The gunman who killed 19 children and two adults during the Texas school shooting last week used a semi-automatic weapon manufactured by Daniel Defense. CBS News’ Caitlin Huey-Burns sits down with Ryan Busse of Giffords, which advocates for gun control, to discuss the controversy surrounding the company and the problems he believes plague the gun industry as a whole.

I’m a BCM guy myself, but all this talk about Daniel Defense lately, is making me have second thoughts about it. I may consider one of their rifles in a near future.
Daniel defense does not have aggressive marketing at all. What a ridiculous statement.
A child holding a firearm infers "white christian nationalism?" This is all hogwash. I wasn’t much older than a toddler when I was taught to handle and respect firearms. Most of the people who I know that are gun enthusiasts are only concerned with quality, reliability and features of a firearm. This is unadulterated nonsense. To make all of these unfounded accusations about the NRA is baseless, false and irresponsible.
I want a Daniel Defense DDM4V7 now, just because I can.
The manufacturer of the rifle means nothing. Where is the investigation on what happened in the kids life that turned him into a murderer. When a plane crashes it triggers a full scale investigation to determine the cause down to every nut and bolt. When someone murders innocent people they don’t even know everything except the murderer is blamed.
Did anyone sue Ford over the Waukesha Christmas parade massecre?
So someone use a car for a crime. CBS will blame the car manufacturer too?

On another US culture note: It took 19 police from at least 3 jurisdictions to keep the shooter safe from agonized parents in Uvalde. US policing is broken. They used handcuffs and threats of arrest on the parents.

Instead of bashing Daniel defense why not ask the real questions like where did this 18 year old get like 10 grand worth of equipment and guns who gave it to him, how did he get it etc? Cause when I was 18 I wasn’t buying anything over $500

Firearms have been a part of the fabric of this great nation of ours since its inception ,as well as moral values and community. How about an investigation into how the school system, the local authorities,the community health organization, the local church and community, the breakdown of his family that led to that boy making a decision that cost everybody? Indifference and apathy toward our fellow man caused this tragedy that could have been avoided by someone who cared enough to reach out to a hurting boy who wasnāt taught how to be a man. But, maybe thatās too old fashionedā¦
