Yes, that gap with the grip would annoy me too. I think I’d swap out the Magpul grip with a Hogue 15° grip. First I have to decide if I want to get this pistol or one from Tippmann Arms.

As of tomorrow, Thursday April 8, 2021: The Justice Department will be given 60 days to issue a separate rule on stabilizing braces, which can turn a pistol into a more accurate weapon that fires like a rifle. Sixty days will also be provided for the DOJ to develop model "red flag" legislation that would allow friends and family members to identify an individual as a potential danger, thereby temporarily preventing the person from accessing a firearm.

Is it compatible with a 50 or a 100 drum mag?

  4. Adam Baker on April 13, 2022 at 6:00 pm

Every gun should come with two magazines

  5. Kursacé on April 13, 2022 at 6:03 pm

Just ran into this gun and this review is amazing, ironically you posted this the same day I found the gun so I subscribed immediately, keep it up!

  6. MustangNthusiast on April 13, 2022 at 6:03 pm

    Is it new york legal?

  7. Mike Smith on April 13, 2022 at 6:04 pm

can you get a silencer for it??

  8. jay Andre on April 13, 2022 at 6:05 pm

The reason that Magpul beavertail pistol grip has a gap at the beavertail is, that lower is NOT Milspec!!! No beavertail pistol grip will fit that lower!! That’s the immediate thing I wanted to change when I purchased mine 2 weeks ago. Mine was also shipped without an extractor, spring, and a plunger!! The 1st time I ”tried” to fire it, the key word is ”tried”, it was double & triple feeding, failing to eject, and leaving the spent shell casing in the chamber. I was getting very frustrated. I thought it was because I didn’t clean it b4 I shot it. Which I NEVER DO WITH ANY NEW WEAPON!!! My thinking is, a customer who pays a shit load of money for a weapon, shouldn’t have to clean it 1st, b4 using it!! Granted that M&P 15-22 pistol is NOT expensive at all, because it’s all plastic!!!! I paid $500 for mine at my local gun shop. Believe me, there isn’t $500 worth of materials in that gun!! The most expensive item on it is that SBA tactical brace!!! And, now, you can them for under a $100 anywhere!!! Even the charging handle is plastic!! The Aluminum aftermarket ones are out of stock, on every site I searched. Just a note: My gunsmith told me that S&W is having trouble with those pistols being shipped without those parts. So, buyer beware!!!

I love mine. Only ‘complaint’ is it does have ejection issues, tends to not clear the case before it’s on the next round. Of course, with .22LR that’s to be expected some. But the thing is dead-nuts accurate, literally a 5 round group to adjust the red dot and she’s solid. Very impressed. The kids are scared of the 5.56, this is a breeze for them. Love it. It will not cycle subsonic rounds, period. Again, that’s expected. This is a solid gun, more than happy with it

  10. expo on April 13, 2022 at 6:05 pm

50,000 rounds now! I’ve had the AR 15-22 rifle for over 5 years and the only ammo that won’t function in semi-auto is the shotshells and subsonics. (You have to manually charge it each time with those.) The bolt does need to be cleaned every 500 rds. or so to keep reliability up. The only thing that wore out was the mag lips got a groove in it from the rim cases constantly hitting it on the way up. S&W replaced a few of them initially but rightfully, said working parts will wear out eventually. They may have started using harder plastic since the wear is not as evident on the newer mags.
The Super review of a super gun, Alan.

I wonder if anyone tries this with FRT-15 (rarebreedtriggers)? or put this S&W 15-22 upper to a normal AR15 lower receiver with FRT-15?

  12. Kenneth Schuessler on April 13, 2022 at 6:07 pm

    Accurate enough for squirrels?

  13. Todd Schultz and Kaysar on April 13, 2022 at 6:09 pm

  16. poisonousnut on April 13, 2022 at 6:17 pm

question? i have the regular 15-22 rifle. would the barrel for this just fit onto mine? i figure the entire upper would just snap on like the current one

  17. Justin Lorenz on April 13, 2022 at 6:18 pm

    69th comment..
    Nice

  18. Malte Chr on April 13, 2022 at 6:20 pm

The american gun laws are so weird.. A pistol?! So, if one cut the barrels to under 16 inches on an M134 Minigun, would it be a pistol? It has no shoulder stock..

  19. Armando Arriaga on April 13, 2022 at 6:20 pm

Great review, made me re-consider it as a feasible training gun

  20. Dave Weed on April 13, 2022 at 6:21 pm

I just really don’t like the AR pistol versions much either in 5.56 or .22.

    That is just my opinion.

  21. Ro Gal on April 13, 2022 at 6:23 pm

Nice review! I got one of these for my wife and she likes it a lot. Because of the same manual of arms, I was able to convince her (recoil sensitive) to shoot my AR15. Turns out she successfully fired two mags through my AR15 with ease!

  22. pon nice on April 13, 2022 at 6:27 pm

Where can I order one from

  23. Shadow Knight on April 13, 2022 at 6:27 pm

  26. James Douglas on April 13, 2022 at 6:29 pm

Can any of you gun lovers tell me where i could possibly find an original slide for a 1396 s/42 lugar? Appreciate it

  29. Jim Oyler on April 13, 2022 at 6:34 pm

Does it have a last round bolt hold open feature?

  30. Joe Morgan on April 13, 2022 at 6:34 pm

very cool id love to have one at some point but i love my little marlin 795 too much and no gas system to clean

  31. Stephen Gill on April 13, 2022 at 6:34 pm

Nice gun but if you have long arms the stock is going to be to short. Also the extractor is poor quality. I had a lot of stove piped rounds until I upgraded the extractor with a Volquartsen for $15. Problem solved.

  32. Gun Monkey on April 13, 2022 at 6:36 pm

I have one and it runs beautifully. FYI, I have had zero problems with CCI Standard, Subs, and Suppressor ammo. I have not shot it unsuppressed with that ammo but why would you use that ammo without a suppressor?

  33. oldtwins na on April 13, 2022 at 6:37 pm

Do these have the same quality control issues as the rifle version where you need to bend in the extractor to prevent hung up shells?

  34. Stephen Szabo on April 13, 2022 at 6:38 pm

Can you remove the barrel or handguard…for upgrade?

  35. Kevin Stachovak on April 13, 2022 at 6:42 pm

I am saving for one of these bad boys. I’m thinking this would be a damn fine plinker to spend a pleasant afternoon with

  38. Crash Johnson on April 13, 2022 at 6:45 pm

How about malfunctions? Did you have any, and if so, what was the cause?

  39. Andy Black on April 13, 2022 at 6:45 pm

Can you put other rimfire uppers on the 15-22 like 17HMR etc? And nice review and cool little pistol my dad has the full size 15-22 also got the Ruger 1022! 🙂

  40. Chalerm Iamhirun on April 13, 2022 at 6:46 pm

What’s the longest barrel available for S&W mp15-23?

  41. zulu knight on April 13, 2022 at 6:50 pm

It should of had a drum like the 15 22 rifle black dog 50 round drum

I must say that Allen is the best commentator on any firearms channel. Thoroughly enjoy his work. Learned a lot from him.

Your reviews rock sir! Thank you!

  45. Jeremy Echternach on April 13, 2022 at 6:52 pm

I have ran 2 different brands and grain weight. Both rds had issue with stove pipping the brass. Did you have that issue at all?
