Federal Premium Tactical Law Enforcement 12 Gauge 00 Buck Shotgun Ammo with Flite Control wad

Federal Premium Tactical Law Enforcement 12 Gauge 00 Buck Shotgun Ammo with Flite Control wad

People often ask me what kind of ammo we run in our shotguns at work, well we recently switched to Federal Premium Law Enforcement 00 buck. I have been so impressed with it, I purchased some for my own personal use. As you will see in the video the Federal with the Flite control wad shoots such a tighter pattern then the Winchester we used to carry. I am shooting out of my Remington 870 with an 18 1/2 inch barrel and an improved cylinder choke.

Great Demo, convinced me 00 Buck is good as a slug at close range. Thank u,

I use #4 S&B in the home, but ordered 200 rounds of this for a truck gun/ reach out a bit situation. Looks like some serious shit for a bit of range, if needed. Thanks!

what is the whole idea of shotgun ammo, is it to have a tight pattern or scatter the pellets all over the target ? myself don’t have a problem with a big pattern as long as the pellets travel at higher speeds to ensure a kill when hunting, where i come from civilians don’t shot people ,only police and soldiers shot criminals.

  4. Paul M. on November 11, 2021 at 8:13 pm

Do you recommend anything like this but with not such a tight pattern?

  5. bphilbac on November 11, 2021 at 8:14 pm

I just bought that same ammo

That nine pellet "Federal Flight Control"  is some really good stuff ,  It prints tight pattens from my 590A1  20" CYL Bore "no choke" shotgun…  Around 10"spread at 20 meters. ****Hornady now offers buckshot  in 12 gauge 2-3/4 and 3" magnum  with #4 coyote or 00 deer pellets .  Hornady Wads and pellets are similar to "Federal Flight Control"….   NOT all Federal buckshot is "Flight Control"…  Some Federal are full power.  Some Federal are Reduced RECOIL Law Enforcement loads…  Some Federal Buckshot is the wide spread stacked cork wads similar to the ranger loads shown in this video.  The Federal  boxes are ver similar for various loads  , And the Federal shells all look exactly alike.         True Variety,  and it all works as intended,   but…..Federal, can we say  "CONFUSING" ?   *****  "to avoid confusion"  Hornady only offers what I call  ‘their version of flight control wad’ which HORNADY  calls "Versa-Tite" ….   Hornady does NOT currently offer wide spread buckshot….   Hornady Buckshot prints tight patterns at range and the claimed speeds are both impressive and close to reality  .  12 gauge 00 with  8 pellets at a claimed 1600 fps … For buckshot, that is fast.   HORNADY @ 1600 FPS buckshot is ‘NOT’ for the RECOIL Sensitive  shooter…..   The 3" Magnum loads are almost as fast with more pellets.    These are some serious ‘hunting’ loads.

I had a question why is a patrol officer carrying a shotgun In their cruiser load a 00 buck instead of rifled slug? Because if buckshot pellet will miss one of that pellet can hit a person

Cause and effect. Depends on what your after.

  9. Eugene Ho on November 11, 2021 at 8:18 pm

Are you by chance right-handed but left eye mastered?

Will the reduce recoil cause problems in a semiauto shotgun like the Benelli?

  12. Thomas Zizzo on November 11, 2021 at 8:21 pm

Is the Federal considered low brass or high? Do you know if there are any ejector problems on semi-auto? Thanks!

i think this is one of the many few cool ass cops

  14. Brandon Hampson on November 11, 2021 at 8:23 pm

Do they make these in low recoil or for 20’s?

  15. Danny Rodecap on November 11, 2021 at 8:23 pm

Would that be good against the black bear that’s getting into my bird feeders? Or should I stick with the 3-inch Magnums 15 pellet loads?

  16. E4 Sham Master on November 11, 2021 at 8:24 pm

What is the difference between the LE version and the vital shock version?

  17. Dickey Moore on November 11, 2021 at 8:25 pm

which would you recommend this federal or hornady critical 00 buckshots for tightest patterns

    What choke were you using?

  19. jurist on November 11, 2021 at 8:25 pm

Great video. I was going to buy Remington LE, 9 shot. After watching your video, I am going to buy a case of the Federal. Thank you.

  20. Scott Crafton on November 11, 2021 at 8:25 pm

Is that a rifled barrel? If it is its opening up the group.

  21. Ck4540 Ck on November 11, 2021 at 8:26 pm

Watching this in mid 2020 and you say “it’s $5 a box, so not cheap” made me smile considering I’ve paid $18 a box during this crap storm of 2020

  22. Val Chavez on November 11, 2021 at 8:27 pm

    Gotta get me a box…..thanks…

I’m using a Kel-Tec KSG, I purchased A choke tube adapter for it made of steel; can I use this without a choke? I’m asking because I’m under the impression that it (chokes) will negatively effect the #1 buckshot from federal premium with flitecontrol. It’s a winchoke if that matters. Homedefense use only

  25. Fielding Mellish on November 11, 2021 at 8:30 pm

Are these the Federal LE13200 ? You really should have given the Federal item number or at least the velocity. Other than that, good video. Thanks.

lOW BRASS VS. hIGH bRASS ???????

    wow, i need these.

  29. Aaronb2245 on November 11, 2021 at 8:34 pm

For realistic HD ranges I prefer the standard 00 buck load. I’m using a shotgun because I expect it to behave like a shotgun. I want a wider spread than what the flitecontrol does at in home ranges. For police work the flitecontrol is an excellent improvement. I’d like to pick some up for the woods.

has anyone ever tested inserting a tungsten carbide tig tip into a 12 gauge slug? I hear it will help the slug penetrate body armor. please let me know

  32. pinkmist1970 • on November 11, 2021 at 8:36 pm

These are great rounds. Great tight patterns. Thanks for the great video.

  33. Joseph Putnam Evans on November 11, 2021 at 8:39 pm

That’s amazing performance and is an unsurpassable field load, but in close quarters, this essentially turns your shotgun into a clumsy rifle with a very small magazine and a ton of recoil. I prefer a good #1 buckshot with some spread for in-home defense.

  34. julio alvaro on November 11, 2021 at 8:41 pm

Whats best for home defense? Doble 00? Bird shot?

  35. Legitstoner420 on November 11, 2021 at 8:43 pm

I wish it was $5 a box.. cheap by today’s standards

  36. Savage man on November 11, 2021 at 8:47 pm

I used the Hornady 3 inch double ought Buck nine pellet and kill coyotes at 40 45 50 yards

  37. Repairguy 2 on November 11, 2021 at 8:47 pm

Is it just me ? I do not see the point of then using loads for a shotgun THAT DO NOT EX SPAN in the house . You want MAX expansion in the house !! One of the reasons we cut the barrel also !
Hunting bad guys outside different story now.

    are they copper plated BBs?

is the weapon you use an improved cylinder?

  42. eqlzr2 on November 11, 2021 at 8:54 pm

Thanks for your interesting video comparison. That Federal Premium ammo patterns too tight for me. I did an interesting comparision today trying some of the Fiocchi Low Recoil 12 ga 00 ammo (abt 1150 fps) in my Remington 1100 semi-auto with an 18.5 inch barrel. It would not cycle the action, although Winchester Low Recoil 00 ammo cycled it just fine. The action and barrel are made for regular 2 3/4 inch ammo.

how mm is the federal pellet ?
btw great video 🙂 im thinking about switching into federal too

Hi, is it 1145 muzzle velocity reduced recoil or regular and if so, what velocity is it? Thanks.

  49. Bob Burnitt on November 11, 2021 at 9:05 pm

Let me tell you, this is some GOOD STUFF. I bought a case of it not long ago, I usually buy Remington. But let me tell you at 50 feet, the shot makes a pattern smaller than my fist, and the wadding either goes in the HOLE or falls on the ground in front of and against the Target. The Copper Clad Shot contributes to the tight pattern as well they tell me. I had some silhouette targets attached to an empty barrel that was already shot to pieces, it really is a tight pattern. I believe it to be better than a slug at creating a catastrophic wound. Whether or not that is true, the pattern is very tight as compared to any other buckshot I have ever run. You might say it is a SLUG as big as your fist. I wish he had of got back 50 feet and showed us. I was shooting it at 50 feet and man, tight pattern, wadding goes in ot the "wound" or bounces off and lands at the "feet" of the target.

To me, it appears it does NOT have the recoil of the Remington, it may be it has less powder in it, but the tight pattern gets it DONE. It has more than enough power to Cycle my Remington Auto loader Shotgun. BB
