Hollows also offer less recoil in my experience, especially with smaller handguns like the M&P Shield.

  2. Andries Olivier on December 3, 2021 at 10:40 pm

Allow point doesn’t feet in ‘n loo barrel like 1911 45

  4. Jim Bob on December 3, 2021 at 10:49 pm

Think of court and how the jurors might think of your ammo choice in a self defense situation

  5. Scott S on December 3, 2021 at 10:51 pm

What is the best self defense round for a 0.50 AE?

    What Self-Defense Ammo should pick for 9mm, .357, .45, 12 gauge, .223 5.56, .40, and .380 here https://youtu.be/47CrQCjXrx8

  13. ZDC on December 3, 2021 at 11:00 pm

One question. Why is the brass nickle plated for self defense ammo? I like the look of it better but wouldn’t a regular brass casing work just as well?

Edit: it was actually two questions

  14. francotirador941 on December 3, 2021 at 11:00 pm

Wow this is a great video I’m surprised you don’t have more views

  15. jack46234 on December 3, 2021 at 11:01 pm

My neighbor is a retired police officer. He laughed when I told him I carry a 9mm S&W Shield for self defense. He said that if the other person has on a "winter coat" with a sweater underneath that my 9mm will not penetrate the clothing. He said that the same is true for my AR-15. Unless I use .556 NATO round, it will not penetrate clothing.
Is he right? Did I just waste a LOT of money on junk? Please advise. Thanks

Hornady Critical Defense are not hollow points

  17. Jason Washington on December 3, 2021 at 11:05 pm

Which hollow point bullets can a glock 35 gen 4 use. Cause I bought some 10mm rounds in they won’t fit it

  18. dame6661 on December 3, 2021 at 11:06 pm

    Good info for a newbie.

  19. Timothy Hirman on December 3, 2021 at 11:06 pm

Not a good video guys. Multiple mistakes. Watch THE YANKEE MARSHAL if you want to see a guy who tells the truth.

  20. Führer on December 3, 2021 at 11:06 pm

Hello, I have a sig pro 2022 .40 and it is giving me a slight problem with the ammunition at the time of going up the ramp to the barrel for the next shot, it does not go up completely and the weapon locks. Brand Aguila 180gr and another one more similar to Aguila but I don’t remember the name. If you can help me with this, I will thank you.

  21. nicphia on December 3, 2021 at 11:07 pm

I only carry Hertenburger Buscadaro Ticondas, they are the best ammo, no need to test them, I ONLY use the precious variety.

  22. Lionel Raboso on December 3, 2021 at 11:07 pm

Dear … I greet you from Argentina. I ask you, in my country some gun shops sell their Hornady steel match 9mm HAP ammunition, is this ammunition suitable for defense or is it only for competition? If it is suitable for defense, how does it compare to the
Hornady XTP? What are the advantages and disadvantages? I already congratulate you on your videos. Regards.

  23. Anthony Armondis on December 3, 2021 at 11:09 pm

    Thank you sir. Good info

  24. Speed Demon on December 3, 2021 at 11:09 pm

Well if the first one is supposed to break apart when it hits something hard then if it hits the assailants bone then they are fucked.

  25. Joseph Pacchetti on December 3, 2021 at 11:10 pm

Your misinformed there son, On the Hornady Critical Defense round, you said "the material enters the bullet and causes it to expand", Actually it’s there to do the opposite, that’s to keep the material from entering the point and to ensure expansion. Yw.

  26. None Done on December 3, 2021 at 11:11 pm

    Good job

  27. Danthony Cross on December 3, 2021 at 11:12 pm

This is a very educational video

  28. Richard Fernandez on December 3, 2021 at 11:12 pm

Do you people live in the hood?

  29. VeGaSkInG 702 on December 3, 2021 at 11:14 pm

    Get them hollows ready

  30. Angel Medina on December 3, 2021 at 11:15 pm

Can y’all answer my question, can a 45 bullet shoot out of a glock 19?

  31. ILive2Rescue on December 3, 2021 at 11:16 pm

I currently use Hornady Custom 40 S&W 180 gr. XTP (#9136) for my home defense in my Springfield XDM 3.8. I’ve been doing a lot of research, but am coming up with a lot of conflicting reports on whether hollow points are more efficient than R.I.P. bullets. What’s your take? I want to do anything I can to ensure the target I’m shooting is the only casualty. (As much as possible, that is.)

  32. Chance Blevins on December 3, 2021 at 11:17 pm

Um hollow points will still go through a body

  33. Bruce Lee on December 3, 2021 at 11:17 pm

Well worded and really enjoyed. I dont necessarily agree with the ammo choices but to each there own. I’d also like to say that it makes me happy to see someone from a younger generation take so much pride in firearms and work. Thanks for the video and keep making more

  34. James The Drone Noob on December 3, 2021 at 11:18 pm

Why make them with nickel coated brass?

  35. AndreasInGreer on December 3, 2021 at 11:20 pm

    Very informative.

  36. Anthony D. Grande on December 3, 2021 at 11:25 pm

Is 40 calibre "Home Defense" ammo the same thing or serve the same purpose as "hollow points" if meant for home use?

  37. Damon Blake jr on December 3, 2021 at 11:25 pm

    Thank you.. very informative

  38. Cameron Callaway on December 3, 2021 at 11:26 pm

    Never heard of ARX

  39. Chance1957 on December 3, 2021 at 11:29 pm

Any of it works fine. These splitting hairs videos are a waste of time.

  40. alrestauro on December 3, 2021 at 11:29 pm

Great information in making my decision on what is going to be my best self defense ammo. My choice would be the Ruger ARX Polymer. Thank you so much.

  41. Tom n on December 3, 2021 at 11:30 pm

After 60 years involvement with firearms and years of experience carrying a pistol, I finely choose Hornday 9 mm or 380 that uses the FTX bullet. I like the fact that the FTX has a low probably of pass through and collateral damage down range.

  42. YoungBoy Never Broke Again on December 3, 2021 at 11:31 pm

    Plot twist they are advertising

  43. Diego Forest on December 3, 2021 at 11:32 pm

Total newbie here but it seems like you would never need more than a clips worth of hollow points because I would just use plain rounds for practice. Am I missing something?

  44. Andries Olivier on December 3, 2021 at 11:33 pm

Why use ammo what the idiots are going to do is push children and woman in front, so think first before you approach such place how you going to handle it with out child or unnecessary lives taken, remember beer rv, food, windose can be replace but not young live and the devil know about it, use water cannon hang them up to dry and sepperata the younger, then gas them in holding cells

  45. QUICK on December 3, 2021 at 11:34 pm

Federal HST is the best performing SD round on the market, if it’s not in this conversation then you’re clearly a shill.

  46. Jason Davis on December 3, 2021 at 11:34 pm

My thing with self defense ammo is its extremely nitch when people start hiding in front of stuff instead of behinde ill put more then 5 rounds of it in the one mag i keep for personal defense

  47. JGlock20G4 Volpe on December 3, 2021 at 11:34 pm

This is all trash self defense ammo accept for the gold dot. How the hell is Ruger ammo on here but Federal hst is not? Lol

  48. John OCHICAGO on December 3, 2021 at 11:35 pm

New Jersey is the last state that prohibits hollow point….

  49. Peter Northrup on December 3, 2021 at 11:35 pm

230 grain ball. Winchester. Walmart. Stop wasting your money. It will knock them down like a truck hit them. You won’t need a second shot. When some fool breaks into your home. The last thing your going to be thinking about is over penetration. It will put a fist size hole in him. If he is on drugs. Shoot twice. Wait till he stops breathing till you call the police. And remember. I feared for my life. He said he was going to kill me and rape my wife. Remember. Wait till he is dead. Then call. They always make a gurgling sound when they are close to dying. It’s a sound you won’t forget. Then smile at him. You protected your family. Make dam sure he is dead before you call. Go do the paperwork. Then get back to work. Think I’m kidding? You did your job.

Any commercial Jhp Ammo is fine.
