In love with my M&P 2.0 !
very nice pistol.
looking to buy my first handgun! saw this baby in the store and thought i’d do some research before i made a decision. feel free to comment if you have anything to add or share!
Weird… After a couple thousand rounds I’ve only had 1 jam. But I’ve shot with only the Winchester rounds because you can find bargain boxes of 500 rounds for a decent price. I only bought cheap rounds when it was all I could find during the shortage, but haven’t had to use any yet.
Am grateful got this from the name above ☝️☝️☝️ some days ago am really happy
Issue is with the weight of the slide of the 5 inch model. I had a cycling issue with range ammo, lighter spring should fix that problem.
I Use Freedom Munitions Ammo A Lot In My M&P M2.0 And I Have Had Only 2 Problems (One Is Not Really A Problem For Me) With Freedom Munitions 9mm Ammunition.
The 2 Problems That I Have Had With Freedom Munitions 9mm Ammunition Are:
1) The Slide Not Locking Back After I Fire The Last Round (This Is Not Really A Problem To Me, But It Maybe A Problem To Other People).
2) The Bullet Of Freedom Munitions Match Ammo Separating From The Casing Without Firing The Gun Or Using Tools (I Have Not Had This Problem With Freedom Munitions HP Defensive Ammunition, Winchester, Remington, Or Hornady).
I Use 115 Grain, 124 Grain, And 147 Grain Freedom Munitions 9mm Ammo In My Gun A Lot.
Have been looking around at a few different 9mms and this one kinda stood out to me. Got a chance to hold one and feel one in person for the first time and instantly bought it. Tomorrow I’m taking it shooting for the first time and I’m really looking forward to it based off the reviews im seeing on it.
I’m not trying to disagree with you or be an a****** but I have to say that this review about it’s reliability is actually b*******.
I have this exact same gun and shot everything from heavy to light grain ammo from brass to steel to various types of cartridges that are available. Almost subsonic ammo to +P+ ammo and not once during my 7,500 rounds did I ever have a hiccup or malfunction or failure to feed or extract or eject etc. I bought the gun for $425 and I sold it for $450 after 7,500 rounds to this very day my brother who uses it still has had no failures with the gun.
It even has the same accuracy as the first day I bought it. My only complaint with the gun is the slide stop prematurely wearing out use it as a slide release.
Whao great thanks to *expansion2 on wickr* who landed my first plug gun🔫 glock19 guys go get yours🤩
Whoa 😲 great thanks *to the name above ⬆️⬆️⬆️🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼🔼who make me got my glock19 I order three days ago
Probably why it doesn’t like cheap ammo, or lower loads. Spring tension must be high to help with recoil maybe, I’m just spit balling here. I have the 2.0 Compact in 9mm and love it but I do have to say, the trigger ain’t the best there is for sure.
Got model 13045 black with factory tritiums and no safety.
Have owned alot of striker pistols in my time.
But never a S&W.
Have seen em , held em, dry fired em.
Balance on em to me was so so.
1st 5 inch long slide 2.0 I seen around clarksville/ FTCKY ever.
Knew they were being made just not around here to buy.
Held it .
Holy schit…
It felt right, didnt hesitate to buy it.
Trigger had some grit in it on take up.
About 5.75 pd dry
5.25 lubed on the gauge at the house
Typical of alot of striker pistols grit on take up.
Grit assembled
No grit diassembled while squeexing trigger is the indicator it is the safety plunger and sharks fin interfacing and some of the triggger bar along the frame possibly.
Polish time…..
google fu is your friend…
99% of the time it is the firing pin safety plunger and sharks fin interaction
Polish job on key components.
0 grit and 3.75 pds.
Reset improved also to little more pronounced.
Put the large back strap on it, perfect..
Palm swell 👍👍👍 and more purchase.
Fixed that back strap gap issue with them you can see in H.O,s
vid in curve of beaver tail.
with a lighter carefully heating inside of backstrap up and gave it a little reverse memory with the curve of the main thumb bone and it is seemless now in the beaver tail curve.
115 gr blazer of all things shoots about 3 to 4" groups 17 shots at 21 yards
Dead on hold top of blade.
Same with 115 american gunner.
Havent tried others brands yet or shooting it off a bag.
0 malfunctions with about 650 rds blazer thru it and 100 american gunner hp,s so far.
The ergo,s on this pistol are perfect for me, the balance is primo to me.
Great weak hand purchase area on the grip to get into the pistol at the meat thumb pad and rest of weak hand interface.
Alot of striker pistol lack in purchase area on the grip for weak hand contact.
YMMV based on hand size and pistol used.
But proper grip is very important with striker pistols.
IMO grip is at least 60% of pistol marksmanship
If you are having to regain grip between shots or making little tweaks.
Your muscle memory and grip needs improvement or you have a pistol that doesn’t " fit "
Most times it is a user grip issue
With the large back strap the palm swell is perfect for me also.
I spent 25 yrs in the infantry.
Have shot alot of countries pistols.
Have owned alot of pistols.
I dont think I will sell this m&p 9 2.0 5"
I have always gone back to glocks after trying other makes.
And I have owned alot of Glocks since 1988 .
Sorry Gaston.
Probably aint gonna buy another Glock now.
If I do it will probably be a 48 or 43x with sheild mags and sheild mag release for a summer carry gun.
The 2.0 M&P9 longside aint going nowhere and is the BFP carry gun for me, which actually in a sticky holster in a blue jean back pocket with t shirt over it is easy to conceal.
Or in stickey holster inside a internal jacket pocket left side and butt facing out.
Easy to conceal.
Your average schmuck aint got a clue or has any idea what slight printing looks like anyways. .
If people have issues shooting striker fired pistols with the classic left and low, right and high, low and center groups or 1/3rd of your shots out of a group are doing these things
Ask for some help.
Have a experienced shooter watch you shoot.
99% of the time IMO it is grip issues
Aint no shame seeking help
Teach coach mentor and making people better shooters is a good thing
Seeing a shooter with issues and helping em out and seeing a shooter improve drasticslly is a good thing
The look on their face is good also when they can hit waaaay better.
Im a social butterfly and will approach people in a tactful helpful way and see if they are willing to be helped.
If they are great.
If they aint fine.
Alot of you guys might be very surprised how much some one can improve from 15 20 mins of giving em some pointers.
Something as simple of telling em about front sight bounce from bad grip and then eliminating it from good grip, trigger finger placement and follow thru
And having them see the differences from dry fire before and after will open alot of peoples eyes.
Alot dont even realize it until you break it down to them and they actually see it while dry firing.
Alot of shooters with issues rarely if ever dry fire practice also.
I could go on and on and on.
You guys get the point.
Help struggling shooters out if they are receptive to it.
Teach coach mentor aint a bad thing.
Old 11B long ago in a galaxy far away
83 to 08….
👍👍👍
I went through about 10 different brands before I settled on 2 different brands of ammo Fiocchi and S&B . I have just started reloading 9mm for it and will be testing it later tomorrow. I do know the M&P 2.0 likes hotter loads than wolf and freedom munitions put out.
I know this is an older video but im gonna comment anyway since i also had some feeding problems with this gun in the beginning. I polished the ramp (took 5 minutes) and since it has run all ammo i tried without any problems 🙂 im no expert but this i something i have had to do on privious pistols too and some of those was expensive models. Im only talking about polishing (not sanding) BTW
You know when your trigger and muzzle discipline is on-point, when your anxiety goes up when you can see the inside of the barrel of this handgun in display in this video. Lolol😅
So right about cheap ammo! Hell, I even practice with a blowback .177 replica just to ensure I can shoot every day (unfortunately can’t shoot live ammo at my home like you, not that I could afford that every day lol).
wow… $400 three years ago. Not no mo…
120000 rounds and still going strong
Have one myself and love it. ❤🌹🕊💪😁👽🙏 Sincerely, Jacqueline Trimm Syme Hamblen Morrison family bloodline.
Deal with immaglockdealer he sells different types of guns
Apparently these are overstocked and you can get them for like 350 right now
I sent my M&P back because of issues with not feeding and Smith & Wesson fixed it. Feeds great now with cheap, reloads and steel.
Is the trigger swappable with the shield plus trigger i love the full size but love the flat face trigger of the plus
Comment for the algorithm: You’re really cool, Chris! Stay that way! So is La Rae! Uncool people suck! Screw youtube! Google is *UNCOOL!*
Don’t use cheap ammo and install the Apex trigger, then you’ll have a great gun.
He is located on wickr app
M&P springs are super stiff. This was a problem for me on my M&P 9c. My gunsmith told me to give it 5-800 rounds. He was right. When the round count passed 600 rounds, the fte issues abated.
The fact that you go into how well it shoots cheaper and more expensive ammo is a sign of a thorough review. Good review!
I just bought one and can’t wait to try it out. I was torn between this and a Glock 19 so I hope I made the right choice.
Would you buy the 2.0 over the Canik TP9SFX?
I love my 2.0. Picked it up for $380 before tax and shipping to an FFL and it’s well worth more than that by far.
Recently bought one of these… it ejects the shells straight up into the air and the hot brass lands right on your arms. WTF??????? There’s hopefully a fix for this or I’m selling it immediately.
S&W needs to improve the slide release on the M&P 2.0. Extremely stiff. I had to do a slight modification in order to improve the performance of the release.
Minor surgery = Greater Efficiency
Got mine today. Love the grip and smooth feel when firing.
Want to get the M&P in the 3.6” barrel.
The M&P 2.0 Compact 40s&w shoots better than the G23. It’s less snappy and I’m a Glock lover.
CASHMAIN
Thinking of getting this or a glock 17 for my first gun
Got one. One of the Top handguns in my opinion. This is my defense. Own a Glock 19 gen 5 as well. My backup weapon.
See no reason to replace my 1.0. Changed the trigger and put a 2.0 back strap on it. I also bought a performance center slide and barrel so my 5" has two versions, one with iron sights and one with the CORE with a red dot.
I love the original. Also have the original 45 and the original shield 9mm.
I believe in "don’t fix what ain’t broke"
I bought this a couple of months ago. Had worked great so far but I just got some American Steel 9mm ammo from Freedom Munitions. I’m gonna try it out tomorrow. Has anyone else had experience using this ammo in an m&p m2.0?
Lol why do you sound wimpy on this video
I have never had any issues with mine.
Funny your video shows a misfeed and it fails to eject the round in time when I have put almost 200 rounds out of my m&p9 m2 with the 4.5 barrel and I’ve had no issues what so ever. Buddy with a kanik 9 and a glock 17 9 said it was just as good if not better with the 124 grain browning ammo
THE SLIDE LOCK WORK TO RELEASE OR NOT??
I can’t to get mine
As a new shooter my instructor let me use this gun and I loved it. I was most concerned about recoil as I have weak hands/wrists but this gun felt perfect in my hands and the recoil was minor. I’m also left handed and again this gun felt perfect. As a new shooter and as a woman this gun was the perfect choice for me.
This was the only pistol in the the display case in the entire store when I went to my local dealer.I bought it on the clerks recommendation and when I drove up into the local hills outside of town to try it I was blown away on how accurate it was as was my shooting buddy. I haven’t done a lot of shooting and it has been a couple years since I did any plinking. I don’t consider myself even an intermediate shooter but this pistol made me look good. It came out of the box dead accurate and is a joy to use.
So I can get gun without no issues at my doorstep,i really appreciate the name above ⬆️ ⬆️⬆️ he proved me one gun..
Just bought this today. I will tell you the slid release on the right side REALLY helps with me being left handed
I’ve got the 4 inch compact version of this gun, and it was a game changer for me. Coming from many years of being a Glock/SIG Sauer/H&K/Beretta shooter, I can honestly say that head to head with its competitors, the M2.0 M&P offers a LOT of gun for the money.
If for some reason, I had to choose only one handgun to keep, this would be my pick. I can’t say enough good things about this pistol.
