Rather have the 2.0 Shield. I have the 9mm and the .40.

What’s the difference between the 1.0 and 2.0 Shields

  3. William Naman on December 19, 2021 at 7:50 pm

Walther CCP competes for ease of use and recoil with EZ. It’s ergonomics are better IMO.

This video is fantastic! You covered everything I was curious about. I really liked your review; the camera work was perfection, and the contrast/compare presentation extremely informative.

I love and appreciate all the accurate information

I just traded in my Shield Gen 1 for a 9 Shield EZ today. I put my wife into the 380 Shield EZ about a year ago, been wanting the 9 version ever since. These are great EDC guns.

Thank you for helping me decide which version to purchase

  9. Chris Taylor on December 19, 2021 at 7:55 pm

    Buy the ez lol

‘Seems like the grip safety does nothing to prevent one of the most common causes of negligent discharges: re-holstering (pushing down on the grip) while something snags on the trigger. That’s what a trigger safety is intended for. I just don’t see the reasoning behind grip safeties.

  11. Kyle T on December 19, 2021 at 7:56 pm

OG shield is the only way to go IMO for ccw in so many ways (some as mentioned). The ez is for women w/ weak hand strength. 1.0’s are just as good as the 2.0’s. Most of the time you can find them cheaper and use the money you save to upgrade the sights and trigger assembly then it’s even better for about the same price. Don’t let the salesman push on you what they have in the case! Do your homework shoot/hold the ones your interested and make the decision based on what your needs are.

  12. Tony the Butcher on December 19, 2021 at 7:57 pm

    Never had a issue with a 1.0

  13. BobbyDee51 on December 19, 2021 at 7:57 pm

Great video! Very informative. I have a 9mm Shield 2.0 for my EDC which I love. I’m thinking of the 9mm EZ for home defense because it has the rail to mount my laser (also I’m pushing 70 lol). Btw, I forget if it was mentioned in the video, but another plus for the EZ is the magazine is much easier to load.

Is the Shield EZ trigger polymer or polymer coated steel?

  15. Gary D Gaither on December 19, 2021 at 7:59 pm

Very nice, no BS. Solid info beginning to end.

  16. David Reed on December 19, 2021 at 7:59 pm

Very nice review sir. My sister just bought the EZ and she loves it

  17. naz dagg on December 19, 2021 at 8:00 pm

the M2.0 Shield is a striker fired gun and technically a double action pistol by dubious Glock standards (so if your a fumblefutz you can glock yourself). the Shield EZ appears to be a hammer fired, single action gun, see 1911. with the grip safety and the thumb safety you can carry it "cocked and locked" like a 1911. downside is that during the draw, you have to remember to throw the switch to fire– a simple training issue. please correct me if I’m wrong. thanks.

One reason one might pick the E-Z Over The Shield, is that the higher weight and longer Barrel are actually going to reduce felt recoil

Then there are people for whom the shields grip is a little too thin, which can wind up with it sitting canted in the hand when you draw
For me that little bit of extra thickness in the EZ’s grip brings it to point of a much more naturally

  19. Tony the Butcher on December 19, 2021 at 8:01 pm

Ez looks like a full size

  20. abc on December 19, 2021 at 8:01 pm

    Good comparisons, thanks!

  21. Ernest Walden on December 19, 2021 at 8:02 pm

The EZ is my edc for working. Its light accurate fun to shoot and very reliable. I hardly know I have it at work. I do a lot of bending crawling and lifting. I’m a service plumber for 30 yrs and hands are sore from arthritis and the EZ is easier to load and chamber. But if I’m not working and just out to the movies or out shopping or out to eat I carry my glock 19 with 2 extra magazines.

  22. HomeTipsAndTricks on December 19, 2021 at 8:02 pm

I own a .380 EZ and really like it, however… the magazine release is WAY too sensitive. A VERY short amount of depression will release the magazine. A soft holster on the waist will cause a release if bumped.

  23. Paul Dayao on December 19, 2021 at 8:03 pm

    Can’t wait to get my 2.0!!! 🙌

  24. Irish Wake on December 19, 2021 at 8:04 pm

Been looking for my first pistol. So glad I found your video. The clearest explanation I’ve seen. Thank you so much.

  25. James Gregory on December 19, 2021 at 8:06 pm

Don’t know if anyone mentioned this, but the loaded chamber indicator on the EZ can be used (felt) in the dark I would assume. That is a real bonus in my opinion. Also the rail is great, and should be on Shields 1 and 2. Personally I think my shield 1.0 is kind of a bitch to rack so yes maybe the EZ is in my future as I am getting older faster! But I did an aftermarket trigger and bits, and aftermarket grips to bring my 1.0 maybe up to a 3.0! Shoots like a dream and never a failure.
Great review by the way. Thanks very much.

  26. marklower007 on December 19, 2021 at 8:06 pm

I feel like my regular shield 2.0 PC slide racks back like butter and I’m a skinny bastard

  27. seijirou302 on December 19, 2021 at 8:13 pm

What really like about the EZ is that I can rack it one handed using my pants or pretty much any way you can imagine. For all the things marked "tactical" that really aren’t, this really is a tactical weapon that funny enough isn’t marked as such.

  28. Reel Reviews on December 19, 2021 at 8:14 pm

Great review! Literally the only thing leaning me towards ez is the ease of racking the slide. I love everything else about the regular m2.0. This is a tough one.

  29. ChatterBock on December 19, 2021 at 8:15 pm

When did the regular sheild come out?

  30. Edward Palomares on December 19, 2021 at 8:15 pm

I have them both and concealment is ok with either one, the weight difference threw me off at first, but the easy racking is what sold me on the EZ!

  31. Marcus Moore on December 19, 2021 at 8:15 pm

I have an SD9VE, an M&P Bodyguard. 380, a 6946, and am adding the EZ 9 to my collection. I appreciate the video.

  32. Carolinagurl on December 19, 2021 at 8:16 pm

Just bought an EZ Shield and target practiced today. A little difficult to slide but overall satisfied.

  33. Joe Simons on December 19, 2021 at 8:17 pm

I just ordered the EZ. I have carried a 40 Cal Springfield XD for years but at 70 years old the pull on the slide is getting harder to engage so I am switching to this weapon. I am looking forward to taking it to the range for break in. Thanks for the video you explained the differences well. Nice tip about cleaning the EZ.

  34. 796andy2 on December 19, 2021 at 8:17 pm

racking is ez , slide release is anything but …

  35. Chase Davidson on December 19, 2021 at 8:17 pm

I’m considering the EZ because for the same price as the M2 I can get the EZ plus 4 extra magazines plus a range bag so I’d like to know how it compares. Is the M2 worth the higher price?

  36. Joie on December 19, 2021 at 8:19 pm

    Just got the 9EZ…so excited!!!👍🏼😁

  37. AJ on December 19, 2021 at 8:22 pm

There’s personally no reason at all id choose the ez over the standard model but I still think its awesome edition to the line up and I’m definitely considering it for my girl.

  38. Craig Jasper on December 19, 2021 at 8:23 pm

nice review. one thing the 2.0 EZ has very different than the 2.0 is a front lower picatinny rail. most people like lights or lasers to mount on them. It certainly makes for tougher concealment, but it is an additional feature that I did not hear mentioned.

  39. David M on December 19, 2021 at 8:23 pm

Personally never own a gun leaving a dangling pinky. The trigger on the EZ is much better because it’s hammer fired. Great video and Thanks for the info.

  40. IrrelevantSkill on December 19, 2021 at 8:24 pm

Anyone found an extra ez mag? Would like to find another mag

  41. abc on December 19, 2021 at 8:28 pm

The Shield EZ, imo, is intended for a different market than the other Shields. EZ is great for those with weaker or compromised hands– easier slide to rack, easier to load the magazines, and a grip safety for some reason; not as easy to carry because of larger size. I’ll keep my regular Shield 2.0 and new Shield Plus as long as I can operate them. More choices are always good, though, as everyone doesn’t have the same needs in a handgun.

  42. btyhntr on December 19, 2021 at 8:29 pm

Absolutely love my 9mm EZ. Functionality, accuracy, reliability, concealability, and cleaning is by far the best. I use it for my EDC.

  43. Anthony Garcia on December 19, 2021 at 8:29 pm

The EZ is a little heavier, but the recoil is low..

  44. The One on December 19, 2021 at 8:29 pm

If only the ez had larger capacity….

  45. ron5935 on December 19, 2021 at 8:30 pm

Have both but second is not a shield. It is a compact. I do not like the grip safety. Worse is the total inability to load the compact gun magazine. I defy any normal person to load one . S&W recommended the uplula loader assist. This works but I can only get 9 carts loaded, not 10. It seems to bottom out, so I am considering modifying the spring. Grip on the compact is first class.

  46. HalfCrazy520 on December 19, 2021 at 8:30 pm

I think the difference in weight can be accounted for by the barrel & slide being a shade longer, but also due to the stainless steel reinforcing in the frame all the way out thru the dust cover (seen through those ports above the pic rail). For concealment the size difference is almost inconsequential but the EZ being slightly longer, slightly thicker, and slightly heavier helps in shooting the pistol (sight radius, recoil management, better purchase on the grip).

I have the M&P 9mm 2.0 Compact but I’m looking for a summer gun. This review was great, thanks

  48. B S on December 19, 2021 at 8:38 pm

Excellent review of the difference in strength required to operate the slide. Thanks for this really clear and comprehensive review.

  49. none on December 19, 2021 at 8:39 pm

Great review/video and obviously someone who knows what he is doing … I appreciate the educational aspect since I am looking for the EZ model and now I have a better understanding what I’ll be looking for. You did mention some prices in passing which is very helpful, however since these are such a blind item for many of us buying the model for the first time, the 4 shops I spoke with are pushing the MSRP. If anyone on this channel has real world pricing in various states please share – thank you.

  50. John Man on December 19, 2021 at 8:39 pm

I rented a 2.0 and an EZ at my range and enjoyed shooting both, but as a 66-year old new shooter I found it a joy loading the 22-style magazine of the EZ. Because of my hands I tend to struggle loading more than a few rounds into regular 9mm magazines. I bought the EZ. It’s a beautifully designed gun.
