The Dalton Gang is now considered the last of the great frontier outlaw gangs that stalked the lawless American West. Having this sense of history as part of their grand plan, specially engraved revolvers were purchased by the Dalton Gang from the Colt factory to not only outdo the James & Younger gang but to do so in flamboyant style.

After robbing the Longview bank what was left of the gang heading back to Oklahoma,
The Dalton Gang spent the night in the Argo Church in Argo TX. This is a fact. This was what was told to my dad by his Grandmother who went to church there. They found bloody rags there in the church.
The gang traveled the Murphy and zealith trail on white oak creek up to Rock crossing on Sulphur River.

Wow what history, does anyone know how much they fetched? Stefan, Australia….
Shitty thing is those guns were stolen from us
My family on my mothers side resides from the Tulsa, OK., and Coffeyville, KS., area. I have heard countless stories from Uncles, Aunts, Grandparents, etc., about the Dalton gang and how some of our family was involved in the shootout at the banks. Visited the old museum and the grave site many times. I’m sorry to see that they auctioned off the guns that were kept in the museum but, if you need cash fast you do what you have to. By the way, the stories about a ‘hidden treasure’ buried by the Dalton gang in the Coffeyville area are false.
I wonder how to you preserve firearms from rust and corrosion?

Typically with a lite coat of oil on the metal parts or grease for long term storage. A good wax can be used on the wood stocks.
