M&P9 Compact VS Glock 19 – TheFirearmGuy

M&P9 Compact VS Glock 19 – TheFirearmGuy

Here is a M&P9 Compact 2.0 VS Glock 19 range comparison. These two pistols are very similar in many ways. The decision comes down to shooting impressions and price. I made my choice but more importantly, which of these two would you choose?

Both are great guns.M&P 9 fit my hand better maiy be because i am very familir with M&P lines and shot them more than Glock. Sometimes for the price of Glock you can get a Performance center M&P which is definitely better.

    Glock 🔥

  4. Chris Zappa on April 5, 2022 at 5:43 pm

Just bought my 4th M&P model lol. Was at my local gun shop had a minty gen 1 M&P 4 incher 9mm w/3 mags box back straps night sights holster couldn’t pass it up 375 out the door. Have a gen 1/2 shield gen 2 like ur vid full size this is number 4 prob not the last.

  5. Toby Hayes on April 5, 2022 at 5:44 pm

The M&P provides better ergonomics and a naturally pointing 18 degree grip angle. M&P is my preferred gun for carry.

  6. LittleJohnny Forthright on April 5, 2022 at 5:48 pm

Would the Smith&Wesson SD9VE be a more accurate comparison to the Glock19?

  7. Ahmed Reyes on April 5, 2022 at 5:50 pm

Why people are afraid to say which one is better always in videos, glocks are the best in reliability and after market parts, in ergonomic sucks, m&p better in ergonomic and more beautiful than glock but less reliable.glocks win best Personal protection Gun ever.

  8. Impossiblemusic55 on April 5, 2022 at 5:51 pm

Feel like this argument is about personal choice. So many pros and cons on both sides that it really comes down to the training of who’s holding the piece 🤷‍♂️

  9. bikerjack 68 on April 5, 2022 at 5:53 pm

So what IWB holster would you recommend for the S&W?

  10. Andrew Dizon on April 5, 2022 at 5:56 pm

    Glocks are overrated lol

  11. Cameron Mowdy on April 5, 2022 at 5:56 pm

    Both are great guns.

  12. T F on April 5, 2022 at 5:57 pm

I’ve had my a Glock 19 since 1993 or 1994 I can’t remember but it has never let me down. Purchased a 19 Gen 4, again has never let me down. That being said my favorite is my HK VP9. Once again good video sir, thank you.

  13. The A Files on April 5, 2022 at 5:58 pm

I’ve carried Glock for years, never thought I would want a Smith and Wesson and thought they were kind of ugly until they put the full size model of the M2.0 in my hand in my correctional academy, now I love it. I can’t decide which one is my favorite, the only thing I like better on the M2.0 is the grip and trigger but I did excellent with both and would carry either.

  14. Stephan T on April 5, 2022 at 5:58 pm

100% MP fan boy here lol 😆 just got the subcompact and couldn’t be happier

  15. Nate Matthew on April 5, 2022 at 5:59 pm

Let’s make no mistake, the Glock is a great gun and I’ve carried a G19 for the past 6 years. Just got myself a M&P and I must say it’s better. Smoother to operate, less recoil and most importantly, I had to add better sights and a lighter trigger to my G19 whereas the S&W stock is more than good enough.

  16. you should be looking everywhere on April 5, 2022 at 6:01 pm

U fanboys (or girls) are a trip. There so similar its not even worth conversation. Newbees lmao.

  17. JPG_SIG10 on April 5, 2022 at 6:03 pm

IMHO, this M&P is the better choice.
I own this M&P and I owned this Gen4 Glock 19. Liked both a lot. Both very reliable, very accurate, very similar in a lot of (other) ways. But the M&P just took it for me. So I sold my Gen4 Glock 19 and never looked back.
As Hickok45 likes to say, life is good. 👍

  18. Xenophobb Asdf on April 5, 2022 at 6:05 pm

M and p line way better feel in the hand and grip angle, glocks I always have to adjust for the sights which are freaking plastic

  19. Marty Martin on April 5, 2022 at 6:06 pm

What? You have not heard of a Mossberg MC2c!

  20. Rollo Tape on April 5, 2022 at 6:06 pm

I prefer the S&W because of thumb safety option.

  21. Richard Hungwell on April 5, 2022 at 6:08 pm

Had the Gen 1 M&P compact, it was garbage. Went through several other carry guns. Currently on a Gen 5 Glock 19 MOS. Might consider a M&P 2.0 in the future if I get the chance to test one out. It can’t be as bad as the Gen 1.

  22. Antonio Bonilla on April 5, 2022 at 6:08 pm

    MP

  23. Reggie Clarke on April 5, 2022 at 6:09 pm

Love both of them. Ergonomically, I prefer M&P but I finalized on the G19 and G17 simply because I have PCCs and all the mags are compatible. If need be, I can throw everything in a bag and know I don’t have to fumble with the mags.

  24. Roman Kuprava on April 5, 2022 at 6:11 pm

    Mp9 all the way

  25. Ray Trammell on April 5, 2022 at 6:13 pm

M&P ergo and looks are superior to the block. I’m a former block owner of their 9 and .40

  26. Somafera on April 5, 2022 at 6:14 pm

I personally love my Glock 19 gen 5. For me it feels better in my hand as far as comfortability goes. I’ve shot the MP quite a few times. It just feels cheaper in my honest opinion. I’m not a Glock fanboy per-say. As I do own other firearms. But it has to be Glock for me as far as my everyday carry

  27. John W on April 5, 2022 at 6:17 pm

I’ve had my M&P going on 15 years .40fs a great shooter never a misfire I’ve also had my G19 gen2 for about the same amount of time I love them both and wouldn’t part with either.

  28. The Serious X Show on April 5, 2022 at 6:18 pm

    Dude look like bill obrien

  29. Kenny Strange on April 5, 2022 at 6:18 pm

    Good choice!! 👍

  30. kmacnumber2 on April 5, 2022 at 6:20 pm

    M&P all day long

  31. Morgan Blackheart on April 5, 2022 at 6:21 pm

I’ll be honest with you. I did buy my M&P to spite Glock owners.

I’m sure I’ve commented this on other videos, but I couldn’t stand the cult like following the G19 has and in my opinion, I just couldn’t feed into that weirdness. I don’t want to trash anyone, but it’s like most Glock owners have this weird fetish over owning them and they act almost like it’s the only handgun available, or that it’s the best available, completely overlooking guns that are potentially just as good.

I’ve considered buying a G19 because they are good guns. It’s not the gun, it’s the fanbase unfortunately. Glocks are obviously great guns and very few don’t like them, even the ones who aren’t super Glock obsessive and I feel strongly that the M&P is fairly underated. I can’t be biased because I have not owned glocks, but after watching several reviews I can tell that there’s absolutely nothing wrong with them.

However, after shooting my M&P a bit, I’ve come to find out that I hate the hook trigger, but I will say so far I’ve put a couple hundred rounds through it and it hasn’t failed me even though it gets dirty. I always take it with me in the woods, and it’s gotten muddy a few times. Still goes bang when I hit the bang switch.

And I’m sure I’d say the same thing about the G19.

But really the M&P is a great gun, but it’s often overlooked. For the common man it’s probably the best option in my opinion. Glock in my opinion is kind of a hard use but for a common man just protecting his family, the M&P will definitely shine and then some. Smith and Wesson also has a great reputation for making badass and reliable weapons.

  32. AJ on April 5, 2022 at 6:21 pm

Easy, m&p 2.0. Glock is floating purely on reputation these days and not innovating to keep up with the competition because “Glock perfection”. They’ve been clearly passed by and they’re objectively overpriced as all hell. I know this because when shit hit the fan with covid and the gun economy went in the shitter every gun skyrocketed in price… but Glock. Glock stayed the exact same.
M&p has a better construction, better sights, better guide rod, better grip angle, better traction on the grip, and is just as reliable. If you have to immediately go buy a ton of shit after you buy your gun to make it really good then it’s just not a very good gun, so the “aftermarket” argument is just not a good one. Besides smith’s are no slouch in that compartment by any means either and you won’t even need to upgrade much of it out of the box anyways.
I hope Glock gets their head out of their ass and steps up their game. I’d love to see what they can do if they actually tried.

  33. moonman535 on April 5, 2022 at 6:26 pm

M & P9 no disrespect lots of my friends are Glock 19 lovers… H&K it’s the grip & performance in my hand… Good reviews Take Care…

  34. Fred Stanfa on April 5, 2022 at 6:27 pm

M&P. Ergo is much better than glock , good reliability.

  35. 830 Apache on April 5, 2022 at 6:27 pm

GLOCK EVERYDAY….. YALL JUST CHOOSING M&P CAUSE ITS MADE IN USA 🇺🇸

  36. Marty Martin on April 5, 2022 at 6:28 pm

Hay man this is not a popular gun an I don’t know why? PUT THE MOSSBERG Mc2c in the mix? ITS THE GUN IN THE MIDDLE!YOI MITE KEEP IT!😎🇱🇷👍

  37. Daniel Curtis on April 5, 2022 at 6:29 pm

I personally carry a Glock 19, although if the s&w compact was more readily available to me I’d go with it in a heartbeat! I love a smith

  38. Eric Pensyl on April 5, 2022 at 6:29 pm

    M&P 2.0 9mm hands down everyday.

  39. Mark Miela on April 5, 2022 at 6:30 pm

I prefer the M&P. I bought a 2.0 compact and took the money I wound have spent on a Glock and bought ammo.

  40. Glock Fanboy on April 5, 2022 at 6:30 pm

Drop both in the mud n let simmer for a week!!! Glock goes bang n M&P mite go bang or mite not!!! You decide…..

  41. Dr MitoFit on April 5, 2022 at 6:31 pm

I own both and the 2.0 Compact wins on looks, grip shape, grip texture, sights, 4" or 3.6" option, thumb safety option, slimmer mags, and out of the box ejection. But I shoot my Gen3 G19 very, very well. The 17rd G45 is also a great choice for duty or shoulder holster carry.

  42. José Santiago on April 5, 2022 at 6:31 pm

I have Both of them and I Love them Both !

  43. Matthew Hartup on April 5, 2022 at 6:32 pm

I have both, they are pretty similar I like and carry both.

Factory Trigger – (slight edge) to the M&P
Stock sights – M&P (I hate stock Glock sight, upgraded mine)
    Grip feel/angle – M&P
    Overall look – Glock
    Magazines – Glock (esp. loading)
    Takedown/Slide lock release – Glock
    Shoot-ability- Equal
    Accuracy – Equal
    Price – M&P
    Resale value- Glock

    Malfunctions – M&P 550-600 rounds.. zero / Glock 150 rounds.. 1 stove pipe

  44. Joe Nicholson on April 5, 2022 at 6:33 pm

I’m a fan of blocks since they came out but the M&P is currently the gun I carry now.

  45. FtwRogue on April 5, 2022 at 6:33 pm

For the money Smith 2.0 over glock and I love G19 but the real underdog hero is the Sd9ve carry wise thinner, lighter, cheaper, better slide just as reliable, download 1st mag 8-12 don’t single stack those can’t go extendo 🤣 also stipple/sand the trigger pad on Smithy’s to preference before you Apex

  46. Steve Wise on April 5, 2022 at 6:33 pm

I have the M&P2 in 9mm and love it.

  47. DMG Three on April 5, 2022 at 6:35 pm

    I choose Both

  48. José Santiago on April 5, 2022 at 6:36 pm

    I Pick the M&P

  49. Cal Sade on April 5, 2022 at 6:36 pm

Originally I was moved more by the look and feel of the shield…I walked into a gun shop with someone dealing with handguns for 20 years. He mentioned 3 things. I said if I get the shield i want an apex tactical flat face trigger. He told me that trigger is amazing. Glock 19 tactical triggers are garbage. Thats one interesting point. He told me hands down get the glock period. Why?? Two reasons…Glocks rarely rarely malfunction. A shield will break or have more malfunctions… Glocks are monumentally easier to fix and work on. A shield is VERY difficult to work on and change parts on. ANYBODY CARE TO COMMENT ON THESE POINTS?? I WANT TO KNOW OPINIONS.

  50. Luke Smith on April 5, 2022 at 6:37 pm

M&P feels nice in hand and Glock feels like a block in hand, but I still carry a Block! 😂
