The Marlin GSBL that Missed Quality Control
The Marlin GSBL that Missed Quality Control
Marlin could have at least shouldered the rifle before it left the factory. Stevie Wonder could have seen and caught this. This screams zero pride in their product and no respect for the customers.
So by the sights being canted any other problems with the rifle how does it perform with reliability
Sorry to hear and see them sights being dovetailed on wrong. I just took delivery and also took a chance on ordering a 336W BL LS, sight unseen. I discovered everything was straight and for the most part well fitted. I say for the most part because some of the laminated stock was 1/32” proud (small amount, and I don’t care). This is a hunter / carry gun/ range blaster and not an heirloom piece. I got lucky. I ran out and bought a lottery ticket (not so lucky this time). I am going to scope it so It’s All Good!
This morning I ordered a .45-70 1895 GSBL from a gun store, but I had a friend who worked there. He gave it a once over look and told me to buy it. All good. It’s on it’s way. I’ve got the Jones for a painted Laminated stock to beat up during deer season so with the Nitride treatment, this .45-70 will be my number one bush pusher, and the 336W will back it up.
I hope that those optic additions will solve your needs despite the goofy rear sights. Peace Be To Journey!
Okay Thanks
Okay cool because I’m thinking about buying the same rifle
Uncrooked sights are $199.00 extra.
Subscribed.
I just ordered a lever rail and topping it with a Vortex CrossfireII. Hopefulty nothing else is wrong

"You should have bought a Henry!"… that what I was told multiple times and I finally did.

It is truly pathetic that STILL after 8 years Marlington is producing garbage. I believe all the people who said the problems are fixed obviously were idiots and didn’t know what to look for, or they were Remington hacks trying to Salvage their reputation and discredit my video.
Good luck with the fix.
From what I have been told by people in the industry, this is what happened.
Marlin was bought by Remington and Remington wanted to move the factory.
What Remington didn’t know was that the machines were very old and basically "Stuck" where they were.
There also were no machinist notes of any kind that was company property, it was in the machinist’s heads.
So Marlin/Remington was having to take existing rifles apart and reverse engineer them in order to produce the necessary machinist information to make more.
They did this while trying to still make (very bad) rifles to sell so the Stock Holders would not know, they didn’t give a shit about You and I the consumer.
They will get it straightened out but it will take time.
One of my relatives received a Marlin guide gun as a Christmas present this year. His sights were also crooked. I’ve been waiting until the reports of Marlins quality control improve but that doesn’t seem to be coming anytime soon. I would like to buy another Marlin lever action and I’m very happy with the two older models I own. I hope Marlin / Remington get their act together soon.
Came in from another review of this rifle which also had sight issues. I like your gun, it’s unique. I haven’t seen one like it, just the stainless steel version.
Did this rifle come with the writing canted sights inside on the box or did you write that on the box
