Smith & Wesson's New M&P 2.0 Compact 9mm 3.6'' Pistol Review: Glock 19 Killer?

Smith & Wesson's New M&P 2.0 Compact 9mm 3.6'' Pistol Review: Glock 19 Killer?

I do some shooting with the new S&W M&P 2.0 Compact 9mm pistol with 3.6” barrel, test the velocity of a couple self defense loads with it and the 4” version, and go over the features of the pistol and what I think of it overall.

I love my mp 3.6! It’s a fun accurate and comfortable. Very solid!!

  2. stingygunner on July 10, 2023 at 5:22 am

Really the only thing wrong with this pistol is the silly auto-forward delete. Added complexity and took away a feature.

  3. talking rock on July 10, 2023 at 5:23 am

This pistol is a M&P Shield killer and I also own a Shield , 15 rounds and it definitely feels better in the hand , thanks Smith & Wesson

Good review. Velocity loss compared 2vthev4" is only about 20FPS. totally negligible. Just ordered this gun along with a streamlight-7. Should B at the rsnge withbitbin no more than 2 weeks. BE THERE OR BE NOWHERE!

Is it me or has the Shield Plus, Sig 365, Springfield Hellcat, and Ruger Max 9, made the Glock 19, 26 and this M&p 3.6” pretty much obsolete? Except for the ability to use full size mags in the 3.6, something which I will more than likely never do, there’s no advantage to these larger double stacks.

  6. Caleb Gorby on July 10, 2023 at 5:28 am

He controls the pistol it doesn’t control him

  7. MattChat56 on July 10, 2023 at 5:29 am

Just bought one today. Love it. Paid $500

  8. ZFlyingVLover on July 10, 2023 at 5:29 am

The bore axis on anything cept CZs are not low. CZ smoke all manufacturers in that category. They should make these optics ready too but I don’t thinks with truglo sights it would work

  9. Delta Whiskey on July 10, 2023 at 5:29 am

I own a half dozen handguns…SIGs…Glocks…CZ…and this 3.6 is by far my favorite carry gun.

  10. Rick V on July 10, 2023 at 5:32 am

How does it feel when you shoot. Is it a bit snappy like the 43x? Probably gonna go to the range this weekend. Best thing is to test it out myself before I get this or the 4" barrel

  11. John P on July 10, 2023 at 5:36 am

Would you recommend the M&P Compact 3.6 over the 4.0? Great video, liked the bullet velocity info–very helpful.

  12. Vikram Gupta on July 10, 2023 at 5:37 am

Well, I can’t believe it…took my new 2.0 /3.6 compact to range today and it was a TOTAL FAIL. Almost 100% failure to feed. Cleaned it before I went and used good quality ammo. Can’t believe a gun can come off a modern assembly line and fail this badly. Think I bought my last Smith.

  13. Rick Cole on July 10, 2023 at 5:37 am

You could talk a little slower. I know you want to get everything out and don’t want to miss nothing but some of your areas you’re covering was a little bit hard to understand. That is all

  14. Pop Culture Prepper on July 10, 2023 at 5:40 am

Just bought the 4, 4.25 and 5 inch models this week. Never thought I’d like a plastic fantastic more than Glock!

  15. Pray & Prepare !!! on July 10, 2023 at 5:42 am

Great Video Brother!!! Correct me if I’m wrong please, if you have to open the slide to push down on the sear disconnect to disassemble the gun, then what is the problem with checking the chamber to make sure it is empty before pulling the trigger to disassemble??? You have to open the slide anyway for either action!!!! Besides, having to pull the triggers reconfirms that you have to make sure gun is UNLOADED before you take it apart to or clean it……

  16. Carlos Rodriguez on July 10, 2023 at 5:42 am

    The shirt “full semi”?😂😆

  17. Chico Chico on July 10, 2023 at 5:43 am

Can the compact back straps fit the subcompact

  18. Scott Schmitt on July 10, 2023 at 5:44 am

    Cool

  19. Dr MitoFit on July 10, 2023 at 5:45 am

Only downside if you are a lefty is the too stiff right side slide release. Works as a slide stop, but the new left side stop retention mechanism combined with the inherent flex in the ambi lever means it’s not easy to fix to have fully functional controls.

M&P 2.0 Compact without Picatinny rail will be a much sexier.

  22. EspiOne and the things I do on July 10, 2023 at 5:50 am

I purchased a M&P 1.0 40C, about 5 years ago, I later converted it to 9mm (called 40C/9C), had issues with it in 40, but 9mm, runs great, since then I have left my GLOCK aside and move to M&P, I have too many M&Ps.

I purchased the 3.6 model about a year ago in 40S&W and later purchased a separate 9mm slide and an 9mm slide milled for optic. I am really loving this pistol, but I don’t give enough love to my other pistols. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL9DFnbUMCubRg3NvnBmnsuCW1j29-XhPm

  23. ArmedShepherd on July 10, 2023 at 5:50 am

The M&P 2.0 3.6” optics ready is what I carry on duty as a PPO; sometimes a G19. Love both.

  24. The Dutch Todd Gauck on July 10, 2023 at 5:51 am

I carried the 19 for years, I’m currently carrying the 3.6 and like it better.

  25. Yooper on July 10, 2023 at 5:53 am

I have the M&P 2.0 .40 compact with the integrated laser. It’s my favorite concealed carry gun. Still like my glocks though. Depends what I’m wearing.

  26. FilosofoCA on July 10, 2023 at 5:55 am

Cant wait to but the 3.6 40. Switching the G23 for this one as a daily carry.

  27. J2TRILL on July 10, 2023 at 5:57 am

I edc the g17 gen 4 MOS but went from that to the 43x to the g23 to the g30 and I shot the full size m&p and was surprised how accurate it was compared to other guns I purchased the 3.6 since it’s better to conceal and 15 +1 with the frame not big to annoy you and you can use the sleeve for a 17 round mag sheesh I don’t see why you would not buy the 3.6 now I edc the 3.6 and my g30 both soft shooters in my opinion and really accurate

  28. Hayden Edwards on July 10, 2023 at 5:57 am

Good night everyone Could someone let me know where I could get a holster for my smith and wesson m&p 2.0 3.6 please

  29. James Lindsay on July 10, 2023 at 5:59 am

Will the subcompact 3.6 slide fit on a compact 3.6 frame

  30. Delta on July 10, 2023 at 5:59 am

Have you seen the new OR versions with front slide serrations and optics ready? Sweet looking for sure!

  31. Rick M on July 10, 2023 at 5:59 am

Ive had this pistol for about 2 years now. I put a slide cut on it for a 507c , a magwell ,and now its my favorite carry pistol I have. Its awesome. Its the perfect size

  32. wayne howell on July 10, 2023 at 6:00 am

Damn, you can "Rock" that pistol! Make that steel sing – awesome.

  33. Kyle Dorsty on July 10, 2023 at 6:01 am

If only they didn’t have stiff slide releases on the right side

  34. do whiletrue on July 10, 2023 at 6:02 am

What a great review. Just ordered 2 of them, one for me and one for my wife.

  35. Deno on July 10, 2023 at 6:03 am

Hey Mr. guns and gear what do you think about the 40 caliber M&P 2.0 with a 3.6 inch barrel?

  36. Tim L on July 10, 2023 at 6:03 am

FYI – Some say the front serrations are for a ‘press check’.
Update: looks like about 20fps loss. To me, that isn’t really that noticeable under 15 yards. Thanks for the video & the comparison!

  37. Jamie Eisenhower on July 10, 2023 at 6:03 am

Smith and Wesson all the way

  40. EM_dolphinfan on July 10, 2023 at 6:05 am

Do you have any recommendations for a green laser light combination to fit flush with the 3.6?

  41. wreckagevic on July 10, 2023 at 6:09 am

Bought one from LGS recently and it was the LE edition with night sights, three mags and the hard case for $525.

  42. Caleb Gorby on July 10, 2023 at 6:10 am

The grip u have is amazing grip control

  43. scott Wallace on July 10, 2023 at 6:11 am

I rember when you struugled to find anything to add to this gun a few years ago , new every one and their grandparents have an M&P

  44. Mick Mackson on July 10, 2023 at 6:13 am

All those real shit are with *cashmain on Wickr* I just got a fucking glock 19x from him

  45. Dr MitoFit on July 10, 2023 at 6:13 am

Makes good sense for one pistol to serve both IWB carry and shoulder holster carry. Right now, the Shield Plus is my first choice for IWB carry, and the 3.6" or 4" 2.0 Compact or Glock 19 or Glock 45 for shoulder holster carry. My SA XD45 Mod 2 Compact with opposite side spare mag shoulder holster carry is nice too.

  46. Ivan Santa-Maria on July 10, 2023 at 6:14 am

It’s a great choice for Carrie for home defense but my question is would you consider the MP a shtf pistol???

  47. FtwRogue on July 10, 2023 at 6:15 am

G2/3c,sd9ve, the 3.6 , psa dagger , or a used glock for the money and just download the 1st mag don’t get a smaller gun a single stack can’t take extendos 🤣
