The one I am looking at comes with a flush fit mag along with a second extended. It seems like it has quite a bit of snap or recoil…again thanks for sharing.
My 809c came with a short mag and the fullsize mag with the spacer. Yours did not? I’d contact Taurus or your distributor. They are supposed to come with the short mag as well.

Just finished the whole video…clean your gun before you shoot it… I have never had 1 issue, not 1 jam and my sights are right on.

Looks like quite a bit of muzzel flip that would be normal for the short barrel especially with heavier bullets. Looks like its accurate. Yeah, could be certain ammo types, feed ramp, or mag lips causing jams or just needs to be worn in if its a new pistol. Thanks for sharing a range demo on it.
i hope mine comes with the 13rd mag but not holding my breath and they are no where to be found.
those jams may just be grip. I know with that crappy pf9 I had, it would jam if you let it recoil too much

Does a longer barrel in semiautomatics reduce the felt recoil more than a shorter barrel would?

Yep! I still have mine also! I switch back and forth between my PT111 G2 and my 809C. Never had any problems at all!
I’ll bet the dealer confiscated the 13 round magazine, being its the hardest to find one, even from Taurus. If you check with Taurus they will confirm the contents having 2 magazines with the kit. The 13 round magazine is well designed for CC.
I would bet that jammed load was Winchester. Win sucks in every Taurus I’ve ran it in. The red and white box is a curse. My S&W’s will run it but the drop in the hollow points is unreal even at a very very short distance. Had a consistent 11" drop out of my S&W 40 at around 10yrds. I won’t put that garbage in anything I own.

How odd, I’ve had this pistol for years as my EDC, I’ve ran easily over 5K rounds through it and only ever had it jam on crappy steel case ammo. It was between this and a Glock 19, and the safety of this one, the SA/DA trigger, the manual safety and decocker, made it a hands down winner for me personally.
I have it, is my everyday carry (because I’m in the military, so it is easier to get access to those 9mm). Never had any kind of issue, never ever. It fits perfectly in my hand and it is very discrete. Although, it seems like with Taurus you gotta be lucky. They apparently don’t have a serious program of manufacturing review, so sometimes you get a lame piece and your friend have that same model working perfectly. That’s really weird, but anyway…my guess is that they shall evolve from "decent" to "great" in the next 10 years.
