide what to put on top of it after it dries completely. The wood grain is nice, and I want it to shine.

I know this isn’t the right video to ask about scopes… but.. I’m looking at something to mount on a Savage .270. I saw your videos on the Swfa SS. I’m not on a budget or anything but don’t want to spend a ton. Just deer hunting and messing around with longer distance target practice. Want to keep it under $600. Any advice? I just subscribed thanks.

  26. Colin Brennan on November 25, 2021 at 8:14 pm

How do you stain your grips so cleanly and dark, a proccess vid or detailed comment would be great. Thanks!

  27. Louis Garcia on November 25, 2021 at 8:15 pm

You knocked that one, out of the ballpark. Looks great!

  28. Mike Murray on November 25, 2021 at 8:17 pm

Hoooly SSSShit, I about fell out of my chair laughing when I heard that.

  29. Angry Tortoise Productions on November 25, 2021 at 8:21 pm

hey man, what kind of wood is this?

  30. unionrdr on November 25, 2021 at 8:24 pm

I still like my Tru-Oil, but I love a shiny finish. It really makes the grain figuring POP! I’m learning just how little of this stuff goes such a long way. Just enough to flow out smooth. But not run. I even tinted some Tru-Oil to antique some Colt SAA grips in my latest video.

  31. Svilen Petrov on November 25, 2021 at 8:25 pm

    Great video Joe!!!!

  32. AGENT 47 on November 25, 2021 at 8:25 pm

You have potential to be the king of the jungle … ❤️

  33. Aden Jameson on November 25, 2021 at 8:26 pm

Holly Sh…… just one more thing, when sanding at wood level, go with the grain.

  34. Capt. Killingfield on November 25, 2021 at 8:27 pm

Looks excellent! I’ve been using Tru-Oil on all of my cheap Birch stocks since I started refinishing all of them this month (July ’21). But only after Citrastrip’ing, Conditioning, double staining Dark Walnut, then double de-whiskering. It’s made all of my rifles and shotgun twice as nice. I’m about to do the same to my RWS Diana 34.

  35. Zelus Domus Tuae on November 25, 2021 at 8:28 pm

Wonderful video, sir! Do you have a video or any tips for refinishing a stock that is totally unfinished?

  36. Jacob Terherst on November 25, 2021 at 8:28 pm

Most definitely thought the 3rd item needed was a crescent wrench.

  37. jake dilbeck on November 25, 2021 at 8:28 pm

    The bobross of wood stain

  38. dcarmon80dc on November 25, 2021 at 8:29 pm

Is there anyway you can do a night vision budget buy for scopes or DIY. Ty

  39. H Vega on November 25, 2021 at 8:32 pm

    “Holly shit”

  40. ptschafer on November 25, 2021 at 8:33 pm

I would recommend 800 grit sandpaper before the base coat and between the topcoats. It will make the wood grain pop more and also get rid of fine blemishes and hazing between coats. Poly can hide a lot, but prep work is always the toughest job.

  41. W Ruso on November 25, 2021 at 8:33 pm

Joe I like the wipe on poly saw your old video looks great on my m14 stock

  42. Danger Doberman on November 25, 2021 at 8:34 pm

This video made my day. I don’t even have no wood on my firearms. Well…not in that way >;D

    Be well.

  43. Sec Amend on November 25, 2021 at 8:35 pm

I’m not in the market for SCOPES at this time, but I saw this episode was outside your usual subject matter norm and I said to myself, well, you might not be interested in refinishing stocks, but hear Joe out as you might get some funny ass comments – and guess what?

    Hahahahahaha, you didn’t disappoint!!I

    Good job!

Nice work Joe ! Man of many talents. Ever thought of expanding your video portfolio to include additional hobbies, perhaps, such as BBQ’ing, reloading, gunsmithing, fishing, etc. Maybe you already have ones like those. Ill have to check. Cheers !! 🍻🍻

  50. Richard Witt on November 25, 2021 at 8:45 pm

Great video! Did you apply any poly to the checkering?
