Affordable FX9 Carbine from Classic Firearms / Freedom Ordnance

Affordable FX9 Carbine from Classic Firearms / Freedom Ordnance

I get a lot of requests for my opinion on affordable firearms. I’m trying to accommodate this request by poking around out there and see’s what’s available. The FX-9 carbine sold through Classic Firearms but made by Freedom Ordnance is a reasonably priced 9mm carbine that’s very AR’ish in it’s design. I take a FX9 out for it’s first range session in this video.

Is the FX9 Pistol better than PSA Gen 4 9mm Shockwave? I’m trying to decide between the two.

  8. iLLBiLLsRoastBeats on November 14, 2021 at 9:02 pm

I think it’s kind of funny seeing a “Join NRA” banner under your vids knowing your (entirely justified” opinion of their organization

  9. Dick Gibson on November 14, 2021 at 9:04 pm

Did you feel like the stock trigger pull was too much?

  10. Citizen X on November 14, 2021 at 9:08 pm

Not gonna lie – freedom munitions ammo is shite. Waaaaay underpowered. Only ammo to ammo give me a squib as well. I don’t even use for it plinking.

  11. FNH CAT on November 14, 2021 at 9:09 pm

Nice little rig… assume it takes a LAW Tactical Folder?

Inexpensive base platform add $1k in upgrades plus your suppressor and you have a system comparable to an MPX….

10.5 inch version coming soon!!!! I emailed the company earlier this year (2020) about the possibility of a 10.5 version and this was their reply:

We are hoping to have them available in the near future for sale in our website. Thank you for your interest. Please keep an eye on the website and let me know if there is anything else I can help you with. Have a good evening.

I’m dying to get the pistol version; I too have also had a hankering for Mexican good lately,

  14. EpicRob on November 14, 2021 at 9:16 pm

the ruger pcc is less expensive, just as good, and can take glock mags(including drums if you don’t wind them too tight). Whats the point of this? Also these are completely out of stock and the pcc is in every store in my area, so another mark against it.

  15. Steve Coe on November 14, 2021 at 9:16 pm

A 22 revolver is more affordable

  16. Crotone79 on November 14, 2021 at 9:17 pm

Very disappointed with mine!! Every magazine regards of brand has issues ; double feeds, failure to battery etc. will be selling this POS ASAP!!!

  17. ΛCE on November 14, 2021 at 9:17 pm

always use genuine glock mags on 9mm carbines/rifles! the piece thats at the top on the mag, the lip, where it pushes the bullet up, the original Glock mags are higher, the aftermarket ones are lower, which always jams on these guns, when they made these guns they used the original glock mags too just fyi!!

  18. ILL REEL on November 14, 2021 at 9:17 pm

Nice Vid!!! I wonder how ETS mags will work

  19. Unkown User on November 14, 2021 at 9:18 pm

I owned the pistol version, the build quality was nice, but with iron sites I couldn’t hit a pop can from 15 feet away. Had a bunch of other shooters at my club try, same issue. Never had a single magazine issue, used many types.

  20. Joe Average on November 14, 2021 at 9:19 pm

    what suppressor is that?

  21. Josh on November 14, 2021 at 9:21 pm

Don’t recommend this gun for lefties. It will burn your face. I have to shoot it right handed. Which is not a complete deal braker considering I am slightly ambidextrous. My son likes this gun other than it’s 4 malfunctions in the first 200 rounds. Today it only loaded incorrectly one time. Other than that it shot 125 plus times perfectly. BTW my right cheek still burns.

  22. Andy ́s Solutions on November 14, 2021 at 9:22 pm

Nice to see on the ranch: when women shooting there 9mm carbines, the guys take there .308 out, but pritty quick back after they were gone. FunGun vs MachoGun 🙂

  23. Jordan De Marchi on November 14, 2021 at 9:22 pm

My favourite gun to shoot that I own! Cheap to run, reliable as hell, and great to mag dump

  24. Nomad 75 on November 14, 2021 at 9:24 pm

Love my Freedom Ordinance FX9. I bought the shorty version , can’t remember if it’s a 4 or 4.5" barrel. I keep the stock in it’s shortest position, and it makes a great pack gun. It has given me a serious PCC but I have to admit.

  25. Franco Stacy on November 14, 2021 at 9:24 pm

Love the review. Price does matter to me. Im considering the fx9 or the ati milsport 9….any suggestions.

  26. Tony Cummings on November 14, 2021 at 9:25 pm

Brother you are good at the bump firing !! I want a fx-9.

  27. mdredheadguy1979 on November 14, 2021 at 9:26 pm

Do they make one in .45acp????

  28. Yamaha FZ1000 James YamahaR1 on November 14, 2021 at 9:26 pm

Do they make a ca legal one

  29. Josh Sinclair on November 14, 2021 at 9:27 pm

Hey guys wondering if anyone else has had good Reliabilty with these? I’m maybe gonna be getting one myself

  30. J. Jackson on November 14, 2021 at 9:28 pm

So that red dot auto zeros? Since it was the first time firing it and it was spot on and all. LoL.

  31. allmopars on November 14, 2021 at 9:30 pm

Got a family member about to take cpl class do you think they’d look like an ass taking a fx9 to class to shoot with? They seem to think so but i told them all the guys would be jealous a chick has a cooler gun. Oh and mine is the pistol version not carbine.

  32. Mathew Kelley on November 14, 2021 at 9:30 pm

I have over a 1,000 rounds through mine. Absolutely no problems, awesome carbine.

  33. Gerry K on November 14, 2021 at 9:30 pm

I Bet the Optic costs more than the firearm ????

  34. Mr McDonald on November 14, 2021 at 9:31 pm

Of course it likes Glock mags! it comes with a glock mag and it is built for Glock 17’s i believe.

  35. Don’tBlameMeIVotedForTrump on November 14, 2021 at 9:32 pm

I have the pistol version….600 rounds through mine with mainly federal round ball 115 grain and about 50 rounds of Sig self defense ammo and zero malfunctions…It’s such a fun pistol…works good with ETS mags too

  36. GGamble_Tac on November 14, 2021 at 9:32 pm

    sgm mags are trash!

  37. David Forsberg on November 14, 2021 at 9:35 pm

FX9 is great indoor range tool to keep AR skills up while 5.56 may be too strong but 9mm is fine. Recoil feels similar to my 5.56 ARs, which is a bonus. Plus it takes all Glock mags from my model 19 to the 18.

Btw I do the same 5 rules as well. Glad I am not alone in pucker factor.

  38. Incelsior on November 14, 2021 at 9:35 pm

Boy, that NRA endorsement hasn’t aged well 🤔

  39. Franco Stacy on November 14, 2021 at 9:36 pm

To me this video showed a lot of failures with different magazines. Failed to feed, failed to ignite, fail to lock back, and failed to release a magazine. I really want to love this gun and buy it, but I’m leaning towards the Ruger pc9 with the chassis model.

  40. Bill Bruns on November 14, 2021 at 9:37 pm

Could you review the Chippawa M1-9 carbine

  41. Oscar Aguilar on November 14, 2021 at 9:38 pm

My fx9 stove pipes a lot with the sgm mags

  42. LJ Castillano on November 14, 2021 at 9:39 pm

How can we aquire that baby….
    Philippines….

  43. William Tyndale on November 14, 2021 at 9:40 pm

I just bought the FX 9 8 in… And I’m having trouble with the GSM sticks they sent with it.
They should send Glock factory mags with it. .🤔

  44. Russ F on November 14, 2021 at 9:41 pm

    SWEET gun.
    I love mine.
    Amazing customer service too.

  45. Jordan De Marchi on November 14, 2021 at 9:41 pm

These guns are now$1,300 In Canada. They used to be $900 in 2017 but now the "updated" version with the 15" M-LOK rail is $1,300. That is how I got mine for

  46. lakecrab on November 14, 2021 at 9:42 pm

The FFL factor takes the fun out of buying on line.

  47. Building with Todd on November 14, 2021 at 9:43 pm

I’m wondering if anyone else has one of these and was disappointed with the tolerances as she’s a wiggle monster "upper and lower"

  48. Cruithin on November 14, 2021 at 9:46 pm

Looks like these may be unavailable in Canada until 2022. Yep, that really sucks.

  49. Sensei on November 14, 2021 at 9:47 pm

Extar ep9 cheaper far more reliable
