can i buy sssd m2 Gen 4 for my laptop

  2. Daisy Duck on April 5, 2023 at 3:18 am

Thanks ! One of the best tests ! But ! Real good tests will only be if we compare SSDs that give the maximum bandwith 4000 MB/s (Pcie 3) vs 8000 MB/s SSDs (Pcie4).

  3. Ak47 on April 5, 2023 at 3:23 am

    wait for pcie5

  4. Cheesy Wink on April 5, 2023 at 3:23 am

Best comparison video out there right now, you can see how much has changed in like a decade of consumer storage tech!

  5. Nut Screw Gamer on April 5, 2023 at 3:23 am

Based on the test at 1:55
I think more CPU power is needed to properly distinguish between all of them.
It’s wild how much tech changes in the last decade.

  6. xXOverEyeXx on April 5, 2023 at 3:24 am

SATA3 SSD would be more than enough for another 10 years in gaming

  8. Dylan Roemer on April 5, 2023 at 3:25 am

are you sure you are using a nvme m.2 and not a sata m.2 because pcie 3.0 should have been a little quicker i belive

  9. Marty L'Heureux on April 5, 2023 at 3:25 am

This is inaccurate to be honest. Samsung PM981 1TB is crap compared to the 970 Evo Plus.

  10. Donald Ducks on April 5, 2023 at 3:26 am

Just bought the 980pro for gen 4. Can’t wait now seeing these boot times. Ty. Does having games on the drive allow the game to render faster as well?

  11. 湯湯 on April 5, 2023 at 3:27 am

It’s about time to upgrade to PCIE 4.0

  12. J.D. on April 5, 2023 at 3:28 am

Sata 3 HDD?? Do they even reach Sata 3 max speeds? 😄

  13. Portman on April 5, 2023 at 3:33 am

Seems like the gen 4 is struggling to maintain speed.

  14. Shukri Ramle on April 5, 2023 at 3:34 am

    thank you bro

  15. Boblino on April 5, 2023 at 3:35 am

That is, for now, the 3.0 still compensates for the price, as a difference of 1 second in games is not an advantage at all.

  16. Poe Lemic on April 5, 2023 at 3:37 am

I would love to see you redo some of this with the newer PCIe 4.0 with 7 GB/s speeds. I think they’ll be faster than the prior PCIe 4.0’s with 5 GB/s. Like on my current one, I’d love to see the XPG 1TB GAMMIX S70 Blade tested.

  17. Sędziwój on April 5, 2023 at 3:39 am

This Red Dead Redemption 2 numbers are weird, do cpu be limitation or they have so bad wrote code so it not use even NVMe speed?

  18. Slickman Elite on April 5, 2023 at 3:40 am

Keep in mind this is testing a fast 3.0 drive vs a slow 4.0 drive. Newer 4.0 drives are 40% faster than the one shown here. Consequently the 4.0 drive shown here is 40% faster than the 3.0 drive so imagine another one of those same jumps in performance.

    Bullying the HDD lmao.

  20. HawkSea on April 5, 2023 at 3:42 am

    5.0 BABY!

  21. Dibyajyoti Dingal on April 5, 2023 at 3:43 am

I think my hdd is faster than all the YouTuber tests . I takes nearly 29 -30 seconds. But it takes another 6- 7 seconds to stabilize. Total time 35- 36 seconds

  22. jary lai on April 5, 2023 at 3:44 am

    nice

  23. DARK OLIVEIRA on April 5, 2023 at 3:46 am

Fala louco!

  24. Lio Murasaki on April 5, 2023 at 3:49 am

And what about data transfer? Why do everybody forget that’s a thing?

  25. Miroslav on April 5, 2023 at 3:50 am

For loading win and game no diference at all between pcie 3vs4, max. some 0,5/1s. This test is weird…

  26. Konkasor on April 5, 2023 at 3:50 am

    Mar 9, 2021 Win 10

So from these results I expect pcie5 gonna do half the time of pcie4 ….3 seconds!

  36. Foxy-CAM TV on April 5, 2023 at 4:06 am

Wow….I thought games load equally among all SSDs but clearly not the case.

  37. Dennis V B on April 5, 2023 at 4:06 am

  40. Duck on April 5, 2023 at 4:10 am

At 1:15 8.3 vs 14.1 is MASSIVE. Once AAA devs get their shit together for the latest hardware we can see some big changes coming.

upgrade certainly worth the money spent
