Im surprised this isnt a bayonet

  2. Pops McCartney on December 5, 2021 at 10:49 pm

Glock made the field knife before they made the pistol.

  3. S. on December 5, 2021 at 10:50 pm

in my country it’s illegal to carry it outside of your home but i don’t care

I have a collection of actual combat knives – it’s just a collection, not for use! Among the collection is a K-Bar (of course) a Naval Aviators survival knife (really just a K-Bar with some minor differences) a Ghurka Kukri from WW2 with matching serial numbers on the blade and sheath with the British regimental badge on the pommel and of course a Glock 81. I’m looking for a WW1 trench knife (haven’t found one in good condition yet) and I’m open to suggestions of what I should add. Any ideas?

    Hats off to the Austrians

How about using a plastic tool designed to remove automobile trim?

  8. CB1942EO on December 5, 2021 at 10:54 pm

The glock knife is an excellent field knife. Cheap enough to equip all your family bug out bags and vehicles with the quality to last. And if it breaks 30 bucks to replace. Or cheap enough to have a few on hand.

  9. Greek Veteran on December 5, 2021 at 10:57 pm

I don’t know any army in the world, that is officially issued, with any knife.

  10. Miss Informed on December 5, 2021 at 10:57 pm

They are not full tang. Still they can take a lot of abuse.

  11. Wayne Smallwood on December 5, 2021 at 10:58 pm

Originally for the GSG9. No stupid saw blade. Then the Austrian Army accepted it, and GSG9 went with Boker’s Orca.

  12. Samuel leahy on December 5, 2021 at 10:59 pm

I just bought one today, and it’s not sharp out of the box. I can put an edge on it no issue, but it’s a little disappointing.

  13. Scott Fergusson on December 5, 2021 at 10:59 pm

That’s been my go to beat the hell out of knife for years. Oh and… it would be great for the zombie head shots.

  14. Timothy Chrest on December 5, 2021 at 11:01 pm

I have one and was very disappointed. It’s a bayonet with a handle, doesn’t take or hold and edge, blade geometry only good for stabbing IMO. Lots of ppl seem to like it though.

  15. Marty Breeden on December 5, 2021 at 11:02 pm

I have a TON of Survival Knives..for the money…this is the BEST!

  16. cassanoa on December 5, 2021 at 11:07 pm

the hollow handle is for mounting on a rifle as a bayonet and the " beer opener " is to lock the bayonet in

  17. Hristo Hristov on December 5, 2021 at 11:11 pm

Very accurate review, I have 3 Glocks and 3 Moras and am really pleased although can not use them to their full potential yet 😉

  18. Dean on December 5, 2021 at 11:12 pm

I reprofiled the blade and it cuts much much better now.

  19. Geo on December 5, 2021 at 11:12 pm

This Glock knife or Gerber Prodigy?

  20. Kj Guitarman on December 5, 2021 at 11:14 pm

I’ve owned the G81 for years, saw the guy on YouTube shoot the sharp blade, & flat side with a 44 magnum, still held up, amazing! Mine is black, saw a couple at a gun store the other day with some BK2 & BK7s and yep the G81 was a bit over 30 bucks, I’m getting another one!

  21. Dwayne Walker on December 5, 2021 at 11:15 pm

I’d take my Glock 81 over any Mora all the time. What Americans are calling a saw the Austrians call a raspel. It cut on the push stroke only.
    How’s this….its an Austrian SRK. 😆

  22. Charles uh60m on December 5, 2021 at 11:15 pm

Which one would you recommend? Cold Steel SRK or the Glock?

  23. Eduardo Garcia on December 5, 2021 at 11:16 pm

Very good video. I’m looking for the glock 78 model not easy to find in amazon

  24. Jochen 2000 on December 5, 2021 at 11:16 pm

Great knife but not the knife of the German Army
    I am german
We have the Eickhorn km 2000

  25. ChiquitaSpeaks on December 5, 2021 at 11:19 pm

i wish they had this exact knife but just longer w the blade like 10" any recommendations?

saco de wea fome, habla mucho

  27. Squirrel Chaser on December 5, 2021 at 11:20 pm

I think it would make a great trappers knife if the edge is reprofiled, and the sheath is wrapped in trap wire. Thats how I have my mora companion set up.I’m gonna buy one.

  28. Zwidawurzn on December 5, 2021 at 11:21 pm

It’s designed to be a knife every soldier should have, not just as weapon but as tool aswell.
You can use it to dig a hole, open cans and bottles, but it works as throwing knife aswell when you don’t modify the handle.

  29. J. FK on December 5, 2021 at 11:21 pm

    throwable can opener

  30. Jill Moss mcqueen on December 5, 2021 at 11:22 pm

  31. Cappie Rising on December 5, 2021 at 11:24 pm

I really wish Glock made more models. Like a tanto blade and even a jumbo size bowie.

  32. Red on December 5, 2021 at 11:25 pm

I’ve had 5 of those, including a couple 78’s, which they discontinued.

Been around since I was about 19 or 20.

Have the OD green and FDE colors todays.

Used to be around $25.00 to $28.00, price gone up to about $33.00 to $36.00.

Have that same foliage green Ka-Bar Mark 2.

I wouldn’t recommend buying any knife in SK5, too weak.

Wouldn’t recommend any CR series or 5160 steel, either. Very weak, seen em break under conditions they shouldn’t have.

    Nice video, brother…👍🏻

  33. that really updated my journal on December 5, 2021 at 11:25 pm

I always assumed these things were made in China (you know, like every other gun company’s knives — Remington, Winchester …). Now that I know it’s made in Austria I want one.

  34. Terry Smith on December 5, 2021 at 11:28 pm

They are made just like the gun they’re not beautiful but they sure work when you need it.

  35. Bob Bieschke on December 5, 2021 at 11:32 pm

…….a stabbing knife, similar to the Finnish Peltronen knife in design sans the saw…… Grizz 🐻 USA (retired)

  36. TheWtfnonamez on December 5, 2021 at 11:34 pm

I just bought a couple of these Glock knives and I am frankly impressed. Its basically everything you would want from a dagger/trench knife/bayonet, whilst being very cheap and tough as balls. It is basically a combat knife that is made so thick and tough it will serve as a utility knife, and it comes in at a very low price point. I have paid twice the amount for "daggers" that were twice as fancy and a fraction of the quality. Its basically 50% of a modern synthetic kabar, for about 50% of the price. Fair deal.
My only negative observations were that both of mine arrived with a fairly shit edge, partially coated by the paint they use. I personally don’t take offence to this because if you cant sharpen a knife you have no business buying them. I would also note that the nylon(?) scabbard retention clip is VERY stiff. For field work its fine. BUT if you intend to use the Glock for self defence you should either modify the sheath or get a custom one made. My plan is to just use a little high-grit sand paper on the retainer until I can quickly release the knife one handed.
The TLDR is that I assumed the Glock knife was shite, but when I finally got one in my hand, I had to admit that its a rather tough, light, useful, dagger, that you can camp out with.

  37. STEVE P on December 5, 2021 at 11:34 pm

I would use the Glock knife as a combat or self defense weapon, not a survival knife.

  38. M Ark on December 5, 2021 at 11:34 pm

Did anyone drill through the hole in the handle? I would prefer the knife to be attached to a
    lanyard, not the sheath.

  39. Red Green on December 5, 2021 at 11:35 pm

One of the greatest knives ever and still pretty cheap.I have one in my toolbox and a perfect one in my fighting knives collection.

  40. El Desgraciado on December 5, 2021 at 11:36 pm

  43. The Appalachian American on December 5, 2021 at 11:36 pm

I cant believe ive been missing out on this, bought at gunstore, awesome knife. Snaps perfect to molly system

  44. Wayne Smallwood on December 5, 2021 at 11:37 pm

In ‘Nam, it was discovered that a combat knife with a sawback spine would get stuck in ribcages, and then stayed there until the battle was over, and required destruction of the bones to be removed. In other words, lost weapon.

  45. SCABCRAWLER on December 5, 2021 at 11:40 pm

The glock knife is the only glock i own

  46. Cheemy Compilations on December 5, 2021 at 11:41 pm

If it’s a pull only saw back, why are you furiously sawing back and forth with it? Wtf

  47. xLimito on December 5, 2021 at 11:41 pm

    I ordered one can’t wait!

  48. RJ EMRAN on December 5, 2021 at 11:42 pm

    This is amazing video…

  49. Aaron Flanagan on December 5, 2021 at 11:42 pm

I modified mine by shortening the blade to 3 1/2 inches & the handle to 4 inches, sharpened the “point “ into a chisel. I also thinned the handle a little. Then cut the belt loop off & cut down the sheath to match. Finally I made a square kydex piece to keep the knife upright while it rides inside cargo pants leg pocket.

  50. Joel Seibert on December 5, 2021 at 11:43 pm

I’ve been researching cheap survival/tactical knives because I want to get one, now I’m sold on a Glock.
