So normally guns are set around 10.9 11.5 , from the manufacture, very unlikely one would be over , if it was running high you could use heavier pellets , also most people don’t have a chrono , and if they did most wouldn’t no how to turn a gun up or down cheers Shane uk 🇬🇧

Hi there, I looked at the Goldstar on the BSA website and can’t fathom how you SET your pellet speed to 777f/s. Is the regulator adjustable?

So if I can check to see if I understand this correctly. If I was to buy a sub 12 ft/lb rifle as I dont have an FAC, there is still a chance that it could shoot over the legal limit ? Or are you referring to FAC rated rifles ?

    What a stupid law

No airgun can ever be set perfectly because the pellets themselves aren’t perfect ,inside a tin the weights of a pellet can differentiate. You can have 15-20 pellets that can bring the gun right on the edge of the legal limit although you set the gun at around 11.5 ft. Cheers

You also need to test a variety of pellets as setting up with just one kind of pellet only means that your legal with that pellet. You need to find the one or more pellet brand and type that give you the highest output and then use that to set up an air rifle so it means that your legal with all available pellets. I can’t say which pellets you need to try as they will give different results in different airguns. It could be a heavier pellet or a medium weight pellet that give you your optimum output.
The other thing is not everyone knows how to adjust there Airgun with the anti tampers in place to prevent adjustments being made. So they will need to find there pellet and a good gunsmith to carry out the work on their behalf.
Once again a top video Laity.

Maybe it is a stupid law BUT it is the law . Nothing we can do about it . I always take care to make sure my guns are well within the law . I don’t have to worry then 😀
