Thales is pronounced "tallis". I have worked at one of their factories and this clarification came directly from the management.

    Armament purchases benefits 2 type of people: 1. Manufacturers and their shareholders. 2. National leaders, politicians and military top brass in cahoots with 1. Top losers are dumb taxpayers . These countries spent in 2020 on their militaries $778 billion 🇺🇸 , 🇨🇳 $252 b, 🇮🇳 $73b, 🇷🇺 $62b, 🇬🇧 $59b, 🇩🇪 $53b, 🇫🇷 $53b, 🇯🇵 $49b, South Korea 🇰🇷 $46b.

But these countries cannot even defend themselves against a teeny, weeny SARS-CoV-2 virus after 17 months ( as of June 2021)

    Virus 1: dumb countries 0

“If the world spent less than 1% of what it spends on weapons, all (the previously mentioned issues) would be fixed.”
    NV atCEPImperial

We need to eliminate the wage and everything, especially weapons , deadly cars, houses, military, advertisements, etc, and start working part time building only multi-purpose Tower cities connected to maglev Trains worldwide to eliminate commutes. Because it’s the only way we can save the earth, and thus all human lives worldwide.

  27. Eddie Murphy on December 6, 2021 at 7:22 pm

They have now given weapons to the Taliban. Now these companies ask India and Pakistan to buy weapons. Believe me this was no accident, Americans did this for profit while destabilizing Asia.
India is allies of usa. But i believe it’s not.

The US defense contractors handing over military equipment to commercial decision or maybe they don’t ask they take .

  34. micklaslavic on December 6, 2021 at 7:36 pm

Strange how Aviation Industry Corp of China, China North Industries Group, China Aerospace, China Shipbuilding Industry Corp and China Electronics Technology Group missed this ranking since all were in the top ten in 2019 and at least 3 in 2020’s. Maybe we’re supposed to think China’s massive build up is through foreign manufacturers?

  35. 陈陳 on December 6, 2021 at 7:37 pm

  42. william DeFreest on December 6, 2021 at 7:40 pm

I thought General Dynamics or Raytheon would be higher and I’m surprised SAAB wasn’t on there

  43. Dave Nobody on December 6, 2021 at 7:43 pm

I wonder how much of the $700bn US defence budget are profits for these companies. In the meantime, China has 2nd largest standing armed forces but none of their defence companies are famous. China has clearly spent their $200bn annual budget in the places where they needed the most.

Poor think Stark not making weapon anymore i mind who Van deveat Ironman and legioner !?….

  50. paul mcenroe on December 6, 2021 at 7:55 pm

I knew it would be an all American top 5..and that’s even with their greatest General having basically warned the American people to watch out for the military industrial complex and it’s power and influence. Has a homeless situation no OECD country can compare to and meanwhile China has uplifted about 750 million people, in the space of about 50 years out of poverty we couldn’t imagine.
