    Czech Republic
Czech and Iran maintain bilateral relations. Czech–Iranian relations were established on April 30, 1929 and as of 2014, Czech firms export machinery products, electrical goods, and other products to Iran while the bulk of imports from Iran consisted of fruit and vegetables. The Czech Republic and Iran cooperate in nuclear technology, energy, mining and commerce. There is an Iranian Embassy in Prague, and a Czech Republic embassy in Tehran.

Obviously Colt like many American companies tried to ride on their old reputation and management didn’t innovate/create new product.

CZ certainly makes outstanding firearms! Their Shadow 2 is an incredible buy for the price! CZ also has it’s hands in Dan Wesson which produces very fine firearms and 1911’s that stand with the best of them at a lower price point and they don’t use MIM parts! Wait for their DWX hopefully coming out soon it looks to be a class winner! This is a real win as Colt may have been lost to us forever.

The Czechs are some of the first arms producers in history, they made guns long before the USA was discovered. British BREN, Israeli UZI, both copies of Czech machine guns.. And do you know that words "pistol" and "howitzer" are originally Czech words? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_English_words_of_Czech_origin

Colt got stuck in time, military contracting, and political correctnes with smart gun foolishness. CZ rescued them from oblivion.

I always thought CZ VZ61 is way more famous than CZ 75…Maybe because it is commonly known only as Scorpion, rather than by it’s official name…

Everytime I hear Czechoslovakia it’s like a blast from the past. Shit hasn’t been around for 30 years yo.

I wonder if CZ BREN will be able to gain military contract. A lot of countries already acquired these, such as egypt, hungary, pakistan and french special anti-terrorism police unit. They are what militaries love – cheap, reliable yet competitive. If such huge customer joins, it means production will be in USA, we simply do not have enough capacity here.

Until Hitler’s arrival in 1938, the Czechoslovakia was one of the few European parliamentary democracies, rich and advanced. After the defeat of Hitler, it fell into the Soviet sphere of influence. (Given that Prague is 350 km / 217 mi south of Berlin.) But it was not the Soviet country, only a puppet state, as was East Germany. It took only 40 years and it is more than 30 years over. Today, the Czech Republic is EU and NATO member and has diplomatic rifts with both Russia and China. The last time the Czechs really upset China was when the chairman of the senate and a delegation officially visited Taiwan and spoke in parliament about the fight for freedom. 😀 It was the first official visit to Taiwan by a representative of another state in about 40 years.

Hate seeing American companies go under then bought by foreign companies.

  21. EGO maniac on April 17, 2023 at 4:14 am

And the value of actual colt guns just skyrocketed.
