Federal appeals court strikes down domestic violence gun law

A federal appeals court ruled Thursday that the government can’t stop people who have domestic violence restraining orders against them from owning guns — the latest domino to fall after the U.S. Supreme Court’s conservative majority set new standards for reviewing the nation’s gun laws.

Any law that tries to limit .deny convert or in any way restrict any rights protected by the c but more important part is that no one one earth can legally do anything to any of you god given eight is unconstitutional and any one who brings up or voted to try and restmtrick deny any right is committing treason

The federal appeals court, knowing only too well what the supreme court will do with effective gun control legislation, makes sure that the second is heard as dead ancestors intended it to be. Silence the second: 1.5 sentences of twee and redundant twaddle from dead ancestors that visits upon their living descendants not freedom, but chaos, terror, trauma, death, misery, and paranoia. Deafen the courts to the evidentially dangerous words of long dead people by repeal of the second amendment to the US constitution.

How about just banning that person from being in a relationship with anyone for X number of years instead? There is no constitutional right to dating.

Leave the guns alone. They are a protected right. Restricting a right based on an often-misused process is a non starter. You can live a perfectly normal life without going on dates.

Clearly, having an order in place, and not being in jail for assault, clearly indicates no harm. Disarming ppl over no harm is unconstitutional. Are ppl under order being banned from drinking alcohol, own passing a baseball bat or kitchen knife?

Now they need to also stop denying people gun rights due to the presence of a mental health diagnosis.

Good. So many states have the definition of "domestic violence" blown out of proportion. You can get charged with DV just for shouting at a roommate or something so stupid like that.

Yeah, who cares about the lives of those victimized by domestic abusers. Maybe instead of taking their guns away we should increase the penalties for domestic abuse.

It’s about time. I’m a registered nurse and I’ve taken more than 30 hours on domestic violence normally and domestic violence when deaths occur in over 90% of the cases is the women using lethal force. I’m sure some feminist is going to get on here and say it’s all the man’s fault just because some woman runs to court and gets an EPO I just mean a man can’t use his constitutional rights. The people on the left will say and do anything to strippers firmer means of self-defense.

Preemptive empty thoughts and prayers to the women who will die because of this. Especially the pregnant ones.
