my trigger won’t reset after each shot, sometimes it will other times i would have to pull the trigger a countless number of times for it to reset again. Anyone know of any fixes?

Remember there is a lifetime guarantee on these just like the high point now it was not there in the beginning but if you have a Taurus Spectrum that is older they will still guarantee that warranty, do not use steel ammunition with steel there is a thicker lip from the bullet to the casing and there’s more but just don’t use steel. This was my pocket carry until it was stolen from my wife she put purplish pink grips on it everywhere so I had to buy a new one

Why did you say "We had no malfunctions whatsoever" when you had a light primer strike in your short shooting clip at 9:07?

  8. Jayanti Batabyal on July 11, 2023 at 5:39 am

Great review Sootch, like always! Love this little pistol! It’s my carry everywhere shooter. Got the LCP 2 too, but I seem to favor the Spectrum.

  9. John Carpententte on July 11, 2023 at 5:40 am

When I release the slide, it locks and can’t manually eject a live round. Anyone else? To unlock the slid, I have to just so slightly pull back on the trigger.

  10. Tim Renner on July 11, 2023 at 5:40 am

My original gun would not even chamber a round, sent it back. They put another barrel in it and had the same problem. sent me aa new one and every other round jams. by far, the worst gun I’ve ever owned.

  11. Samuel Morado on July 11, 2023 at 5:41 am

WOW. I had to use a Vice and a set of lineman pliers to put the spring in. I have a Galloway spring guide rod set coming. This is my 2nd Spectrum and I paid 199.99 plus tax . First one shot anything . 7/30/2022.

  12. EducatedBlackMan on July 11, 2023 at 5:42 am

I own the Ruger LCP Max and with `12 rd mags, I love it. Concealable and high capacity. I was considering adding the Bersa Thunder until I discovered the Spectrum. Only having 6 rds is a turn-off. If there are after-market higher-capacity mags I may get it.

  13. Steve on July 11, 2023 at 5:44 am

I bought one today, and it was a total failure!! It worked all of 10 or 15 seconds before the extractor disappeared!! I fired 2 or three rounds and all of a sudden it would no longer extract the spent casing! I bought it brand new,and it’s a darn good thing I took it to the range nearby, before I trusted my life with it! I returned it to the store, and they’re sending it back to Taurus for repair. Even if they replace the extractor, how long will the rest of it last??!! It goes to show ,NEVER TRUST YOUR LIFE TO EVEN A BRAND NEW GUN UNTIL YOU HAVE HAD A CHANCE TO FIRE IT YOURSELF 🔥!!

  14. T.C. on July 11, 2023 at 5:46 am

I found if you push the slide, instead of pulling, to caulk it that your forefinger and thumb fit much better in those grooves… another thing i’ve found is if you use your middle finger as your trigger finger, resting your index finger along the side of the frame, then it really feels good in the hand and the grip fits really well… even with the standard base plate… it also feels more stable…

  15. RnissingU on July 11, 2023 at 5:47 am

just brought mine to the range and when i say IT JAMMED EVERY shot im not joking. Couldnt even cycle of full mag. would not buy if looking for first gun

  16. President REvil on July 11, 2023 at 5:47 am

I owned one of these a few years ago and it was nothing but regret. I shot 200 rds through it and it would jam every other round or have stovepipe failures, I had failures to feed, double feed and failures to extract. I shot Winchester target ammo only and it never broke in. I also took it back to the store and had a ranger officer shoot with me to see if it was my fault or the gun and it jammed up on him as well, so I immediately traded it in on a rock island 380 1911 and was happy with that choice for several years. I had nothing but problems from this firearm.

  17. Carina Lopez on July 11, 2023 at 5:49 am

I have to rack my back very quickly or it won’t feed into ramp

  18. Den E on July 11, 2023 at 5:49 am

I preferr standard cirration. The rubber on the slide becomes slippery if your hand is sweaty in hot weather. Hard to pull the slide. The magazine has to be tapped in to make sure it is seated, otherwise it might not feed the gun. Otherwise very cool gun, love firing it at the range.

  19. Steve on July 11, 2023 at 5:51 am

The guy that put mine together on the assembly line at Taurus must have been drunk that day. Mine worked for about 10 seconds before the extractor disappeared! I’m 67 years old now and I have NEVER bought s new product that worked for all of 10 or 15 seconds before it broke!! I can’t say enough BAD things about Taurus now!!

  20. Samuel Morado on July 11, 2023 at 5:52 am

I’m sold. I saw one for 229. Think I’ll go ahead and get it

  21. B on July 11, 2023 at 5:56 am

Great review 🙂 love the pinky rest part with the longer clip, want to sell any of yours? I need one mine was stolen 🙁

  22. Raymond [Раймонд] Azarcon on July 11, 2023 at 5:56 am

Thanks for the feedback on this firearm. I will get mine next month as a back-up pistol. Gun registration here in the Phils. is a nightmare. LOL.

  23. J33PFYN4TIK on July 11, 2023 at 5:56 am

I have owned many Taurus’s (some good, some bad) since the mid 80’s, however within the last few years, I feel they have really "upped" their game. They are definitely making reputable, innovative, and competitive products within the firearm industry for the budget minded purchaser. Within the last few years, I’ve owned a Spectrum, GX4, G2C, G3, 605, 905, 856, and Judge, which all functioned flawlessly.

  24. Rick on July 11, 2023 at 5:57 am

I have 2 Spectrums, alternating carry and practice. Both have over 5,000 rounds. One of them has been back to Taurus for repair 3 times, twice for ejector issues and last with a cracked slide. Taurus called to say they could not repair it and replaced it last week with a brand new Spectrum; no charge to me. The other Spectrum has never required any repairs. No failures with my Spectrums, if using quality professional defense ammo. The Spectrum remains my pocket carry EDC, although I’m considering the Glock 42, since my other pistols are the Glock 19, Glock 43X and Glock 44.

  25. Steve on July 11, 2023 at 5:59 am

Mine was a total wreck. Bought it new . I was really starting to respect Taurus but no more! Extractor disappeared after just 2 or 3 rounds fired! Could have COST ME MY LIFE

  26. Guy Nall on July 11, 2023 at 6:04 am

Just bought one 2 days ago can’t get to range till Wednesday. Will see how it shoots I do love how it fits my pocket with a sticky holster just by size like it better than my ruger ec9 s

Rubber panel bits maybe rot off in time?

  28. gregburdick on July 11, 2023 at 6:07 am

I just got one and I lost the spring after it flew across the room. I’m happy I ordered a captured recoil spring from Galloway Precision..

  30. Gun Toting Black Guy. on July 11, 2023 at 6:11 am

I bought my wife that firearm for her concealed carry. She was carrying a Phoenix Arms 22 and I wanted her to have more firepower. She liked 22 because it was so small.

  31. Klutch 🗡️ on July 11, 2023 at 6:12 am

Looks perfect and very sexy to use as an ankle gun.

  32. Stevie Turner on July 11, 2023 at 6:13 am

Great vid. Daanng you are smart. Mine drills it.

  33. W.B. on July 11, 2023 at 6:16 am

My wife got one of the spectrums for her edc after years of carrying a heavy .38 special. I’ll have to say that I was very surprised in the handling, ergonomics and accuracy. She has proved very effective with this little gun. I’m impressed with Taurus on this one.

  34. Jimmie Murphy on July 11, 2023 at 6:17 am

I have this gun, bought it off a friend for $100. It is one of the ugliest guns I’ve ever had.. UGLY!!

  35. Dee EM on July 11, 2023 at 6:20 am

It’s so easy to conceal and it’s super fun to shoot

  36. Dutchman on July 11, 2023 at 6:21 am

Not many gun dealers has them but got one from a local gun range for $219 today. Wanted a pocket carry to relieve my hip from a S&W MP Shield 45 ACP. Now I can grab and go plus tuck in my shirts now. Heading to the range tomorrow.

What is the name of the tune by Jingle Punks??

  39. Robert Monette on July 11, 2023 at 6:22 am

Hello from Alaska I like the Taurus 380 for a general everyday carry because of loaded weight and size. I believe that with ball ammo penetration is adequate. Now I see this as close up contract 0 to 12 feet for most situations.

  40. Robert Hedrick on July 11, 2023 at 6:24 am

On sale now at Sportsman’s Warehouse for $189 minus $20 or so.

  41. M W on July 11, 2023 at 6:26 am

Strange thing: My Spectrum weighs instead of 10 ounces a hefty 11.7 ounces with the empty 6 cartridge magazine inserted.

  42. Pete Shadle on July 11, 2023 at 6:26 am

    Micro CC for the win!

  43. mark broad on July 11, 2023 at 6:26 am

Hmm zero malfunctions huh. At 9:13 seconds you pulled the trigger and no bang. Then pulled it again and it went off.

  44. Johnnie Stephen Addair on July 11, 2023 at 6:27 am

I love mine I carried it for about 5 years as a pocket gun and it shoots great

  45. Muad Dib on July 11, 2023 at 6:28 am

I like how you compared the Ruger with the Tuarus

  46. Jay Reed on July 11, 2023 at 6:29 am

    Awesome review.

  47. D K on July 11, 2023 at 6:30 am

    Rick,

What kind of watch are you wearing in this video? Thx!

  48. Joseph Huston on July 11, 2023 at 6:32 am

Why they don’t produce this in a 9mm is beyond me.

  49. Sara Welling on July 11, 2023 at 6:32 am

Micro 9s began appearing about this time; and some folks may have felt this was introduced too late. Quite the opposite. It’s a fantastic, reliable firearm, well made, well engineered, and more than sufficient for personal protection. It’s not my first choice, but it’s among the few I’d choose depending upon my available ammo choices.

  50. 22640cal on July 11, 2023 at 6:33 am

My Spectrum is a turd. The striker won’t reset and the second strike fails constantly . I’m hoping I just got a lemon and Taurus can do right
