I bought that exact pistol about 4 months ago. How do I figure out when it was made?

  11. Silver Beard181 on July 26, 2022 at 7:46 pm

Thanks for posting. I checked my 380 EZ and it’s not on the recall list. Whew!

  12. Mr. Robert on July 26, 2022 at 7:48 pm

Excellent video. I’ve been calling S&W Customer service for 1 1/2 months trying to get a label send for shipping. Called again this morning and once again, was told its on its way. I also have a M&P 15 22 that is under safety recall. Still waiting for the promised gauge to check the bolt. Sad part is, I decided to give M&P a try after years of being a loyal Ruger customer. Big mistake.

  13. Albert Snow on July 26, 2022 at 7:50 pm

I’ve seen 1911s do that! Very exciting! Does that grip safety help? It looks like it would better than the standard grip safety.

  14. kerman725 n5 on July 26, 2022 at 7:54 pm

  20. Morretti Games on July 26, 2022 at 8:04 pm

Just checked mine and it was made in November 2020. Just outside of the date range so I’m good to go! Thank you for video, would’ve never known.

  21. A D on July 26, 2022 at 8:05 pm

I sent mine in, I have to call s&w BC they ripped my talon grips off, stuck it to itself and some ripped paper and left my damaged grips in the process back to ship messed up in the box when the recall didn’t have anything to do with grips. Smh, im very annoyed with them and wonder what they’re gunna do to fix this

  22. Puck roger on July 26, 2022 at 8:05 pm

Thank God I was two days before it. Thank you so much for the information I hope Smith & Wesson contacted the people affected

  23. marklower007 on July 26, 2022 at 8:06 pm

Glad I got a regular 2.0 PC shield instead.

  24. AH! Why is there poop in your mouth on July 26, 2022 at 8:06 pm

    That’s a bad safety defect.
I might as well send it to Ruger instead of S&W at that point. 😛

  25. clee89 on July 26, 2022 at 8:07 pm

Ugh. thanks for the video. Found out I got one of the affected ones. It wasn’t the Performance Center ones and it is in 380. I just requested a return label and we’ll see how this process goes for me.

  26. MSM on July 26, 2022 at 8:10 pm

Right out of the box my ez380 WILL NOT accept a fully loaded mag. 7 or fewer rounds works fine. Chambering a round and keeping the mag at 7 works fine. But will a full 8 rounds it simply will not go in unless i exert enough force on the mag to literally grind into the top round. And when i do jam it in, the slide will not slide backwards without chipping the top round. Smith and wesson’s suggestion? Buy new mags. Gee, thanks. Never going to buy a smith again. Glock, ruger, and walther are all much better.

  27. MityQuinnn on July 26, 2022 at 8:11 pm

Thank you! I bought one for my daughter, and it was manufactured on 3/16/20. Will contact S&W.

  30. Bea, Honey dog and me on July 26, 2022 at 8:13 pm

Thanks for this video. I just went and looked up the manufacturing date on mine and that’s when I saw that the dates of the affected EZ’s are from March 1st, (not 31st) of 2020. I just wanted to correct that cause I believe you said March 31, 2020 – October 31, 2020. It also says that "not all" guns manufactured during those dates are affected, further adding to the confusion. Luckily and thankfully, I’m in the clear with mine.

  31. Jesse alltheabovegeek on July 26, 2022 at 8:13 pm

How do you identify the manufacturer date on these firearms ?

  32. Wheres Bryan on July 26, 2022 at 8:14 pm

this crappy M&P .380 got my $, don’t be fooled by these manufactures big names.. things are only going to get worse with quality.

  33. JR 303 on July 26, 2022 at 8:15 pm

Idk these were hammer fire, when I looked at them I was told they were stricker fire and from the outside it looks like a stricker fire.

    Thank you sir

  37. Tom Wright on July 26, 2022 at 8:22 pm

Just found out mine is on the recall list. Waiting on the shipping label. I really like the firearm, but I don’t think my slide is any easier than other 9mm slides. It could be just me though.

  38. SouljaSlim II on July 26, 2022 at 8:23 pm

thanks, I have a 380 performance that has to go back 🤦🏾‍♂️

  39. Bobbyo60 on July 26, 2022 at 8:25 pm

The recall is for any ez weapons made between May 1st. and October 31st., 2020. So far they have only found 2 hammers defective. Your manufacture date is on the side label of the box the weapon came in. Hope this helps.

  40. Ernest Walden on July 26, 2022 at 8:25 pm

First time I ever heard of this. I baught an EZ shield about 2 months ago. Thanks for important information

  42. Google Google on July 26, 2022 at 8:26 pm

I just bought this gun 4days ago should I take it back

  43. mario the great on July 26, 2022 at 8:31 pm

I have a sig M18 and it works flawlessly

  44. Wayne E. on July 26, 2022 at 8:32 pm

I’ve already sent mine back as well as my dad’s. They replaced everything on the gun according to the paperwork. Even the sights which I don’t understand. They replaced the slide, barrel, hammer, trigger assembly, frame, and a couple other things. It’s a different gun now. It shoots like shit compared to what it did before. It shoots way low and inconsistent groups. That sucks because I love this gun. It now shoots worse than anything I own. Not happy that my gun is worse than a $250 gun. Smith and Wesson won’t do anything about it either. Never again will I buy their stuff.

  45. Engine2Truck6 on July 26, 2022 at 8:33 pm

    Great video.

  46. Edwin Hernandez on July 26, 2022 at 8:34 pm

    Stop using cheap overseas parts.

  47. Richard Lacker on July 26, 2022 at 8:35 pm

Due to old age and failing health I recently bought one of these guns, I
like it a lot. However when it arrived in came without any safety.
Does anyone know if it is safe to carry with a round in the chamber with
only the grip safety? I have an inside the waistband holster that is
very tight. By the way this gun costs $1000.00 + in Israel, so you see how lucky you are to live in the USA.
This is the only site I found that mentions the recall issue. Very good video.

  48. MikeRuiz XD on July 26, 2022 at 8:35 pm
