Smith & Wesson M&P Shield Recall: How to Inspect Your Pistol

S&W has issued a safety recall on this pistol. A quick look at how to inspect your Smith and Wesson M&P Shield.

ENSURE THE FIREARM IS UNLOADED; ENSURE THAT THE MUZZLE IS POINTED IN A SAFE DIRECTION; THE SLIDE IS LOCKED BACK; AND THE MANUAL SAFETY IS ENGAGED. (I left this part out of the video.)

    Supposedly, it was limited to a couple of weeks of recent production.

    You didn’t follow their instructions. They said to lock the slide back and engage the manuel safety. Then you should check if the little tab comes back out automatically.

    Thank You for posting this. Luckily my Shield and the Shield’s of all the other people I know are fine. However EVERYONE that owns the Shield should check theirs.
