S&W needs to make this like the LCP max with the double stack.They did it with the shield plus what’s stopping them with this?
If they ever make a double stack Bodyguard, I’d buy it in a heartbeat.

Idk if I was going to get any of these things I liked the diamondback db380. The Gen 4 looks so cool! But also there’s thr glock 42. I’m a bigger guy so the 42 makes more sense if I do pocket carry. But for me you only get 1 or 2 more rounds than a j frame but the j frame offers several advantages to this gun including no slide getting pushed our of battery,,no shirt of bad guy getting sucked in and jamming it, no way to fail to feed or eject, it’s just faster to get out and shoot. And the .38 +p is a bit more potent and heavy to boot. If I got this it’s my last ditch gun tbh. Maybe that db380 in a deep concealment in one of my jacket pockets or something. I already carry 2 j frames anyways.

Good video. My primary carry is also a .380, in my case a Springfield Armory 911. Similar philosophy except mine’s single action only and I gotta remember to sweep off that thumb safety. Mine also has a little more heft so it’s a little more pleasant to shoot, and I am quite accurate with it. The tritium sights are nice, too. It’s a shame SA stopped making them.
My carry load is Federal 99 grain HSTs. They’re not known for great penetration but they’re reliable expanders and deliver more energy than most other .380 factory defensive loads; they got Paul Harrell’s nod of approval in the meat target test for a .380, which makes them good enough for me.
Have the first gen bodyguard, my edc… never had an issue..

Got the 1st gen bodyguard with extended clip…Still only holds 6 but allows for a 5 finger grip for better control. Built in laser is ultra nice. Battery life is great.
Good video, I bought this gun five years ago and only fired it once put it in the safe, and never looked at it again. I thought the trigger was terrible, I did a trigger upgrade by Shepherd Tactical and now it’s my EDC love the gun. It shoots the way it should have when it was released by S&W. Check out the upgrade you won’t be disappointed.

I wouldnt use certain hollow points in .380…..
TT: Excellent video….as always. I own the first generation S&W BodyGuard .380 ACP with the built-in Insight red laser. I bought it new in 2013; it’s hard to believe I have owned it almost 10 years now! It’s a GREAT little deep carry pistol. I bought 4 spare mags for a total of 6 mags. It is in my EDC rotation and pressed into service depending on where I go and what I am wearing, which is cargo shorts and tee shirts being I live in hot Florida. I like the second generation as well. Hey, what’s your take on the EZ pistols, especially the new EZ Equalizer and the M&P Metal? I really like them all! You can’t beat two things: a sore dick and a S&W pistol. Right? 😂 Take care! Patrick
Great video. One point you make that is right on. That is if you want to be a great auto pistol shooter master the revolver. Revolvers help so much develop trigger control that translates to other firearms. Thanks
My wife unfortunately had to use this last year including our deductible with the USCCA. She really isn’t a gun girl whatsoever but I decided to buy this or the g42 or the J frame bodyguard but when me and my wife went to cabalas she decided this because she could not stand the fact that the revolver had no safety. Long story short a guy tried to rob her in the Harrisburg area and she had and still has this same gun, but somehow the guy managed to get on top of her. So during our talk with our lawyer we asked how did he manage to get on top of you if you had your gun and he was threatening you and he wasn’t behind you. she said she was shooting and it didn’t shoot and she couldn’t find the safety but when she did that guy was dead before he could say Im sorry. 6+1. 3 in his stomach 1 pieced and stood in his heart and the other 3 was misses (Reported from D.A In court) she was also justified before an indictment. It was on pix11 news ! The guy was dead on scene. anyhow YES a 380 can and will certainly stop an attacker esp with hornady rubber hollow tips cause thats what she had. Ever since then that girl fell in love with S&W lol. She goes to our range (CP tactical solutions) At least 2 times out the week every week. Same gun nothing else. Its cool though, as long as she gets good with it which she is very very very good with it now. She can hit 10 yards out consecutively and probably can kill me before I could even draw my ar if we was in a duel.We call her the bodyguard gunslinger at our range 😂😂😂. She walks around with like 6 clips with the 1 clip in the gun, and I’m trying to tell her it defeats the purpose of having a concealed weapon if she has that much ammo on her and to just get a bigger gun that holds more ammo but she insist’s that i stfu and she’s okay with the way her gun is set up and the gun she has lol. Anyhow….. Practice makes perfect! Peace YT!

I have this gun along with many others as a lot of us do. My take, it’s good, but a touch heavy as pocket pistols go. No problem with dao, and no one would find this safety apply by accident. On is hard, off is perfect.
I reccomend Magguts springs which allow 1 extra round in the same flat magazine. The lcp max 10 rounder is tempting but, in my case, pocket carry, I’m not a fan of sao cocked with no external safety.
In the winter months I love the taurus gx4 toro with holosun, summer honestly many times it’s the tiny Kei tec P32 32caliber dao. Anyway, get that Magguts spring! 8 rounds is a comfortable number IMO

I have the original Sigma .380 – it is a pot metal piece of garbage. But I have not shot it enough to break anything.
I carried a bodyguard with the integrated green laser, then the original LCP, and now the LCPMax in the Summer. They all fit in with cargo shorts very well.
