Yes I need a Gen5 20 mos to go with my Gen5 19 mos.
Typically torture tests are not done by the manufacturer they’re done by people like yourself who want to show the public just what the capabilities of the Gun truly could do. Smith and Wesson is one of the few companies that offers a 100% lifetime guarantee so if anything goes wrong they get it fixed no questions asked. I’ve seen the way that the Smith and Wesson M&P9 2.0 works & it’s proven itself to be the most reliable 9 mm polymer firearm I’ve ever owned. I’ve also spoken to countless certified gunsmiths who believe the craftsmanship and quality of the steel reinforced frame which is primarily done with the M&P 2.0 models is actually far superior on craftsmanship and durability to any of the Glocks. Obviously due to the metal chassis underneath of the polymer Smith & Wesson frame you are going to see much tighter tolerances and greater accuracy than a loosey-goosey 75% polymer pistol like a Glock.
Another thing u might add. The recoil spring does need to be replaced over time with the G20.
Love my G40, sold my G29 (grip was too short) & my new G20 ships out Monday. Itll be my new carry piece once I’ve tested it out.
@Chuke’s Outdoor Adventures – The gen 5 Glock triggers pretty much feel like a gen 4 Glock with a minus Glock connector or Ghost 3.5 connector, which is a very easy and cheap part replacement. Gen 5 Glocks are seriously over hyped, to me they all shoot identical just depends on the shooter.
I aways carry my 10 MM slingshot
Funny, I live in southeast ak, and carry my glock 40 mos with a tlr1 hL in a kenai holster. Haha
Because .45 is slow and old, and the .40 is for lady FBI agents. 9mm and 10mm is the only thing you need. I carry a GEN 4 G29 with x-grips on the G20 mags when I’m in the back country.
Go to the dentist
All handguns are pathetic compared to a good rifle. Yes. True.
However, handguns do their job by penetrating deep crushing their way through. No one asked them to do the same stuff as a rifle. They do stuff, just different.
Patiently waiting for FN or HK to make a 10mm
I think a wise thought process for anyone introducing a 10mm in the 2020s would be "Will this gun run reliably with warm 200 (or even 220) grain hardcast bullets that many people want as a defense load in grizzly country?" If the answer is "No" they should go back to the drawing board IMO. I’m a huge Glock fan, but it doesn’t take much research at all to see what a small percentage of "Mine works 100%" G20 owners have put any or more than a couple boxes of 200+ grain ammo through their guns vs those that have and had notable issues.
I’ve been carrying an S&W 1006 for 30 years but I’d love to get a 16 shot Smith10MM
Entire commentary was about glock. Why name your video S&W 10 mm concerns.
I’m buying the S&W 10mm because I’ve always been a fan. Not to mention it shoots .40 which is what I carry on duty. Win, win.
#1 reason I’d get the S&W 10mm is simply because the Glock just a smidge too big for my hands to comfortably hold & the Gen 4 finger grooves are such they sting my hands when I shoot the Glock 20/21.
Or I’d get the XDm full size 10mm. Alas it seems all the stores carry these days are 9mm pistols.
Have two Smith & Wesson 1006 the OG . Wish they still made them their Badass .
😂😂😂😂💪
Dear Glock, please dremel out the finger grooves on a gen4 and call it a gen5. That’s all I am asking for.
I really wish glock would come out with a 10mm that’s the same size as the glock 19/23
Glock! Hahahahaha…buy a real gun. It’s called..1911. Plastic junk.
My gen 4 works flawlessly.
I know 45acp isn’t a 10mm but it still does the job specially that 230 grain proved itself for over 100 years. That being said I want the m&p 10
Thanks for the video. I wonder if the problems with the gen 5 10mm glock have anything to do with the barrels since it’s very common to be the first thing people change
My m&p 10mm is getting delivered tomorrow! Can’t wait to get some rounds through it
That’s a good question. Not sure about the reliability of the m&p however my new xdm elite compact 10mm has been absolutely stellar. I still love my old g20 gen 4 like you I would take it with me into the woods. And yeah, why the hell won’t Glock make a gen 5 g20/29?!
Sold my g20 10mm couple of months ago due to a malfunction. The back of the primer on the casing got seized against the firing pin wall and when i racked it it wouldint come out so ended up selling that & getting a 17. But now im getting a m&p 10mm for sure
Can a sub compact mp be next?
The 10mm S&Ws have the new non-hinged flattish triggers found on the Shield+ and the new Optics Ready 9mms.
Pressure? Maybe that’s why they didn’t come out with a gen 1. 😅🤣
The Springfield 3.8 is a phenomenal gun and the 10 mm version is one NOT to be overlooked!
So someone with a 9mm wished they had a 10mm? Is it me or isn’t that a little SPINAL TAP > GOES TO 11?
I’ve carried a Glock 20SF for years in the winter or in the woods. But holy crap, when S&W came out with the news about their 10s I nearly peed myself. My dealer has already put an alert out with his distributor. I’m on the list for the first one they come across. With a Holosun mounted on top it could easily become my favorite carry gun about 8 months of the year.
I emailed glock a few weeks ago and they said there are no current plans for a Gen 5 glock 20 mos 😢
I have to say that I was excited because I had an opportunity to buy a Compact 2.0 in 9mm for $325 and it is nothing short of fantastic. They made the rails bigger and the skeletonized frame is stiffer than my Glock 19. They are both lights out reliable. The M&P was a little beefier than the Glock IMO and never had issues like earlier Glock 22’s in .40 did. Granted new models in any product can have issues, but I’d be willing to wager that the M&P 2.0 in 10mm will perform as expected. S&W products are typically excellent. I have 4 S&W firearms and their quality is outstanding overall.
You carry a discontinued Springfield?
Glock 49 to be a single stack 10mm! Glock needs to make this happen like a 43x or 48!
G 20 Gen 5 would be interesting.
All I use is XDM and my light saber!
I looked at the S&W 10mm but it comes in only one configuration, tall sights and an RMR cut. I don’t want either so S&W is out for now. I’ll stick with my XD 5.25".
People are starting to report problems with the m&p 10 mil it will not feed hollow points
Try a P80 frame with a standard m20 glock slide. fill the frame with your glock parts and I think you will find what you are looking for in a nice handling 10mm with amazing reliability and strength to handle the highest level 10mm loads with consistancy , durability and accuracy..
Get ready for battered slides on the gen5
I only run 10 MM`s cause they done make 11’s yet
You should watch the movie SCANNERS.
Picked up the m&p 10mm compact. Coming over from glocks I have a gen 3 29 sf, a gen 40 Glock 20 and a gen 4 Glock 40 mos. the m&p has a better trigger and better texture. Very much getting g19x vibes from it being that it has a 4 inch slide and a full size grip the gun is very balanced. I run a surefire x400v and a holo sun 507c on it. Very reliable so far and very accurate. The recoil seems to be a little less than a stock Glock 20 but I believe it has a heavier spring.
My question is when will Glock produce a 29S…. Love my Glock 30S…. Love 10mm…. A gen5 would be great too
Glock is trash it’s better 10mm out there that’s better than Glock.
Where’s the 12mm
I own many 10mm handguns. But my personal two favorites are my glock Gen 4 20, and my springfield range officer elite. I carry the glock when camping or for protection when hunting. I use the springfield for hunting cause I use extreme high power shells that I don’t really trust the glock to handle. That me seem ignorant to some people, and it may be. But I trust that solid steel frame over the glocks polymer frame. Just my opinion.
