I usually wear button-up shirts and I tuck them in my pants and I put my wallet in the shirt.

    Pencil and paper, business cards.
Never know when a conversation leads to "funny you mention that. I have four of those at home".

Tape measure, caliper and micrometer, and precise measurements of things at home that need parts.

Yeah, most stuff now is Lego brick swap if you know what you’re looking at, but what about that nice old leather 1911 holster on the table? How bout the unopened 1998 Polish gas mask filters? What about that barrel length?

    Good vid, Clover. πŸ‘

I think a lot of people underestimate the value of a flashlight at gun shows. Venues can get crowded and even the best lit places will have lots of shadows when you are more limited by where you can point a muzzle trying to get light where you need it.

2 things I take with me to gun shows are a Jeweler’s loupe with a built in led light in both white and UV light, and most importantly I take my absolutely best safety mindset. By that I mean that My usual gun safety mindset is echeted up to almost anal retentive levels, due to the fast paced and shear number of opportunities to make mistakes. I keep myself on a very tight leash when it comes to the 3 rules of gun safety and I keep my head on a swivel around others.

Dumb question. Never purchased a firearm at a gun show. Also not familiar with illinois law when pertaining to them. If I purchase a gun at the show, do I get the firearm at the point of purchase?

  30. Milsurp Mike Channel on November 14, 2021 at 9:17 pm

If you have a baby or toddler, take them as they are Fudd/Boomer kryptonite… especially if the vendor’s wife is there.

A temporary loop type sling ,small tape measure, bore light and a loupe. Sometimes a small backpack. Snap caps for shotgun. If I have a gun on my back for sale ,there is a flag in the barrel with model and price. Cuts down on sketchy buyers and chitchat. My gun show days are over, the offerings and prices don’t interest me. But for about 35 years they were great. Mostly a seller these days.
