And of course now we see that FN is releasing the 509 in a Flat Dark earth version with night sights and 3 mags.

I’m a big FN fan as well from military use and civilian. I have had excellent performance from my FNS40, FNX40, FNX45 and FNS9c. The issues I had with my FNP40 USG was taken care of my FN. FN striker trigger are very deceiving out of the box. They feel like they drag, but they break in very nice. I love the actual mechanics of the FN trigger over Glock and M&P. I agree with you on the mag catch. I do not like that design. I will check out the FN509 though, but not sure it will offer anything over my current M&P M2.0 or P320 compact.

Thanks for the video. I’m a huge FN fan. Love the Fns & Fnx line. I will be jumping on a 509 soon!

Finally got some hands on with a 509 at the Allen Cabela’s. Ergonomics are nice, feels very solidly put together, but the trigger left me cold. Very stiff and gritty, and the break was a bit mushy, especially compared to the SIG P320. I might get one, but it’s not a priority. Still looking to get hands on with a CZ P-10C and a Beretta APX.

The FNH plant is located in Columbia, South Carolina, only 35 minutes south from my house. Owning a FNS-9 mm, I went one day to visit the facility for a guided tour. I was met at the front entrance by two burly guards who told me no tours to the public, have a nice day.

"FN America, LLC announced the launch of a summer consumer promotion, offering THREE FREE MAGAZINES to customers who purchase any new FN 509 striker-fired pistol BETWEEN JULY 1 AND AUGUST 31, 2017." Just thought y’all would like to know; if you’re interested in this pistol.

Drive that mag home like a boss and problem solved!

I’ve been waiting for a striker 45 from FN for forever. I have the fnx 45 but really want a striker gun for the consistent trigger pull. Their fns 9 and 40 take the same mags as the striker guns. If they made a 5 inch 45 that takes the 15 round fnx mags that’d be my idea of a perfect gun.

    Mag release button is terrible…

  16. Paul H on July 30, 2022 at 8:42 pm

if fn wanted to give the g19 a run for its money they would only chop the grip down and keep the slide length the same…too bad that’s too much like right. It will most likely be the same size as the fns9c…

I’m hopeful that we see more of the guns that didn’t make it. Very cool
