Solve a literal equation by factoring out your variable, mx + nx = P; for x
Solve a literal equation by factoring out your variable, mx + nx = P; for x
👉 Learn how to solve literal equations involving formulas. A literal equation is an equation where the unknown values are represented by variables. To solve a literal equation means to make one of the variables the subject of the formula. To do this, we use the simple algebraic process of undoing all the algebraic operations related to the variable we want to solve for, thereby isolating the variable.

So I have a similar equation where I have to factor out the x. Equation: z=x+y/mx. The only problem is that apparently you end up with x=y/zm-1, but where did the -1 come from? Please help
