Buddhists try to shut down rifle range

Buddhist monks in the Scottish village of Eskdalemuir have launched a global smear campaign against a nearby shooting range that has Home Office approval and support from UK police departments and US Special Forces. Thousands of people who live nowhere near the range are rejecting the monks’ teachings about tolerance and trying to put the range out the business in a region starved of investment.

People need to talk to each other and listening !! So, there is always a way ! I think. Good luck for both parts !!

Leave a bad review on their page. In mass

  3. D Forr on November 24, 2021 at 12:11 am

…hummmm. Which is more beneficial to the community? Running around in orange bed sheets or a business that provides jobs. Heres a suggestion, find some currency that is uncommon, here in the US it could be the $2 bill and pay everyone in that script. Let the local community stomp on the bed sheet wearing muppets. Who stays who goes.

I would love to give a .338 magnum and ring on the 2000 yard gong or maybe a 50BMG 😉 that’s range is huge ! !

  5. sid1908 on November 24, 2021 at 12:13 am

True Buddhists will try to persuade you, but in non intervening way, and also mind their own business mostly, these people are like antis

  6. Joshua Honeck on November 24, 2021 at 12:16 am

    Very educational channel

  7. -- on November 24, 2021 at 12:16 am

Buddhism has always been extremely biased against firearms and hunting.
Buddhists in Taiwan have always been pushing against legal spearfishing and pest control, and at the same time releasing tons of invasive species illegally into native waters. And now we see the same type of people bringing their toxic values to the west.

  8. Nigel Parke on November 24, 2021 at 12:17 am

Who’s country do they think there in the British shooting people should land up and tell them to get out and go to the farm and enjoy a bit of shooting and let them see the country won’t stand for this and if they don’t like that to clear of as for the ones who put in against the range who don’t live there there votes do not count it’s none of there business and don’t have a say

  9. Andy Turner on November 24, 2021 at 12:17 am

what happened to the old Buddhist saw of "shit happens"

  10. Matty Allen on November 24, 2021 at 12:19 am

Whh have the Scotts become a whinny bunch of little pricks?

  11. hobby on November 24, 2021 at 12:21 am

Lol if you drive up there at 5am in the summer you’ll see the "Buddhists" walking back from the village to the temple with cigarettes and cans of coke. I was like I thought these folk were all healthy living but nah just alot of folk running away from the citys and got alot of time to think.
Its mostly Bikers that use the place for a coffee in the summer as that road is like the TT every half decent day , they dont mind the bikes ripping past now that I think 🤔 if it’s a safety issue 🤔.

  12. Michael Goodwin on November 24, 2021 at 12:24 am

Just remember that sabs/antis are few, the majority of people are happy to live and let live and not interfere with things that either don’t concern them. Best to ignore them best you can.

  13. steveolkinevil on November 24, 2021 at 12:25 am

How about the monks sod off back to where they originated?

  14. James M on November 24, 2021 at 12:25 am

  16. Jean-François Kamath on November 24, 2021 at 12:26 am

I normally don’t post like this, but the thumbnail and title are offensive. I’m not buddhist, but I see no reason to specifically call out a group and then use a coopted and demeaning version of a faith symbol. There is meaningful discourse to be had, but the title and thumbnail make it clear that the point of this video is to bash a group rather than discuss different viewpoints. All the "crybaby" buddha image does is state, "Hey, ya’ll are a bunch of whiny little b***s and we’re going to call you out publicly while disrespecting a symbol of your faith." Good strategy to get people on your side.

  17. Stephen Davies on November 24, 2021 at 12:28 am

The fanatics are the religious zealots. Religion in all its forms (including communism) has caused more death, destruction and misery to mankind than any other human activity. It speaks volumes that while these Buddhists claim to be peaceful, they have made no effort to curb the distressing issues that have been created by their actions.

  18. Adam Basham on November 24, 2021 at 12:29 am

What a beautiful part of the country…… And very nice set up as well……. If all these people can muster in a few dozen signatures , I wouldn’t be to concerned , especially when only one is a local..

  19. Jason Garratt on November 24, 2021 at 12:30 am

If they don’t like it they know what to do, we all need to stand firm and not be pushed around by idiots with an ideology of their beliefs and not real facts. Shooting is a great sport and I would be lost without it and a very lucrative business to be in. They have no respect what is good for thousands of people and the economy in the area, I bet they won’t compensate the people who could be out of work if it went.

  20. Ben Woodcock on November 24, 2021 at 12:31 am

Certainly not an ideal combination of a meditation retreat next to a firearms training site! Tho at 2km the noise shouldn’t be that much of an issue, especially indoors which is where you are gonna be most of the time in Scotland! If anyone is to blame it will be the planners. Wouldn’t be the first time. If there’s intolerance in the monastery and community too, that should not be a thing. Especially as Buddhists were pushed out of their main homeland due to lack of armed resistance.

  21. Steve on November 24, 2021 at 12:35 am

What a unique range. I’d love to visit for some 6.5 Creed fun. Stand Strong!

  22. Mark Sharp on November 24, 2021 at 12:35 am

    Is nothing sacred 😭

  23. Gunny Rabbit on November 24, 2021 at 12:35 am

The last sentence on this video sums it up in a nutshell! Its a joke! Buddhist monks spearheading a slander abuse and out right bullying attack on a fully legally approved business.

  24. Miguel Arroyo Colomer on November 24, 2021 at 12:36 am

I will love to visit that range. It looks magnificent.

  25. Paul Stevo Stevens on November 24, 2021 at 12:36 am

I don’t understand why people whom generally come from town and city life move to the countryside and try to change traditions and life styles of what they have not the slightest idea about. Surely the reason they moved there in the first place was to indulge in a life style alien to them… not change it to a way of life they was so desperate to escape from. Take this situation for instance, I know nothing about Buddhism but could you imagine uproar if I was to go into it and start protesting and demanding change of certain aspects of that or demanding they start singing Christian hymns etc.

  26. mchughcb on November 24, 2021 at 12:38 am

Guns, ricochetes don’t bother me. Guy that doesn’t hold the steering wheel while in a 4WD on a rough road is a big safety issue.

  27. jeffery cooper on November 24, 2021 at 12:39 am

Absolutely outrageous they’re trying to shut you down when religion is one of the biggest killer in the world

  28. Frank Day on November 24, 2021 at 12:40 am

I don’t believe for a moment that Buddists, of all people, have gone Woke. The Virtuous have infiltrated them, like they’re infesting the rest of the world.

  29. a walk on November 24, 2021 at 12:43 am

This is not Buddhists in general, it is a small number of people within that organisation that have more time on their hands and are looking for a purpose. The Buddhist religeon itself would not waste time and effort on interfering in the activities of others. I don’t see how having a gilded temple actually fits in with the flavour of Scotland.
People in glass houses should not throw stones. Fieldsports organisations should have a close look at these people and their motivation to disrupt legal activity.

  30. Frank Dooley on November 24, 2021 at 12:45 am

Diversity is our strength , I don’t think so.

  31. Neil Johnson on November 24, 2021 at 12:45 am

Id love to shoot at that range.

  32. Slow Turtle on November 24, 2021 at 12:46 am

Shooting is my meditation, my refuge from life’s everyday stress and where I find my inner peace. We have as much a right to search for that peace in our way as they do in theirs.
"Those who are free of resentful thoughts surely find peace" – Budda

no more place in this country for sectas
    its enough idiots

  35. TC on November 24, 2021 at 12:49 am

The thing is, when you talk to imaginary friends in the sky, you think up imaginary problems that are not actually problems.

  36. welditmick on November 24, 2021 at 12:50 am

If it was a bloody golf range, they would all be for it. Ignorance of firearms is the biggest threat to their use.

  37. Just Me on November 24, 2021 at 12:50 am

Pls email this problem to Dalai Lama living at Dharamshala, India. He is a sane person and will definately bring in some sense to some moron running the local monestry … He might have some personal agenda…
We are also sheltering Dalai Lama in India but he is a good guest…

BTW loved your range , support from India

  38. DitzyDoo on November 24, 2021 at 12:51 am

Mark, there will always be Webo’s who want everything their way. And when they don’t get their way they cry foul. Just keep smiling at them, it drives ’em nuts.

  39. helllokitty138 on November 24, 2021 at 12:53 am

    Not very Buddhist behaviour.

  40. imcalledsprite on November 24, 2021 at 12:53 am

Without watching this video if someone had told me that there were tibetan buddhist monks in the remote Scottish Highlands calling for harassment and online bullying a shooting centre, I would have called BS 🤣

  41. royalordinance on November 24, 2021 at 12:53 am

Interesting, the peacemongers are Thugs now.
Himalayas are perfect for Buddha worshippers, Britain is a country built on Archery and Marksmanship.
If there are any goorooz or fake-ears that can meditate a well-done steak onto a platter, -please post me.

some one post the email for the monastery two can play at that game

  44. M.K. Chase on November 24, 2021 at 12:54 am

Religion and idealism… responsible for more persecution, intolerance and misery than anything else I can think of.

Of all the things a monastery could focus on tackling… homelessness… slavery… child abuse… food poverty… and they choose a small group that like to practice target shooting.

    Religious nimbyism, nothing more.

I wonder if the monks have stopped to consider the tolerance shown to them… building a large foreign structure with a monolithic stone idol in the middle of an area of outstanding beauty?

    I think not!

  45. Mostiful on November 24, 2021 at 12:56 am

Ganhdi and Mandela have statues in parliament square, in commemoration of their ensuring that the Indian and African are supreme in their own country. The only way out of this clash of civilisations is to write a new contract with commonwealth colonies, one in which British culture is supreme in Britain.

  46. Tony Ashton on November 24, 2021 at 12:59 am

Showing their true colours another foreign entity that’s suddenly got new opinions on what’s best for the locals.Just not on.

  47. Ásagrimmr on November 24, 2021 at 12:59 am

I’m sorry you must deal with such ignorance and intolerance. Please resist them as you can. Buddhism if I’m not mistaken is about among other things equanimity. Equanimity is one of the four heavenly abodes it is the idea that a buddist should remain calm and unmoved because excitement, agitations are unjustified and unhelpful. Equanimity grows from knowledge not out of ignorance or selfishness……
Now that I have depleted about half of my brain cells I think I will need some meditation myself with some whisky and Jim Corbett.
